Marine Le Pen Tells Jerusalem Post that Sarkozy has Encouraged ‘Fundamentalists’, Claims UOIF has Called for Murder of Jews

Marine Le Pen, the National Front candidate for the French presidential election, accused rival President Nicolas Sarkozy of having sent “a simple message” when some Islamists were arrested on French territory, after French forces assaulted Mohamed Merah’s house last month. Le Pen was speaking at a press conference with foreign journalists in her campaign headquarters at Nanterre, west of Paris.

Responding to a question from The Jerusalem Post, following the surprising absence of mentions in electoral debates of the shootings in the southern French town of Toulouse, Le Pen criticized Sarkozy, calling his crackdown on Islamists “merely electoral agitation after the Merah affair.”

“A few arrested Islamists and that is all… [Sarkozy] is not dealing with the real problem of fundamentalism, although he has been in charge of national security for the past 10 years.” For Le Pen, Sarkozy, like his predecessors, “deliberately downplayed the threat from Islamists who want to see France as we know it disappear in favor of Shari’a.”

Going further, she accused her main rival for the voice of the right wing to have even “opened the door to the UOIF (militant Muslim organization in France) who called for the murder of Jews”. “He provided the first steps to the ladder for the fundamentalists in France and internationally,” she said.

NurAlia – Ok, I get it. I see now. Sorry…

What I mean is that there is a whole other discourse when the suspect of a violent crime is a Muslim. What do you think the discourse in the media and government would be if “it was found out that One Goh was converting to Islam?”

We can only see past cases of violent criminal events to see how crimes by Muslims are treated differently and put into “terrorism and national security” discourse. The “jihad terrorist” shootings in France are reminiscent of the Theo van Gogh murder, that it was “an act of terrorism” and the truth could be that the murder was not “an act of terrorism.” From the Theo van Gogh murder we have a whole genre of “jihad in the Netherlands” books under “terrorism and security” discourse. In reality, the only one who called Mohammed Bouyeri a “terrorist” and Hofstadgroep “an international Islamic terrorist organization” was the Dutch intelligence group, AIVD, nobody else. The truth could very well be that Hofstadgroep was just an ethnic Moroccan street gang and nothing more.

The turning of the murder of Theo van Gogh into “an act of international terrorism” has resulted in the justification of policies and practices by the Dutch State that would not be tolerated against non-Muslims. This includes “radicalization models” that turn legally protected religious and political activity into “a national security issue.” Sharia4Holland is actually dangerous than the PVV is to Dutch democracy.

Yep – you are someone who understands Machiavelli’s basics. In diplomacy, not every handshake and agreement with the diplomats of another nation should be taken as totally honest. There must be an assumption that when leaders and actors of the State are involved – one must be suspect of the actions, policies and statements. Turning the Theo van Gogh murder into “terrorism” has helped advance agendas of various actors, both outside and inside Dutch politics and government. What the “terrorist” murder also did was to alter relations between the Dutch State and other nations, including the United States. Note that everytime a Dutch government official comes to the US, the discussion is almost always on “security, cyber security, counter-terrorism and police in counter-terrorism.” We have the murder of Theo van Gogh defined as an “act of terrorism” at the root of this rubbish .

    @eslaporte.

I think if you read my comment, you will find that I agree with you. If the murderer of the French soldiers…who was supposedly under survallence…whould have been arrested after this crime, the Rabbi and the children at the school would not have been murdered.

A person like the one who walks through his former school and shoots his fellow students and teachers point blank is ‘insane’, seemingly because his name is not ‘Muhammad’ of ‘Fatimah’. Only totalitarian regimes define a crime based on the victims and offenders…which tells you how sometimes the ‘rule of law’ is not applied in America.

However, unfortunatly there is no political ‘points’ that can be had by the murder of dark skinned, or Muslim soldiers, and no way to ‘socially engineer’ a soceity out of fear.

It is easy, given the guilt that is never allowed to die, or the seemingly never forgiving mindset…that always is allowed to fester in the form of ‘rememberance’ that some people have on the Europeans for an atrocity that happened a generation ago…to play on that to engineer a bigoted, hateful society that blames ‘the other’…rather than deal with the REAL issues, like thier economies, and failed social polices.

Just like 9/11, when American law enforcement, and intelligence were screaming to the top of every hill for the Bush Administration to take seriously the threats that al Quid’a ‘was planning to use civilian airplanes as weapons’…a series of ‘conecidental failures’ od safety and secueity measures on that day allowed it to happen.

We have to remember, that in this world there are people who would sacrifice the lives of innocent people for political gain, fame and fortune. Loonwatch focuses on the ‘minor players’…such as Pam Geller and Robert Spencer…but understand clearly…that not everyone who shakes your hand and smiles in your face is your friend…and not everyone who offends your sence of security is your enemy.

@Aspie and Atheist- It’s shameful how two of the three North African French paratroopers that were killed were given Islamic burial rites (one was buried at home in Morocco with military honors)- there is no concern about these victims.

What “fundamentalism” is there in France? A single gunman goes on a shooting rampage – and we “have a problem with Islamist networks.” No you don’t! There is no problem from “Islamist networks” in Europe like there is with the radical right, like the English Defense League. There are probably vastly more radical right and Nazi networks than so-called “Islamist-jihad” networks.”

@ NurAlia – you are falling into the trap of believing that crimes by Muslims are “terrorism.” A week later, there was a shooting with seven people dead in a nursing classroom at a college in Oakland, California. The gunman, One Goh, was a Korean American. The shootings in France by Mohamed Merah can be compared to the shootings in Oakland California. Remember horrible crimes by Muslims are “terrorism” and “jihad,” but horrible crimes by Non-Muslims are horrible crimes due to insanity or “anger management problems.”

These arrests are nothing more than political theater. If this “Islamist network” (what baloney!) was so dangerous, why not make arrests BEFORE the shootings? Also – most of those arrested have been released. It’s time to start “cracking down” on the LePens and the Wilders of the world, the radical right must go…

  • NurAlia

Had they caught the radicals who were supposedly ‘under survallence’ when they killed the French soldiers, there would be nothing for LePen to be talking to Israeli press about.

Again…a series of ‘coincidental failures’ allowed for the Rabbi and those children in the Jewish school to happen. I dont belive that the French government was totally surprised that the murderer would not do this.

Or…perhaps, just like ’9/11′…when intelligence agencies and law enforcement were screaming and jumping for the US govenment to take action against terrorist ‘wanting to use airplanes to kill people’…they ‘ignored it’ until they could get some policial and social engineering out of a horrid event.

We have many in this world who ‘play’ off the tragedy of others. Many now who make thier fame, fortune, and excuses not to live by the same standards of humanity, ethics, and morals of civilized society.

  • Aspie and Atheist

Why are French candidates immediately reactive to murder of Jews but whenever Muslims are killed they seem so much more indifferent?

  • MasterQ

She’s crazy, doesn’t she want to kick all the Muslims out of France?

  • mindy1

@Crow, because hate increases stress, lowers the immune system…

  • crow

Why do all these right-wingers look like they have something wrong with them?
