Jon Stewart’s Daily Show continues to take on the mosque controversy. this time Aasif Mandvi was in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, the site of a different mosque controversy.

    I am a retired soldier and have spent a couple of years with Islamic people, living and working together in Iraq.
    From what I have learned and whitnessed, they are no different than us because, I can remember back in the 50`s, 60`s and the 70`s most men in America had beaten their spouse and had probably broken some bones.
    I can also remember when America was the land of the FREE where people had the freedom of speech, the freedom of religion and so on.
    The point of what I`m saying is, all muslims are not radical. Most are a peaceful people and the people fo Murfreesboro need to open their minds and learn to try to coexist.
    Most of my best friends are muslim and they are from Iraq, Afganistan and Somolia.
    As a final thought… What if this was a country where the people killed each other because of religious beliefs and, because of different understandings of the Bible?
    Up until 9/11, all kinds of people came to America without bias and the freedom to practice whatever they wanted whenever they wanted.
    The people of the United States need to quit being racist but, more optimistic about people they don`t understand.

    @Spanky; your probably right, which explains the curious camera angle: full back of the head in frame, making it appear Aasif is doing the interview. They probably sent someone else took an hour or so of footage and cutted-and-pasted Aasif in it.

    Similar to how someone took this interview and made this spoof of it.

    The names of the people are featured so you can simply do a search on them and yes they are REAL people. I was wondering how they did such a funny interview but now I think its the same method as how Weird Al Yankovic interview Kevin Federline.

    hey that is what i was wondering….are these people he interviewed actors??
    i hate the lies that lady told about islam….i think she should read the quran herself, not search for certain verses which when quoted out of context looks like they are against the lives of non-muslims. for e.g:
    surah at-tawba chapter 9,verse 5.
    DO READ IT BUTTTT….ALSO READ VERSE 1,2,3,4 AND SPECIALLY 6…..

    I found the segment with Aasif amusing, but it disappointed in one respect: It did nothing to counter the flagrant lies about “the Jews and the Christians [being] the infidels, and they are, according to the Quranic teachings supposed to be killed”. It is one of the greatest (and most dangerous) myths about Islam that shouldn’t be left standing.
