Rabbi David Rosen Clarifies His Comments on “Islam and Europe”

Posted on 07 December 2010 by Garibaldi

Rabbi David Rosen contacted us over the weekend in response to our article, “Rabbi David Rosen: Europe Risks being Overrun by Islam,” (which was based on a quote from an EU Observer article with the same title), seeking to clarify his comment and distancing himself from others quoted in the article.

Here is the quote in question:

Speaking to journalists at a meeting in Jerusalem on Friday (26 November), Rabbi Rosen, the director of inter-religious affairs at the Washington-based American Jewish Congress, said that a predominantly secular and liberal Western European society is under threat by the rapid growth of Islamic communities that do not want to integrate with their neighbours.

“I am against building walls. My humanity is my most important component. But Western society very clearly doesn’t have a strong identity. I would like Christians in Europe to become more Christian … those who do not have a strong identity are easily overrun by those who do,” the rabbi warned.

“I think there is a pretty good chance that your grandchildren, if they are not Muslim, then they will be very strong Roman Catholics,” he told one Italian reporter. “I don’t think a tepid identity can stand up to the challenge.”

This is Rabbi David Rosen’s comments:

Dear Loonwatch.com,

The article that you reproduced from EUobserver.com grossly misrepresented me. The headline and the first paragraph are entirely the reporter’s tendentious fabrication. The quotes are correct, but connecting mine with the others in the piece even distorts the quotes. I was addressing a group of journalists on the subject of Religion and Identity in the M.E. In question time they asked me about Europe and the prognosis of an eventual Muslim majority. I said that I didn’t think one needed to be afraid of such a prospect, if the Muslim population was appropriately integrated in Europe as it sought to be. However if the prospect causes them concern, then the only appropriate and valid response is to strengthen their own identities and this is unlikely to succeed without a religious basis. I would be grateful if you would put this clarification upon your site.

Thankyou,

Rabbi David Rosen

A poor choice of words from the Rabbi initially but his clarification spells out his repudiation of the Muslim demographic take over conspiracy, though in reality all indicators reveal that Muslims in Europe are in a post-integration phase and have already been integrated into society.

Regarding your comment on 9/11 and Israel, .. the USA doesn’t need Israel for a 9/11, it’s well able to do it by itself. REmember Osama bin Laden and the Taliban, and Al Qaeda were in bed with the CIA when they were fighting the Russians so they had CIA connections already.

Dick Cheney is thought to be the man behind ALLOWING 9/11 to happen, for oil, from responsible skeptics, and not those who are just looking to blame Israel for anything,

this isn’t just believed by conspiracy nuts, but responsible American patriots in military and intelligence have voiced similar sentiments regarding Cheney. “Patriots Questions 9/11″ (see below) is the best website for the truth about 9/11 .

This doens’t exonerate Al Qaeda, even if Cheney turns out to be the guiding hand and allowing it to happen.

It could be that Cheney was aware of the Al Qaeda plot and kept quite, or even encouraged it. Maybe Dick Cheney at the helm plotted this, knowing that each of his accomplices had their their own reasons to go along with it.

Even if this is the case, it doesn’t exonerate Al Qaeda and their misinterpreting the Quran for their ideology. I hold Muslims to a higher standard than I do Dick Cheney, CIA or other oil and power hungry thugs,

Many well known and respected senior U.S. military officers, intelligence
services and law enforcement veterans, and government officials have
expressed significant criticism of the 9/11 Commission Report or have made
public statements that contradict the Report. Several even allege
government complicity in the terrible acts of 9/11. This website is a

Listed below are statements by more than 110 of these senior officials.
Their collective voices give credibility to the claim that the 9/11
Commission Report is tragically flawed. These individuals cannot be simply
dismissed as irresponsible believers in some 9/11 conspiracy theory. Their
sincere concern, backed by their decades of service to their country,
demonstrate that criticism of the Report is not irresponsible, illogical,
nor disloyal, per se. In fact, it can be just the opposite. (continued

Well, I certainly created a storm, didn’t I? I can give you a few links where you can find the evidence I refer to for my conviction about Zionist Israeli conspiracy in 9/11; but you would need to be willing to read from “conspiracy nut” sites if you really want to examine the issue. You certainly won’t find any such information in “anti-conspiracy theory” books or sites.

I referred to this in my article on the FBI inciting “Muslim terrorism” in Oregon ( http://mystic444.wordpress.com/2010/11/29/fbi-incites-%E2%80%9Cmuslim%E2%80%9D-terrorism/ ). You can find a lot of information overturning the “official story” at such sites as:
    http://911truth.org/
    and http://stj911.org/

The site where I found most of my information specifically about Israeli conspiracy is “Ascertain the Truth” ( http://www.ascertainthetruth.com/att/ ). There is a tab at the top of the page labeled “9/11 and false flag operations” which you can click to find many articles about the subject; and you can also find a number of such articles by looking on the left side of the page under the heading “Most Popular”.

I’m not intending to create a lot of heat and dissent here. Having stated my belief, and given the links to where I found my information, I’ll leave it at that. It certainly doesn’t have much to do with the the above article. (And JihadBob is just being sarcastic in his “supportive” statements, as I’m sure can be easily discerned.)

Mindy1 – I hope you understand that my view in no way implies a dislike for Jews in general. I’ve specifically mentioned that I admire very much the Orthodox Jews Against Zionism position. I rather agree with them that Zionism is actually contrary to Judaism. However that may be, though, I would hope that though you may disagree with my position on this subject, you won’t find me objectionable overall.

Son there you go again citing all those statistics! Well here is one for you , you wet your bed 80% of the time when you watch Barney before you to bed! No more Barney for you.

  • Syed

Mosizzle asked, “Where did degenerate come from?”

An appropriate Freudian slip – after all you were thinking of JihadBob ;)

  • Mosizzle

*defend. Where did degenerate come from?

  • Mosizzle

No one is saying that. People might question why Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel benefitted the most from 9/11 because it “swung American opinion in their favour”. Even Osama himself was surprised that George Bush was more interested in reading stories to children then sorting out the situation.

“He was more interested in listening to the child’s story about the goat rather than worry about what was happening to the towers. So, we had three times the time necessary to accomplish the events.”

Enough talk of conspiracy theories, I don’t believe it. Typical JB to talk of conspiracy theories when he thinks Muslims are going to take over the world by stealth jihad and opening up community centers in New York and selling Halal soup. Why are you distracting the conversation by picking up on Stephen’s opinion, he’s entitled to believe what he wants.

Where were we before this started, ah yes, JihadBob was using opinion polls to uselessly degenerate his lame point.

  • JihadBob

Are you saying most Muslims are conspiracy nut-jobs?

  • Imad

    @ Jbob:

I’m not going down any conspiracy roads, and neither will LW, thank you.

  • JihadBob

I think LW should start some articles examining Israel’s role in the 9/11 attacks….

  • http://thebandofstrangers.blogspot.com/ Jack Cope

You’re telling me you believe everything the government says? Like Nassir, I am not one for the conspiracy theories, but at the same time there are a lot of holes in the government story and I think that this is a majority belief, that the government is hiding something. I mean, come on, how can you be spending so much on defense and the security services yet let something like that happen?

However, I think we should stop here, I believe bob is trying to drag people down that route so he has further ‘proof’ that we are whatever he want’s us to be in his and his supporters minds.

  • NassirH

A caveat: I don’t believe in any 9/11 conspiracy theories.

  • NassirH

Can someone tell my why Bobby, who sincerely believes that Muslims are about to overthrow Western Civilization any minute now, is preaching about conspiracy theories?

  • JihadBob

Stephen has said that he’s become convinced Israel had a role to play in 9/11 after he did research:

However I would like to respond to some of the things for which you produced poll figures. Only 45% believe that 9/11 was produced by a conspiracy between US and Israeli governments? As far as I’m concerned that’s a shamefully low figure!

The fact that the vast majority of Muslims reject the official government version of 9/11 should tell you that perhaps the government is hiding something.

Are the vast majority of Muslims wrong?

Are they ‘conspiracy nuts’ for believing Israel was involved?

  • JihadBob

Imad, perhaps you should consider Stephen’s beliefs that Israel was behind 9/11 before you go and dismiss his views?

Or do you think you know more than 45% of British Muslims who think 9/11 was a Mossad operation (twice the number than those who believed Muslims were the perpetrators)?

I know that if someone provide compelling evidence, I’m willing to change my views.

So, let’s hear it. What evidence is there that Israel was behind 9/11?

Why hasn’t Loonwatch done a cover story on this?

    Perhaps they should?

  • Imad

BTW what do you guys think of THIS:
U.S. ends push for settlement freeze.

    http://www.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/meast/12/08/israel.settlement.reaction/index.html

Pretty despicable, but its not like the U.S. was effective anyways right? STOP THE MONEY, and then Israel will LISTEN! I think its been done under the Eisenhower administration before

    http://www.ifamericansknew.org/us_ints/ob-norr.html

  • Imad

    @ JihadBob

Youre one to talk of evidence, tho honestly i do disagree with Parker’s position.

  • mindy1

Stephen, I normally like you, and I normally hate Jihadbob, but where IS the evidence Israel had ANYTHING had ANYTHING to do with 9/11? It’s comments like that that get under average people’s skin-the average Joe isn’t some conspiricy nut.

  • Hamza Y.

Sorry Stephen but you’re really naive if you think Israel was behind 9/11. I would understand had you said Israel had caused much of the discontent in Al Qaeda that LED to 9/11 but tying them in any way is quite foolish. This is coming from a Muslim too. Most of us don’t share your views. Almost all Muslims would agree that 9/11 was the work of radical muslims. Its almost undeniable especially considering Al Qaeda has caused lots of terror in not only the West but inside Muslim nations as well.

  • JihadBob

Do you have any evidence that Israel was behind 9/11?

  • http://www.mystic444.wordpress.com Stephen G. Parker

JihadBob – I live in the USA, and have never been anywhere else besides Canada. That’s why I said I can’t speak for the relationship between British law and Sharia.

As for Rabbi Rosen, after reading his clarification of his statements he sounds like someone I can very much respect. If his Judaism is of the Zionist variety, then he perhaps will be offended at my advocacy of a US and Israeli conspiracy in the 9/11 events. But as I said in a comment on the ‘“Racism Originated in the Torah” say Israeli Rabbis’ thread, some of the most outspoken opponents of the state of Israel are Orthodox Jews against Zionism; and I have considerable admiration for their position. My anti-Israel position is no more anti-Jewish than is that of the Orthodox Jews against Zionism. (See http://www.nkusa.org/index.cfm for instance).
