Lord’s Resistance Army Murders Nun in Sudan, What if they Were Muslim?

It looks the LRA, a Christian terrorist militia which is seeking to structure society based on the Ten Commandments is becoming more active in South Sudan. Imagine if they were Muslims? You can be assured that the Islamophobes would be covering this in depth.

Sudan: Lord’s Resistance Army murders nun

The Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA), a brutal group that has moved into southern Sudan after compiling a bloody record of human-rights abuses in northern Uganda, has murdered a 37-year-old nun, according to Bishop Edward Hiiboro Kussala of Tombura-Yambio.

“Each day that goes by without a solution to the LRA problem is another day of terror and pain for those of us living under constant threat of renewed attacks,” the bishop told Aid to the Church in Need, as he discussed a recent rash of kidnappings and murders in recent weeks. “The threat of violence widening could stress any new government in South Sudan, ruining the resources of a young nation as it fights to protect its citizens and prevent others from being drawn into the struggle.”

I went through that article and checked the article it linked to and the article that article linked to and couldn’t find any actual evidence.

It appears, on the Leftist blogosphere, evidence is created when enough Leftist blogs begins begin citing one another to form a circular loop.

If it wasn’t clear in what I said, nor in the article itself, the “evidence” was the content of those documents that were taken from Egypt’s State Security buildings when the mob raided it, and the content of these documents is as good as anything on Wikileaks.

Furthermore, the link to those leaked documents can easily be found by anyone who bothered to explore any of the links in the article, such as this one:

    elbadil.net/%D8%AA%D9%82%D8%B1%D9%8A%D8%B1-%D9%85%D9%81%D8%B2%D8%B9-%D9%84%D9%84%D8%AC%D8%B1%D9%8A%D8%AF%D8%A9-%D8%A7%D9%84%D9%83%D9%88%D9%8A%D8%AA%D9%8A%D8%A9-%D8%AC%D9%85%D8%A7%D9%84-%D9%85%D8%A8%D8%A7%D8%B1/

The fact that you claim to have not found anything, means that you are either incredibly daft, or you didn’t really follow the links, or you simply needed to counter what I said.

Btw, what do the recent actions in Egypt have to do with the suicide bombing of Copts on New Years?

    Nothing.

Bob, we already know you only read one-sided news, but why do you dismiss the protests of Christians and Muslims once again in Tahrir Square as meaningless?

I don’t think anyone here believes that the Egyptian government is perfect – they definitely have a lot of issues needing to be sorted out, and the Copts have been treated badly in the past, this is not something certainly I (and I would imagine all LW posters – even the Egyptians!) deny. Hopefully Egypt as a whole has a brighter future ahead.

    ?

I simply brought up the Copts to make the point that whenever a church is burned down by a mob of thousands and a half dozen Copts are killed (in this case, at least nine, including a child), the NYT always runs these stories on its front page but ignores the actions of the LRA.

I’m sure there are hundreds of Copts protesting against the violence as your link shows, no one denies that.

  • Dawood

Yes, Bob, I wonder what the continued protests against attacking Copts has to do with it.

And as recent documents have revealed, it was Egypt Security that bombed the churches:

    @ Dan
[*yawn, another attempt to deny the crimes of Muslim extremists and to make the Taliban look like victims by the “big bad Americans”.]

Another failed attempt by the Islamphobe pretending to be Muslim to generate real discussion.

No doubt the recent killings of Copts in Cairo will be on the front page of the NYT tomorrow.

    John

This is about oppression and murder. Whether a person is my blood brother or brother in Islam is not the issue.

How do the police react to one of their own being killed?

How do the Israelis react to one of their own being killed?

You seem to be applying very different standards to ‘Muslims’ and the US/UK.

You talk about vengeance. Why did the US seek vengeance for the 9-11 attacks? Why did the US illegally invade two countries? Why has the US killed hundreds of thousands of civilians, in response to 9-11?

You talk about de-humanising the victims. Please read the other articles on this website and comment upon the attitude of some Americans towards Muslims. Why is Islamophobia accepted in the mainstream American media? Please also comment upon Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo Bay.

“No, if you live in a tyranny you fight and die to gain your freedoms like every other bugger, or stop complaining that your powerless or how your country is so hard done by.”

I agree with that but I also see the unfairness. For example, lots of the ‘free’ countries keep their ‘freedom’ by standing on others necks. Whether it be sweatshop workers toiling for 50p a day or families under the thumb of a sponsored dictator. And then of course we have the soldiers in your example, many from nations that are not free, that fought for the freedom of others. It seems that for 1 person to be free, 5 must be in tyranny. Life is truly shite…

“Anyways I have far greater worries, if my wife finds out I’ve been on some web chat thingy instead of working I’m dead, not just al Qaeda cut your head off dead, withering look dead – a fate worse than death. cheerio”

True, I always thought that women in fact rule the world through that method ;-)
