The backlash against Muslims continues. I am sure Islamophobes will give this guy a break and say he was drunk, but do you think they would have given Mel Gibson the same break for his drunken anti-Semitic tirade?
‘Drunk’ desecration at mosque

A drunk barged into a Queens mosque last night and shouted anti-Muslim slurs as he urinated on prayer rugs, cops and witnesses said.
Evening prayers were disrupted at the Iman Mosque on Steinway Street in Astoria when the unhinged man “came in with a beer bottle in his hands, clearly very intoxicated,” said Mustapha Sadouki, who was attending services.
“He fumbled over to our rugs where people were praying” and then committed the despicable desecration, Sadouki said,
The man, identified by cops as Omar Rivera, also allegedly shouted slurs, calling the worshippers “terrorists.”
Two men managed to subdue him. They put him a back room and called 911.
Cops took him to a hospital and later charged him with criminal trespass.
“He stuck up his middle finger and cursed at everyone,” said Sadouki, 43.
“No one can pray now because the rugs are completely soiled. It was disgusting.
“He calls us terrorists, yet he comes into our mosque and terrorizes other people.
“This is a true hate crime.”

This reminds me of hadith from Sahih Muslim:
Book 002, Number 0559:
“Anas b. Malik reported: While we were in the mosque with Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him), a desert Arab came and stood up and began to urinate in the mosque. The Companions of Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: Stop, stop, but the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: Don’t interrupt him; leave him alone. They left him alone, and when he finished urinating, Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) called him and said to him: These mosques are not the places meant for urine and filth, but are only for the remembrance of Allah, prayer and the recitation of the Qur’an, or Allah’s Messenger said something like that. He (the narrator) said that he (the Holy Prophet) then gave orders to one of the people who brought a bucket of water and poured it over.”
Granted, it is a different situation. The bedouin was ignorant while the jerkoff in the Al-Imam mosque was drunk, but it does strike a chord. The prophet Muhammad (pbuh) did not react angrily at the bedouin for being stupid but I think the people at Al-Imam mosque should take any and all legal actions against that drunken clown Mr. Rivera.

Mr Rivera will most likely mitigate by claiming he was drunk. In that case the phrase that springs to mind is: ‘in vino veritas’.

It’s an Arabic name that exists independently of Islam. It just so happens, a lot of Muslims tend to give their kids Arabic names.

Story should be updated. It appears there was no anti-muslim slurs according to the people in the mosque. Not sure why they didn’t use the ever popular taqiyya and just lie! Those damn truthful and honest muslims.

You guys need to make a correction to this story. The NY Post removed any mention of anti-Muslim slurs in the article and the guy was so drunk he did not even know he was at the mosque.
