The Onion Spoofs Fox News? Hilarious!

Do you think The Onion is spoofing Fox News in this video clip? It would be hilarious if it wasn’t scary how real it is! OK fine, it is hilarious. But it is also scary. One would think that only in a spoof could anybody actually claim that there exist “decoy Muslims” but in fact the Islamophobes fear-monger about so-called “stealth jihad” all the time, which is essentially the exact same thing!

I have been following the onion for several years and have always found it funny. Recently I have been listening to The best of the left podcast. This podcast frequently references Fox news and plays clips from them- I thought the “the best of the left ” were spoofing the onion. Recently I have had access to fox news via satellite in the UK and have found out that is much more banal than even the onion portrays it! I have just switched on fox news after watching the opoening ceremony of the London olympics- and Fox are banging on about a speech made in 2009.

@ Danios! Nice video, it’s really irrelivant as you said but i like it. It is funny

Fox just sells panic . Well done the onion .
I agree with you there Danios . Its like the story of George Bush’s passport when he was elected . It had only two stamps on it. Mexico and Disney land . I have the impression that for many americans the world stops at the borders of the USA

  • Cynic

    LOL @ Danios’ link .

  • Danios

Actually, I take it back. The second clip I posted *is* relevant. The sad thing is that it is actually how our news in America is. Meanwhile, AlJazeera produces real news.

  • Dehnus

I love how they parodized that on those “News” shows in the USA they have these blond stereotypically “hot” looking news readers. Hot between brackets as I don’t find them that attractive hehe. But I hear others do :).

  • Farlowe

    “I’m on to you!”

  • Damn exposed yet again!

  • Danios

Haha, here’s a hilarious clip from The Onion (Super Pious Muslims beware: clip contains expletives):

I know it’s totally unrelated, but it’s just too funny.

  • DefenderofIslam

read the bottem text, it says things like “if you are a muslim becareful becuase you are also a terrorist”.

  • DefenderofIslam

That was satire, could hardly tell the diference between fox. I liked the very end when they where all argueing on agreeing, but i could have been watching fox news instead.

  • Khushboo

JD, you’re right. We should donate! I’m helping out through my friends on FB.

  • Khushboo

So funny that my sides were hurting. It’s scary b/c they’re so much like FOX!

  • I loved the last section about shooting brown people if you see them just in case and if they scream out in arabic upon dieing, you got a Muslim, if not it’s OK too šŸ˜€

Oh, and the Round Table with ‘everyone agreeing on solutions for Afghanistan’. Onion, we love you šŸ˜›

But yea, shame it could be Fox and hard to tell the difference…

  • mindy1

    *snort* the onion lolol

  • Daniel

It is sad that Fox isn’t to easy to distinguish from the Onion. But what’s sadder are the number of people who actually watch and believe it.

  • TheDemiprist
