Haaretz and AlJazeera have reported on the mosque in the West Bank that was torched by Israeli settlers. It seems that they don’t want a peace process or Muslims around.
Barak: West Bank Arsonists are terrorists and must be stopped
Defense Minister Ehud Barak ordered security officials on Monday to make every effort to track down the arsonists who torched a Palestinian mosque in the West Bank the night before.
The mosque in village of Bayt Fajar near Bethlehem was set alight and vandalized late Sunday night in what police suspected was a “price tag” operation by nearby settlers wishing to protest Israel’s West Bank policies.
“Whoever committed this act is a terrorist in every regard, intent on harming any chance for peace and dialogue with the Palestinians,” Barak said. “This was a disgraceful act and a stain on the State of Israel and its values.

Israeli settlers have been doing this for a while now. The coverage of this will be scant to non-existent in the US because as Marty Peretz said “Muslim life is cheap.”
October 4th, 2010 at 1:07 pm
This is an unfortunate incident, but when are you going to come to the realization that these alleged incidents of ‘Islamophobia’ are only reactions to Muslim terrorism and intolerance throughout the world today?
October 4th, 2010 at 1:20 pm
Again, JihadBob’s logic rules the day again, two wrongs make a right? So the Fort Hood shooting and the Time Square Bombing was just a justified reaction to US Drone terror attacks in Pakistan that kill mostly civilians?
Moreover, you ignoramus, the settlers say this is a reaction to Israeli policy of not building more settlements and dismantling some settlements called ‘price tag’ not Muslim ‘terrorism’ . Read the article genius.
October 4th, 2010 at 1:23 pm
Don’t be so absurd JihadBob
The settlers are trying to derail the peace process, they hope for the type of reaction you describe so that the Palestinians can use it as an excuse to stop the talks, and that will give them the excuse they need to crow
“See, they don’t want peace, they want to kill us”
What is your stake in this conflict anyway, you lying opportunistic? Soon the day will come, when Chernick had wished he had invested in useful projects, instead of the likes like you.
and Ustadh
This is why Al Jazeera was banned in the USA, by the Israeli lobby groups, and they also call Haaretz an enemy of Israel voice, even though it is the most influential newspaper in Israel.
I hope these cowardly losers, lowlifes and scummy culprits are hunted down, and brought to justice
October 4th, 2010 at 1:27 pm
Yes Robaby, ironically the settlers of this type (extremist hate mongers) are the ones who spit on Christians when they come to Israel and insult Jesus, and call for Christianity to be banned in Israel (as an idolatory) but this Judas called JihadBob doesn’t care about that, which shows he doesn’t care about Christians, only when he can use them for his own agenda (attacks in Muslim countries)
JihadBob is such a lunatic that he doesn’t realise, these settlers who do these things (and they’re not all like that mind you) don’t give two hoots about what is going on elsewhere in the world.
October 4th, 2010 at 1:35 pm
One could say, as most sholars, terrorists, and Muslims do, that the Muslim terrorists are the products of history: the deterioration of the Islamic world, the creation of Israel, occupation of Muslim lands, Muslim nations being pushed around, etc.
October 4th, 2010 at 1:41 pm
Typical Bob, calling such an atrocity merely an “unfortunate incident”, probably through gritted teeth, then putting Islamophobia in scare quotes.
So Bob, straight question, straight answer: Did the mosque and its regular visitors deserve this crime or not?
October 4th, 2010 at 1:41 pm
Here is my favorite JihadBob qoute:
“That’s because you, like most Muslims, are supporters of Islamo-fascism.”
http://www.loonwatch.com/2010/10/m-cherif-bassiouni-islamophobia-and-the-mosque-controversy/
It’s a response to intolerant Muslims (AKA ‘they’ want to build a mosque in Tennessee).
October 4th, 2010 at 2:22 pm
I unreservedly condemn this attack, but as logic points out, there are violent acts around the world in response to the Islam’s assault on non-believers: continuous suppression of non-Muslim rights in Pakistan and Indonesia and ignorance of the Christian holocaust in the Sudan and Iraq, curtailing of free speech in the UK and attempts on the whole world, etc.
October 4th, 2010 at 2:25 pm
It’s a response to intolerant Muslims (AKA ‘they’ want to build a mosque in Tennessee).
That’s actually a response to Muslimdoll and her ilk regarding her support of curbing free speech.
Do try and keep up.
October 4th, 2010 at 2:28 pm
Why would you condemn this attack JihadBoy? You have claimed most Muslims are supporters of Islamo-fascism.
October 4th, 2010 at 2:31 pm
That’s weird.
While I was typing my comment, JihadBob made more excuses for his hate.
October 4th, 2010 at 2:53 pm
Some European coutries have banned denying the Holocaust and Armenian genocide; considering that Spencer denies the Bosnian genocide, shouldn’t he be at the forefront of fighting for the right to deny those particular genocides?
Perhaps JihadBob can provide us an excuse for Spencer’s inconsistencies?
“That’s because you, like most Muslims, are supporters of Islamo-fascism.”

The Price Tag phenomenon is interesting, and displays the cushy relationship between Israel and its Settlers. When Israeli settlers throw acid flasks and attack IDF soldiers with broken bottles and knives, the IDF treats them with kid gloves. Nobody gets killed.
And when Israel dismantles or delays settlements, or isn’t carrying out the ethnic cleansing of Palestine fast enough, the Settlers take their rage out on Arabs instead of their government.
When the Israeli government does something to slow or curb Settler expansion, the Arabs nonetheless pay the price in the inevitable loss of their buildings to illegal acts of violence. It’s a keen way for Israel to have its cake and eat it too.

This is an unfortunate incident, but when are you going to come to the realization that these alleged incidents of ‘Islamophobia’ are only reactions to Muslim terrorism and intolerance throughout the world today?
well jihadbob as many of the people with common sense advised you, first of all two wrongs doesnt make one right. secondly using same argument can we also conclude the terrorism that we have now is a direct reult of injustice committed by western forces in the middle eastern soil?
October 4th, 2010 at 5:37 pm
Hey Jihadbob, your some logic can be used by Al Qeada, who said 9/11 was a response to all the injustice America has done on the muslim world and because it armed Israel allowing it to kill 20 times as many people than those who died oon 9/11. Remember what happened to Lebanon in 1982? Thousand of Lebanese civilians were killed in a few months to the point that even the Reagan Administration and the Israeli people were disgusted at the Israeli government, yet the Reagan, Bush, and Clinton Administration continued to arm Israel with cluster bombs. So radical muslims like the time square bomber today are just responding to the terror drones the continue to kill civilians including his relatives everyday. Honestly, why wouldn’t they want to kill us?
October 4th, 2010 at 5:38 pm
correction: same logic not some and I meant “Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 1982″

October 4th, 2010 at 6:11 pm
So Bob, straight question, straight answer: Did the mosque and its regular visitors deserve this crime or not?
Sphinx, I would say, as would most scholars and Christian and Jewish extremists (see the other thread posted on loonwatch for confirmation of this fact) that this arson attack is the product of history and our current political climate: the deterioration of the Jewish world, the creation of Hamas and al-Qaeda, occupation of Jewish and Christian lands, non-Muslim nations being attacked by Islamic terrorists, etc.
October 4th, 2010 at 6:17 pm
That’s righr JihadBob. That’s what the times square bomber said.
According to your warped logic he’s justified.
October 4th, 2010 at 6:20 pm
Um…actually no JihadBob, no scholar says that except for a few loon pseudo-scholars (i.e. Robert Spencer)
Wait, actually even Spencer hasn’t said that.
Congratulations. Your nuttiness has reached a level never before attained by a human being.

Occupation of Jewish and Christian lands
Wait what? If you’re going to attempt to be sarcastic, at least try to be factual.
October 5th, 2010 at 1:04 am
Oh Bob, how predictable. I ask a straight question, expecting a straight answer, ergo: “Yes” or “No” without buts and ifs, but you give me a non answer.
Actually I’ll give you another chance: Did the mosque and its regular visitors deserve this crime or not?
a) Yes
b) No
October 5th, 2010 at 4:20 am
@Ustadh,
Thats typical of the “moral” “israeli” army. Just light a fire cracker and they’ll soil themselves and call in air support.
October 5th, 2010 at 4:27 am
So bob seems to think this attack is a reaction to years of terrorism and intolerance, ahem , I think bob has lost the plot.
October 5th, 2010 at 8:59 am
Do unto your neighbours as you want done on you, eh? Unfortunately for them, their neighbours’ holy book views desecration of synagogues as unreligious as desecration of mosques (22:40). May Palestinians rise above their daily tragedies.
“occupation of Jewish and Christian lands”
I’m curious as to where he’s going with this.
October 5th, 2010 at 9:10 am
“This is an unfortunate incident, but when are you going to come to the realization that these alleged incidents of ‘Islamophobia’ are only reactions to Muslim terrorism and intolerance throughout the world today?”
That doesn’t downplay this hate crime.
October 5th, 2010 at 10:46 am
These Jews are terrorists but we all know there is no such thing as Jewish terrorism (sarcasm intended)
October 5th, 2010 at 10:48 am
JihadBob said, “This is an unfortunate incident, but when are you going to come to the realization that these alleged incidents of ‘Islamophobia’ are only reactions to Muslim terrorism and intolerance throughout the world today?”
Hitler said, “I recognized the Jew as the cold-hearted, shameless and calculating director of this revolting vice traffic in the scum of the big city, a cold shudder ran down my back…”
Hutu Ten Commandments said, “Every Hutu should know that every Tutsi is dishonest in business. His only aim is the supremacy of his ethnic group.”
Serbian Memorandum 1986 said, “This equal apportionment of historical guilt, so corrosive to the spirit and morale, with its time-worn injustices and falsehoods, must be abandoned if we wish to see a democratic, Yugoslav, humanistic climate prevail in contemporary Serbian culture.”
Notice the similarities here Jihadbob? Mighty fine company you are keeping nowadays, Eh?
October 5th, 2010 at 2:39 pm
Nearly every terrorist has mentioned the Israeli operation Grapes of Wrath in which they obliterated Lebanon for no good reason. It is well known the US gives extraordinary amounts of money to Israel which definitely raises suspicions in the Muslim world about a Zionist-Crusader Alliance that wants to eradicate Muslims.
“Allah knows it did not cross our minds to attack the towers but after the situation became unbearable and we witnessed the injustice and tyranny of the American-Israeli alliance against our people in Palestine and Lebanon, I thought about it. And the events that affected me directly were that of 1982 and the events that followed – when America allowed the Israelis to invade Lebanon, helped by the U.S. Sixth Fleet. As I watched the destroyed towers in Lebanon, it occurred to me punish the unjust the same way (and) to destroy towers in America so it could taste some of what we are tasting and to stop killing our children and women.”
That’s the big man Osama himself. Why are American so ignorant that they ignore what the terrorists are actually saying and make their own conclusions.
October 5th, 2010 at 9:45 pm
They think it’s all about the 72 virgins and Shariah. Yeah, right.
October 5th, 2010 at 10:42 pm
JihadBob is wrong, so very wrong: it is the Israeli settlers on the West-Bank who are doing the terrorizing,- day in and day out. They walk around with uzi’s, shooting at Palestinians visiting their farmland; they steal water wells; they confiscate land; with the help of the IDF, they even lock off streats for Palestinians, shutting up front doors so that the inhabitants have to climb up the roofs of the housing block to exit their own home. They teach their children to harass Arab kids. And every now and again, they burn a mosque.
All this can be easily known if one only takes the time to inform oneself about life on the West-Bank and the behavior of religious settlers there. I’m talking about the religious ones because the Israeli government has huge housing projects on the West-Bank in which it offers cheap housing to Jewish residents, and most Israeli’s who choose to go live there do because of economic reasons: they almost never see any Palestinians (separate Apartheid roads and all) and are scarcely aware of the misery the occupation puts on their Palestinian ‘neighbors’.
