“Christmas Tree Tax” Conspiracy Theory to Prove Obama’s “Islamicness”

The stupidity knows no bounds.

Fox Contributor Uses Artificial “Christmas Tree Tax” Outrage To Insinuate Obama Is Channeling “The Islamic World”

(Media Matters)

Days late to the artificial war on Christmas trees, Fox News contributor Tammy Bruce is accusing President Obama of displaying “contempt for Christianity” by levying a tax on Christians that she says is rooted in Muslim tradition.

On November 6, the U.S. Department of Agriculture approved a plan initiated by tree farmers during the Bush administration to levy a fee on large tree farmers. The assessment was intended to fund a marketing campaign promoting fresh Christmas trees. Media conservatives quickly launched a false attack on the Obama administration, which subsequently announced that the industry-backed fee would be put on hold.

Bruce dismissed the undisputed fact that the fee was sought by tree growers, modeled on similar USDA initiatives including the “Got Milk?” and “Beef: It’s What’s for Dinner” campaigns. Pointing to the innocuous fact that the Obama administration has issued decrees honoring the Muslim holiday, Eid al-Adha, Bruce instead argued that the “checkoff” fee — sought under a 1996 farm act — is further evidence that Obama is “pandering to Muslims” while showing “contempt for Christianity”:

Oh sure, the Fed is saying it was a marketing fee for the Christmas tree “industry,” to supposedly improve the image of the apparently much hated and dreaded tree. The fact is it was a tax meant to fund a board appointed by a federal agency targeting one religion and one religion only — Christianity.

There is a precedent for this — in the Muslim world it’s called the “Jizya” — a tax levied on non-Muslim citizens in the Islamic world, allowing them to practice their religion while being “protected” by the Muslim state.

In our case, it seems more like an atheistic federal government looking for tribute by those pesky Christians who dare to think there is a higher authority than the permanent political class.

Bruce’s vitriolic screed is being promoted at Fox Nation as evidence of Obama’s “War on Christianity.”

I seem to recall that Christian Charlemagne wasn’t too pleased with the tree Irminsul. So the Xmas tree has nothing to do with that pagan custom?

Cartoon, so among the first people to convert to Christianity i.e. the local Semitic Arabs don’t believe in Isa (alaihis salam) but “J”esus?

  • Johan Berggren

Well, the chistmas tree, or Yule Spruce (sw. Julgran) as we more correctly call it in Sweden, is originally of pagan germanic origin.

The Yuletide is deeply rooted in several pagan traditions that were co-opted by the early christians. They probable didn’t know when Jesus were born so why not use the already existing resurrection holiday tied to the winter solstice to hail his birth? As an ardent unbeliever I rather enjoy the joyful profaneness and the diverse origins of the contemporary yuletide celebrations.

But the most “rational” thing for the more loony parts of all servants of JHVH would be to emulate the puritan regime of Cromwell and ban christmas.

I see many opinions and few facts. has a statistical, absolute, one page proof that God authored the Bible. If true, what authority does one use to defend any fact that disagrees with it?

  • @ JD
Yes, this is like right-wing terrorism here in the US. While minorities are a target, usually police are the first to be targetted.

    @ Mustafa H.E

Th Democrats are the world’s biggest spinless wonders. Because of 25 plus years of largly Republicans in the Whitehouse – Democrats have given comprimises to Republicans in their goal to strip Americans of meaningful social safety nets.
I would like to vote for somebody else but a Democrat, one that will be STRONG, and work to restore social safety nets and bring real human rights to America!

  • Omar

LMAO. Foxnation closed their comments after so many people exposed the hypocrisy of Bruce.

  • Farlowe

I hope the person known as @revenge is not a muslim!

  • Ummer

What a load of rubbish, the Christmas tree is the biggest contempt against Christianity!

    Jeremiah 10 proves that point.

  • Mustafa H.E.

My biggest deal with the Christmas tree tax is that is puts a VERY SMALL tax on a commodity. If we want to get serious about raising taxes to pay for our debt and budget deficit, we should raise the income tax on all income levels, especially the upper class.

But Obama is too much of a panzy-ass to propose that. Barack Obama is a president with absolutely no fight in him whatsoever, the Odumbo was willing to bend over backwards to the Tea Party and Donald Trump when they asked for his birth certificate, which was a really a bad show on Obama’s part.

  • Stoned Gremlin

War on christianity? Is tree decorating a command from Yahweh in any case?

    Germany probes suspected far-right murders

Prosecutors in Germany say they have found evidence to link the murders of 10 people over seven years to far-right extremists.

Eight of the victims were of Turkish origin, one was Greek and one was a German policewoman.

Nine were small businessmen – mainly kebab stall owners – who were shot in the face in broad daylight at their places of work.

The murders were committed in several German cities between 2000 and 2007.

Police did not at first link the killings to neo-Nazis until the discovery last week of two handguns in a burnt-out house and caravan in the eastern German town of Zwickau.

There they also found the bodies of two men suspected of having taken part in an attack on two police officers in the city of Heilbronn in south-west Germany in 2007.

In the 2007 attack, a policewoman was killed and her male colleague seriously injured.

The two guns were thought to have been used in the policewoman’s murder and the killings of the small businessmen.

    ‘Trail of blood’

The evidence found included DVDs prepared for sending to news agencies and Muslim cultural centres, containing propaganda for a neo-Nazi group.

“There is sufficient evidence to attribute the murders to an extreme right-wing group,” a statement from the Federal Prosecutors’ Office said.

Police identified the two men found dead in the caravan as Uwe B and Uwe M – they are thought to have committed suicide.

Police also arrested a woman identified as Beate Z who was described as the two men’s “companion”.

All three were known to belong to extreme right-wing groups.

The woman faces charges of murder, attempted murder, arson and belonging to a terrorist organisation.

The head of the German police trade union, Bernhard Witthaut, said the evidence so far suggested “a right-wing extremist terror cell has left an atrocious trail of blood”.

Germany’s far-right is small and politically marginalised, but has given rise to concern with periodic attacks on immigrants.

Germany is home to some 3,000,000 people of Turkish origin.

Good – I’m glad most people are “bed fellows of Muslims,” me included!

    Ignorance thy name is cartoon!

  • Usually, the the mentally ill are not supposed to vote until they return to sound mental health. It’s quite easy to see that it is delusional to believe that a “Christmas tree tax” is real, and even if it was, it has nothing to do with Islam. The fundie Christians believe that the Christmas tree is a pagan symbol anyway.

Also – I’m celebrating this week, as the Egyptians have refused an entrance visa to that insane loon, PVV Brownshirt, Raymond de Roon. The visit was to be yet another propaganda visit and a another chance for the radicals in the Dutch FM to promote religious conflict. Doing something productive in the Arab Spring is not what the Dutch are capable of…

Perhaps Raymond de Roon is a secret Nazi, but he’s a not so secret Zionist…

  • Yusuf

Ok, so a tax that is used to promote Christmas trees is some pro-Muslim anti-Christmas thing? It is to promote real trees for Christmas. While I agree the government shouldn’t influence whether a Christian wants to put an artificial or real tree in their home this is in no way an attack on Christmas or Christmas trees. If anything I could see an Atheist lawsuit that this in fact endorses Christmas and infringes on the 1st Amendment.

  • TheBigT89

    @ Cartoon
I don’t know what kind of drugs you’re snorting to come up with these baseless accusations of the Prophet (PBUH).
Since when are Atheists and Muslims are considered “Bedfellows”. both sides have animosity towards each other (that doesn’t mean that all Muslim or Atheists hate each other)

  • Robert Spinster

I do not feel offended at all when I hear people talk about Christmas or me seeing the Nativity.

I think many of the paintings are quite beautiful, as a matter of fact.

Muslims do believe that it is wrong to celebrate Christmas since it means worshiping the creation when worship should be directed towards the Creator.

While Muslims do believe that celebrating Christmas is wrong, it is not permitted in Islam to ban Christmas for Christians, as to do so would constitute violating their legal rights, which Muslims believe God (May He be Exalted) gave. The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said that whoever violates the rights of non-Muslims and makes life too hard for them would have the Prophet (pbuh) complain against them on The Day of Judgement, and the individual who was being complained against would never smell the fragrance of Paradise.

Are you KIDDING me? How many times do we have to repeat OBAMA IS CHRISTIAN! Also, what’s all this fuss about “jizya”? EVERYBODY, Muslim or non-Muslim would have to pay taxes in an Islamic State. If you were Muslim, then you paid zakat, and if you were non-Muslim, you paid jizya. ANYBODY who didn’t pay taxes would be punished, regardless of religion.
