to the new anti-muslim republican party… I mean does he really think his “friend” Daniel
Pipes sees him as his equal…. I grew up a republican but lately notice a growing number of republican candidates using anti-muslim rhetoric to try to get elected… I understand why some people have a problem with a mosque near ground zero… but what’s their excuse for Sheepshead bay, Staten Island, and all the other mosque being opposed…..

I don’t get it, how can Zuhdi Jasser remain a Muslim if he discredits everything it stands for and takes the side of those who want to “defeat Islam”.
To be honest, he seems like one of those pretend “experts” on Islam just looking to get some money to display some progressive attitude on TV.

I don’t totally agree with some of Aslan’s views, but nonetheless, he did rip apart Jasser’s arguments. Its kind of sad that few are willing to succinctly expose Jasser’s associations with groups that American Muslims are overwhelmingly against.

In all fairness I’d like to point out that Reza Aslan is NOT an Islamic scholar, but he doesn’t have to be to deal with the likes of Jasser, a token colored neocon muppet. His “American Islamic Forum for democracy” is just an organization on paper which was formed to give support to Bush’s war on Iraq.
Best way to shut him up is to ask him where Iraq’s WMDs are and how he feels about being affiliated with a racist judeofascist like Daniel “brown people without Germanic standards of hygiene” Pipes.

I do not believe Lawrence is a Christian, he’s using the old Sabbatean method of pretending to be someone else to set others up for a confrontation. There are even examples of them pretending to be Muslims eg AtaTurd, Talat Pasha, Stephen Schwartz to name a few. I’ve come across many characters like this over the years online. Another trick they’ll use is pretend to be Buddhists, with very pro-israeli hasbara propaganda points, but when you probe deeper and point out that Buddhism endorses self-deference, they’ll take off knowing the jig is up. The Zionist atheist charlatan Sam Harris comes to mind.
Lawrence is playing that same game here. His dig at Judaism is only to throw you off. His trying too hard in his aim is to set Christians against Muslims, an objective many of the loons featured on this site share with him.

We need to start focusing on our similarities rather than our differences, I’ve seen Reza speak in person and he is amazing because his views are smart and fact based- not stemmed from hate. Everyone needs to live in 2010 and not in historic moments. If you believe in peace- you believe in working towards it, not shifting in reverse.

Jasser is an asshole, pure and simple. Every Muslim knows that “Sharia” can mean anything from rabid, ultra-closed minded fundamentalist doctrine to the most open – minded liberal interpretation of Islamic Law. It takes a REAL asshole when, being a Muslim, he essentially is saying that Islamic Law is evil. There are good interpretations of Islamic Law and bad ones, but to Jasser any interpretation of Islamic Law (apparently) is evil.
So……what kind of a Muslim hates Islamic Law? Answer: A Hypocrite and a Non-Muslim in disguise.

I usually have issues with Aslan, but i found a new respect for him. jasser is zionist neocon who lies about his background.
