At Geller-Spencer’s CPAC Panel, Anti-Muslim Activist Says He’s Proud of Attacks on Mosques

At Geller-Spencer’s CPAC Panel, Anti-Muslim Activist Says He’s Proud of Attacks on Mosques

by Charles Johnson (Little Green Footballs)

Speaking today at the unofficial CPAC panel “Islamic Law in America: How the Obama Justice Department Is Selling Us Out,” sponsored by Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer, James Lafferty of the Virginia Anti-Sharia Task Force was “proud to say” that most of the mosques attacked in the US were in the South: CPAC: Anti-Muslim Activist James Lafferty Says He’s ‘Proud’ of Attacks Against Mosques.

Well with what the gentleman was saying about the Justice Department, I went to the briefing, the hate crimes summit, and I went there and it was all Muslim officials speaking and they had all these pictures of some mosque somewhere, and it was usually in the South I’m proud to say where a guy would drive a pickup truck right into the mosque. They had I bet 20—it looked like the same picture after a while because they just kept showing these same pictures, and each Muslim speaker got up, and remember this is a Justice Department meeting, and really ragged on two groups: the FBI and the NYPD. So whatever they’re doing they’re doing something good.

This is far from the first example; Geller and Spencer are usually too cunning to express this kind of open support for anti-Muslim violence, but their associates … not so much: Pamela Geller Associate John Jay Openly Calls for Mass Murder.

Meanwhile, after ranting earlier this week that no one reads LGF or takes me seriously, and that I was a “boil on the ass of the blogosphere,” Geller blocked me on Twitter, then proceeded to tweet the following to me today — even though, since she blocked me, I was unlikely to even see it. (I only saw it because one of her followers retweeted it.)

It’s nice to know that Pamela Geller, Robert Spencer, and Andrew Breitbart all have a little internalized version of me living inside their heads, making them miserable.

    The minute these people are charged with hate crimes or inciting hate crimes, they begin to back-peddle. That’s why Spencer and Geller don’t directly endorse or advocate hate crimes against law-abiding Muslims and their houses of worship.

    Hit that Lafferty fool with some legal action and he’ll do the same.

  2. JT Says:

    Now we’re seeing their true colours. In public, they’ll claim to defend human rights, that they “love peaceful Muslims” and only have a problem with “radical Islam”, but what they say in private is completely different.

  3. rookie Says:

    Sick people!!!

  4. mindy1 Says:

    People ignorant of history are doomed to repeat it-in Nazi Germany they started burning Jewish owned businesses and synagogues, and we all know what happend to the Jews next… :(

  5. khushboo Says:

    So whatever they’re doing they’re doing something good”

    It’s not clear as to who specifically he’s talking about. Is he saying that he’s glad Muslims are ragging on NYPD and FBI because it’ll make them look bad?

  6. GellerSaidWhat??? Says:

    Lmfao!!!!!, wasn’t Geller praising these marines when they peed on the Taliban Fighters?

    Unbelievable, I have got to see what Geller has to say about this.

    @Mooneye

    Anyone not infected with the Islamophobic virus is going to be appalled by what that guy said. Hopefully even some people who listen to people like Spencer and Geller will be appalled by what he said, and hopefully begin to rethink their position.

  8. HGG Says:

    Unfortunately, to even attend an event like that is to be already ‘infected’. And the scary thing is that Spencer and Geller attract people even worse than them.

  9. ilfdinar Says:

    I don’t think they mean most of what they say they just are making money off of dummies

  10. Sean Thompson Says:

    I ws once a devout follower of Spencer’s cult. I thought he was a brilliant scholar who was actually out there to save Western Civilization from the Islamic “menace”.

    I really did believe that Muslims (Liberals) were trying through a mixture of lying, political correctness, and conspiracy trying to overthrow the west and to replace it with Taliban style regimes where non Muslims would be treated as second class citizens. I would talk to other people about the Muslim invasion too, and they would actually believe me…..

    Hatred of Muslims/Islam is no good and can only be rotten. Reading and trusting Spencer and thus succumbing to Islamophobia means accepting a life full of fear, hatred, paranoia, and all other sorts of negativity…

    To all Muslims: I am so sorry that I actually bought in to what these evil people were saying. I am so sorry that I spread and encouraged hateful propaganda against you all and your path. I deeply apologize and and I sincerely regret doing it.

  11. Sean Thompson Says:

    Muslims and Islam are as much a part of the West as Christians or Jews and Christianity and Judaism are.

  12. Inspired by Mohammad Says:

    Thanks for this Mooneye,

    I’m beginning to like Charles Johnson more and more. He is one example of an Islamophobe who saw the light and mended his ways. God bless him.

  13. Inspired by Mohammad Says:

    Sean Thomson,

    Thank you for your thoughts. As long as you realise that you were wrong, and more importantly saw how they lie, that is encouraging. It means, it’s not just an uphill struggle for us :)

    I saw your comment after I wrote the comment above about Charles Johnson, who too was an Islamophobe at one time. Then he saw how those with an agenda were manipulating the climate of fear.

    I can accept that there are those who are genuinely concerned and whose Islamophobia may be rooted in true feelings of horror. Unfortunately these are the people who are targeted by Islamophobes to exploit, and after 9/11 it was easy to exploit the climate of fear.

    Thankfully, people are waking up to the truth. It doesn’t mean we do not have Muslims extremists who pose a threat, we do, and it’s a problem that requires a solution, but it also means, that people can see where the real problem is , and distinguish between those who seek to exploit it.

    Robert Spencer, Pam Geller, definately fall into that category. As do all the regular Islamophobes featured here (Brigette Gabriel etc.)

  14. Reynardine Says:

    “We’re coming to get you, Chuckie?” You looking into the legal aspects of this?? I bet they’re real interesting!!

  15. JD Says:

  16. Susie Says:

    If someone tweeted a message to geller like that, she would probably scream jihadist!

    If someone tweeted a message to geller like that, she would probably scream jihadist! (even though she has no clue what jihad is).

  18. JT Says:

    How would Spencer and Geller react if Lafferty was a Muslim who was proud of attacks on Coptic Churches?

  19. CriticalDragon1177 Says:

    @JT

    You wrote,
    “How would Spencer and Geller react if Lafferty was a Muslim who was proud of attacks on Coptic Churches?”

    I think we know the answer to that. We can easily imagine how quickly they would condemn him and talk about how his statements were supposedly motivated by Islam.

  20. Sam Seed Says:

    @Sean Thompson…..

    Glad you realised the error, unfortunately for many followers of this fake scholar it may be too late and have buried themselves in hatred and thus have become Islamophobic zombies.

  21. CriticalDragon1177 Says:

    @Sam Seed

    I’m certain he appreciates it.

    I used to believe people like Robert Spencer, much the same way, Sean Thompson used to and like him, I feel a lot of guilt over it. In part because of whatever damage I may have done, and obvious it becomes how nonsensical what he is saying actually is, once you actually look at it critically and examine the overwhelming evidence against it. I’m an former Islamophobe and supporter of Spencer as well. If there are two of us, now supporting the fight against him and his anti Muslim bigotry, commenting on the same blog, that’s a positive sign, don’t you think?

  22. khushboo Says:

    Sean, thank you for your comments! Forget about the past and start fresh, full of sanity. :D

  23. Abdul-Rahman Says:

    This racist fool Lafferty being “proud” of the stain of bigotry in the South, what’s next is he going to take pride in the KKK bombing churches back in the time of MLK as well.

  24. Sam Seed Says:

    @CriticalDragon1177

    I did not know you were a former Islamophobe, really glad you have changed. Changed so much, infact I thought you were a Muslim! May Allah guide you my friend and Peace to you.

  25. CriticalDragon1177 Says:

    @Sam Seed

    Really? I never was a Muslim, but many Islamophobes are former Muslims or at least claim to be. Its really strange given how nonsensical much of what they say about Islam actually is, and how quick they are to judge other people who are still Muslims.
