Dozens of right-wing activists marching through Jerusalem Wednesday were filmed chanting inflammatory messages and singing provocative songs in the capital, including “Muhammad is dead,” “May your village burn,” “Death to leftists,” and “Butcher the Arabs.”

The disturbing utterances were made during the traditional “Flag Dance” on the occasion of Jerusalem Day, which drew tens of thousands of Israelis to the capital to celebrate its unification following the 1967 Six-Day War.

The offensive chants and songs can be clearly heard in the video, filmed by members of the Sheikh Jarrah Solidarity Movement. Elsewhere, Arab residents hurled stones at Jewish protestors during the tense day. The Jerusalem Police deployed in the city in force ahead of time in a bid to prevent friction between Jews and Arabs.

During Wednesday’s violent clashes, police detained at least 15 rioters, both Jewish and Arab. A focal point of tension was the Old City’s Damascus Gate, where Jewish marchers and Arab business owners hurled stones and fruit at each other. Some Jews entered the Muslim market in the area and chanted “Death to the Arabs” and “Muhammad is dead.”

More Jewish protestors were arrested nearby after yelling nationalistic chants and attempting to hurt Arabs.

Overall, two Jews and one Arab sustained light wounds as result of stone throwing during the day and received medical treatment.

Looks like the Israeli government has made commemorating the Nakba illegal. Will loons like JihadBob condemn Israel for prohibiting free speech and also designate most Israelis as fascists? Indeed, Bob has explicitly said that most Muslims are “Islamo-fascists” because, according to him, they’re against free speech. He has been silent about the numerous Islamophobes (e.g. Geert Wilders, Hugh Fitzgerald, etc.) who want to restrict the rights of Muslims, including the right to free speech. All this proves that “free speech” is nothing more than a power word that loons like to drop in order to attempt to legitimize their bigotry. In reality, Islamophobia, like other forms of prejudice, is antithetical to basic civil rights.

it is really amazing and rather amusing how anti-muslim people use the same arguments over and over again. That person that with the “Itbach al Yahud” is most probably Israeli.

i will tell you something interesting which may explain why his/her translation is a failure.
Of course he/she meant the Arabic word for slaughter, however, Israelis, cannot pronounce the letter correctly, they don’t say Hamas, they say khamas, however, israelis don’t right “kh”, instead they use “ch”

The following is something i was told by a Jewish Israeli.

It is interesting to know that Eastern Sephardi Jews (e.g Moroccan) could pronounce the H we are talking about correctly, Ashkenazis cannot, because they are basically Europeans who most of them cannot pronounce this H. Given he dominance of the Ashkenazi in Israel, most new generation Israelis now cannot pronounce this H, and many young Israeli Sephardi Jews don’t even know that their grandparents could pronounce this letter.

I think they meant “Itbak” rather than “Itbach”. It also annoys me to see the face veil that some Muslim wear described as a “nikab”.

The “Ala Akba” of a certain Australian black propaganda leaflet would have to be the worst example of misspelt Arabic though.

What is a “hasbarat”? Is this a real word or a made up term to describe the irrational name-calling zionist- Israel defenders.

If you have ever visited a blog or on-line discussion group on the Middle East you have doubtless had the misfortune to run into them.

They are known by the language they use: depraved sexual insults, bile, bigotry, threats, disinformation and character assassination. That’s right: I’m talking about “hasbarats,” zionist trolls who infect the Internet with hasbara, pro-Israel propaganda. Of course, mainstream media hasbarats have been around for decades, as have “hasbaratchiks,” fifth-columns in foreign governments who subvert national policies to serve Israel. The Internet, though, is the latest, some might say the greatest, propaganda playground, and Israel cannot cope with factual, passionate, well-documented stories that expose its war crimes and unrepentant criminality.

If you’ve come across a hasbarat, on-line or otherwise, you have learned that no amount of reasoned argument or intellectual maturity has any effect. That’s because hasbarats don’t care if they come across as ignorant, obnoxious, nasty or inane. All that matters for them is sabotaging criticism of Israel and support for Muslims.
