Allen West Believes Over 40% of House Democrats are Communists

Allen West not only believes that there is a stealth movement among Muslim Americans, but is convinced that there are 80 house Democrats that are alleged communists.

WASHINGTON — As many as 80 House Democrats are communists, according to Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.).

West warned constituents at a Tuesday town hall event that he’s “heard” that dozens of his Democratic colleagues in the House are members of the Communist Party, thePalm Beach Post reported. West wouldn’t elaborate beyond that, however, and didn’t offer up any names. There are currently 190 House Democrats.

A request for comment from West’s spokeswoman was not immediately returned.

During the same event, which took place at Jensen Beach, the freshman Republican said President Barack Obama wouldn’t have a public debate with him over their policy differences because he was “scared.” The president was in Florida on Tuesday giving remarks about the economy and holding campaign events.

“I really wish that, standing here before you, was Allen West and President Obama,” West said, according to the Palm Beach Post. “We could have a simple discussion. But that ain’t ever gonna happen.”

When an audience member asked why, West said in “a mocking voice” that it was because Obama “was too scared.”

I don’t know where you get your information, but your statements are very askew. Oh, you’re a communist. Look at Greece, Spain, France. All have socialistic, Left liberal governments where the nanny state has been taking care of and redistributing wealth to its citizens. What condition are they in? It truly has nothing to do with the uber- rich. Their standard of living is not as great as you seem to think. I do not want to live in a socialist environment because then everybody suffers.

@Susanna, I think that is an exceptional insight that not too many people have seen before. In fact, I believe that is a paraphrase of the second part of the famous slogan often repeated by socialists (and communists): “to each according to his contributions.”

Reading your discussion of a goal that relates to that slogan helps me better understand the thinking behind a lot of the statements in your comment that had otherwise confused me.

Lets say that socialism in its pure form opens the door to communism. Marxist socialism could never achieve true communism because it never works. Instead, it repressed its citizens in the ideology of social justice and collective thinking. While one wants to achieve freedom, it stifles the will to succeed and do better. Lets say communism created genocide in the name of the state.

Socialism still needs a capitalistic government to satisfy its needs to redistribute wealth, taxation in the form of social welfare and government regulation of the private sector to eventually be in charge of it. therefore, every aspect of the citizens life is regulated by the central government, a government too big.

They mention social justice which is a synonym for communism. Liberalism is a step toward socialism. True liberalism probably looks more like the basis for our government- the Constitution.

I am a Republican, but am a conservative. The Republican party has a lot of Progressives in it, hence the RHINO. Conservatives are for limited government, fiscal responsibility, and the freedom to pursue happiness. It adheres to the Constitution and upholds the Bill of Rights. Remember, the government does not give the freedom of speech or freedom of religion or to assemble to bring redress. These rights are God given to free men to pursue life, liberty and happiness. The government is to protect these rights. The bigger the government, the less freedoms.

You seem to be projecting all the attributes of the Democrats onto the Republicans. Democrats are not the party of my father. They have morphed into Progressive socialists that are using class warfare in order to bring Leftist Liberal idealogy in the name of the “common man”. It all sounds so good but is doomed to fail. Look at Europe.

So maybe you are a sick puppy drinking the kool-aid of utopian thinking. We all want the best for every member of our society, but the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence must be the continuing foundation of the most productive and generous society on earth.

For Susanna – The problem with “communism” is that the definition used by uneducated Americans living in the Cold War may be specific to the former Soviet Union. Soviet communism was created from the historical references of Russia at the time of the Bolishivk Revolution (in 1917). There are many different forms of communism. For example, China is said to be communist, but many American companies have moved their operations there, “outsourced.” So, is China still a “tyrannical and brutal communist nation?!”

Yes – it is…but not for American Capitalists, many of whom vote Republican!

For many Americans who don’t understand that there is a difference between communism and socialism think that socialism and communism are one and the same. They are not. They think that “communism” is about workers’ rights and wealth redistribution to lower classes. NOPE! The Soviet Union was not about workers’ rights or wealth redistribution to the lower classes. Many people starved and died in the Soviet Union and the wealth of the country was in the hands of the Communist Party. The country is said to have killed off its military officers, thereby allowing the Nazi army to just walk in. For a time, scientists and educated people were locked up until Nikita Khrushchev realized that science and a Soviet space program could be good for Soviet prestige.

Let me tell you what “communism” also is: Communism is an ANTI-GOVERNMENT SYSTEM! Socialism was supposed to be the first stop toward communism – a total absence of government, where government disappeared. This never happened in the Soviet Union, because it was against the best interests of the Communist Party. The only party allowed to rule was the Communist Party, and there was NO multiparty system.

I do not ever vote for a Republican, it would be to vote against my best interest – and Republicans and the Tea Party – that are ANTI-GOVERNMENT and have desired ONE PARTY rule in the US, including concentration of wealth in the hands of a few. Here’s how Republicans are close to Soviet Communists:

*It’s Republicans have expressed a long-term desire for one party rule of only Republicans;

*It’s Republicans that want to destroy government;

*It’s Republicans that fear science and scientific endeavors;

*It’s Republicans that want to squash the religious freedoms of others, Muslims, but others that don’t agree with fundamentalist Christian beliefs;

*It’s Republicans that want concentration of national wealth to the hands of a few that support their Social Darwin notions about America.

*The fact remains that Democrats stand for freedom, justice and equality more so than Republicans.

That you *Beyond-The-Political-Spectrum* you are SO right about both communism and the Republicans’ closeness to communism! Herman Cain is living in the 1950s, as many Republicans. For all their accusations against “Islam,” it’s Republicans like Cain that must face modernity and what it means to live in a liberal and pluralist democracy!

So, I’d like to know how you -Susanna – define “communist” and “communism?” From that definition, I’d like to know what makes the House members on the list “communist.”

Communist theory suggest that government will eventually become irrelevant and dissolve when the people and workers rise up. Considering Conservatives are always clamoring for “less government,” THEY are more ideologically closer to Communists than Democrats…after all, they ARE in “Red States.”

Well to Cain and his ilk, one does not have to have membership in the Communist Party USA to be a “communist.” “Communist” means supporting workers rights and social justice. This would also make the Catholic Church quite “communist.”
