Terrorism in Europe, What if they were Muslim?

The anarchists seem to be on a tear across Europe.

Terrorism is a serious issue in Europe, but contrary to popular misperception it isn’t the Mooslims you should be worried about:

‘Wave of terrorism’: Blasts hit Rome embassies

ROME — An Italian anarchist group claimed responsibility for parcel bombs on Thursday that wounded two people at the Swiss and Chilean embassies in Rome, a reminder of home-grown threats at a time of political instability in Europe.

A Swiss man was seriously wounded and was rushed to hospital. The employee at the Chilean embassy was less seriously hurt. A note was found stuck to his clothing, claiming responsibility for the attack on behalf of the FAI, or Informal Anarchist Federation.

“We have decided to make our voice heard with words and with facts, we will destroy the system of dominance, long live the FAI, long-live Anarchy,” said the note, written in Italian, which was released in the evening by the police.

  • Well said Jack.

Anyway, I noticed that the news is making a furor over an alleged terror plot to attack the jyllands post offices. I can’t help but wonder given the timing if this isn’t an attempt by Danish police to keep Islamic terrorism in the spotlight. After all, there was just an anarchist attack in Europe. That might draw attention to other much more dangerous terrorist groups. Terrorist groups who might be native-born “whites” who are Christian or Atheists. And governments by and large do not want to focus on that threat.

I’m not denying the reality of Muslim terrorists. There ARE extremists in our religion just as any other. And they are dangerous both to us and non-Muslims. BUT… the media seems to make far more out of alleged Muslim terrorist plots than other equally kooky fringe groups. I’m not entirely convinced all of these would-be terrorists possess the capability (or even stomach) to carry out their planned attack. But I think the media and government are under pressure to use them to portray ALL Muslims as threats.

The government doesn’t want to deal with the street gangs or neo-Nazi movements because they don’t make good targets. They don’t want people to question other “whites” or “Christians.” Think about it. It would spread paranoia. People might leave churches, or suspect their neighbors, and so forth. The government and media don’t want that. So better to highlight Muslim lunatics than focus on “real Americans” who are stockpiling guns and explosives while awaiting the rapture.

  • Russia has huge issues and yes, Islamic terrorism is small fry compared to the other extremists. I think this was spelled out best when, after winning the hosting of the World Cup, many people had worries about racism/xenophobia/extreme nationalism in Russia. The Russian government of course scoffed at this and said it was nothing they couldn’t deal with. So right on cue a mob of hundreds of ‘football supporters’ who were ‘protesting’ something or other spotted some ‘immigrants’ and beat the crap out of them and the police had to rescue them leading to the standard pitched battles. Problem? Nope, that’s just normal… Я люблю Россию…

The Pat Robertson Blizzard thing was a joke 🙂

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/andy-borowitz/pat-robertson-snow-is-god_b_801755.html

But I hear he’s supporting pot. I think he’s definitely gone senile.

  • @ Mindy:

    > OT, but Pat Robertson claimes that the Blizzard was made by God in order
    > to “prevent people from doing something gay” when asked about the straight
    > people in NY, he said ‘if they were straight, why were they in NY” where
    > do these people come from? 😯

WTF? Considering all of his insane rants, I sometimes wonder whether Pat Robertson isn’t senile or something. It’d go a LOOONG way towards explaining some of his more bizarre claims. Then again, it still wouldn’t explain the morons who donate money to him…

Worth noting here, the evangelicals generally view everyone not like them as “the enemy.” We Muslims definitely qualify there, as do non-Christians, Catholics, Mormons, feminists, homosexuals, big business, foreigners, etc. They tend to be anti-city and anti-coast. One can see this with little robbie, who got bent out of shape about one of my off-hand comments about fly-over states. To Pat Robertson and his ilk, small towns represent the “heartland,” with “pure, hard-working white Christians.” Cities on the other hand are “liberal” and “evil.” LOL.

    @ Mike:

    > Check out what russia is considering its biggest threat to national
    > security, must be mooozlums right? Wrong..

At least some of the ethnic minorities in Russia, like Chechnya, Daghestan, the Tatars, and both Caucasian and Central Asian immigrants, ARE Muslim majority. The wave of nationalism hitting the Russian federation isn’t tied up with religion, but rather it’s part of a more complex series of ideas that define identity. The ethnic Russians, for example, are mostly Russian-speaking, Slavic people who historically lived west of the Urals, around Moscow and such. They have a shared history of Orthodoxy, Autocracy (under the Tsar or Soviets) and Nationalism.

The other minorities in Russia, be they indigenous or tracing their ancestry to one of the newly independent post-Soviet states, don’t. They have their own history, their own culture, their own identities. Some are Muslims, but there are also the Jews, Buddhist Kalmyks, shamanists all through the north (Shamanism is a state-recognized religion in Tuva), and Christians of other denominations, like the descendants Mennonites who had been invited by the Tsar to colonize Central Asia, or the Armenians. The Cossacks claim a separate identity. Even fellow Orthodox Slavs like the Ukrainians DO NOT think of themselves as “Russian,” or anything similar.

So the long and the short of it. Anti-Muslim or anti-Caucasian propaganda is less about religion and more about a resurgence of Russian nationalism, but religion is part of it. Sometimes. Bear in mind that Russia also has a hodge-podge of various non-Orthodox nationalists, including Rodnovery (Slavic/Russian neo-paganism, sometimes tied with neo-Nazism) and neo-Communists.

JihadBob: Your response is a complete fail. The only reason there is a “stream of apologetics” and the appearance of “moderate Muslims” is a REACTION to the incessant and predictable, knee-jerk outcry that Islam is evil and violent.

“The attack wasn’t designed to inflict mass casulaties.” What a ridiculous response. You’re right, this was a happy, friendly attack. Akin to putting a whoopie cushion under someone’s chair.

  • Mosizzle

“Each city, each town and village in Russia is multi-national. Any outbreak of nationalism in Russia will ruin the country, will ruin the society, the state, the culture, everything. Russia will be over,”

Nationalism is destructive in a every part of the world. It’s one thing to be proud of your country and another to think you are better than everyone simply because you were born on one side of an imaginary line.

  • Anj

Please tell me it’s not the same pat Robertson who claimed that the people of Haiti deserved the earthquake because they worship or made a pact with the devil?
    Classic
    P.s jahilbob! I like it!

Good Muhammad for calling him JahilBob.

SACRCASM: No this is a plot by the Moozlims who are taking over the world and this is a conspiracy by the Dhimmi, Leftist media.

    End part was sarcasm

  • mindy1

OT, but Pat Robertson claimes that the Blizzard was made by God in order to “prevent people from doing something gay” when asked about the straight people in NY, he said ‘if they were straight, why were they in NY” where do these people come from? 😯

  • Imad

    @ Jbob

“You should study Christianity from Christians rather than consult Professor Google and Mulim missionary websites.”

In the same comment, you posted a link to answering Islam, a notorious hate site.. Idk why ppl still take u seriously after that hypocritical blunder.

  • Cynic

I think JundallahBob was the best one :P.

  • muhammad ‘abd-al haqq

Well i can’t take credit for the play on his username 🙂

    Allahu A’lam

  • Justin

    JahilBob; so true. 😉

  • mindy1

Friggin anachists. Makes me wish we could take the extremists from ALL groups, lock them together and let the peaceful people be 😉

  • JahilBob, hmm, I like that. 😉

  • muhammad ‘abd-al haqq

    Mosizzle,

and this “and ‘moderate’ Muslims” from JahilBob reminds me that no matter what Bob says, he hates Muslims. Why else would he put the phrase in quotes? Wait…you know what, his whole comment reeks of bigotry…what was i thinking!

    Allahu A’lam

If they were Muslim, Spencer will have soiled himself with excitement.

“That and the fact the attacks wasn’t designed to inflict mass casualties.”

So you’re saying only Muslims design attacks that inflict mass casualties. Canada’s 9/11 caused by a Sikh extremist, in retaliation for the attack on their temple, killing 329:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Air_India_Flight_182

This reminds me of when you were asking for Sikh terrorist groups on a different thread.

  • JihadBob

    * attacks weren’t

    🙂

  • JihadBob

Well, there’s no endless stream of apologetics coming in from Western politicians, moon-bats, useful idiots and ‘moderate’ Muslims, this attack must not have been carried out by Muslims.

That and the fact the attacks wasn’t designed to inflict mass casualties.

  • Easy. If they were Muslim, the headlines would be screaming “terrorism.”

  • muhammad ‘abd-al haqq

Wait!, i thought not all Muslims are terrorists, but all terrorists are Muslim?

    Allahu A’lam
