The Nuclear Card

Charles L. Worley, North Carolina Pastor: Put Gays And Lesbians In Electrified Pen To Kill Them Off

Posted on 23 May 2012 by Amago

This is just plain craziness. All fundamentalists, of one stripe or another are terrified by the personal lives of homosexuals:

Charles L. Worley, North Carolina Pastor: Put Gays And Lesbians In Electrified Pen To Kill Them Off

The barrage of anti-gay sermons delivered by North Carolina-based pastors to hit the blogosphere continues with yet another disturbing rant caught on tape.

The pastor, identified on YouTube as Charles L. Worley of Providence Road Baptist Church in Maiden, N.C., condemns President Obama’s much-publicized endorsement of same-sex marriage while calling for gays and lesbians to be put in an electrified pen and ultimately killed off.

“Build a great, big, large fence — 150 or 100 mile long — put all the lesbians in there,” Worley suggests in the clip, reportedly filmed on May 13.

He continues: “Do the same thing for the queers and the homosexuals and have that fence electrified so they can’t get out…and you know what, in a few years, they’ll die out…do you know why? They can’t reproduce!”

He also said that if he’s asked who he’ll vote for, he’ll reply, “I’m not going to vote for a baby killer and a homosexual lover!” Many of the congregants cheer and reply, “Amen.”

Worley added, “It makes me pukin’ sick to think about — I don’t even whether or not to say this in the pulpit — can you imagine kissing some man?”

The pastor’s comments seem in line with statements made by Ron Baity, founding pastor of Berean Baptist Church in Winston-Salem and head of the anti-marriage equality organization Return America, who told his own congregation that lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people should be prosecuted as they were historically, and Pastor Sean Harris of the Berean Baptist Church in Fayetteville who advocated parents “punch” their male child if he is effeminate and “crack that wrist” if he is limp-wristed.

Similarly, Tim Rabon, pastor at Raleigh’s Beacon Baptist Church, condemned states such as Massachusetts, Connecticut and Maryland which have already “re-defined” marriage to include lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) couples before asking his congregants, “What is stopping them from refining marriage from a person and a beast? We’re not far from that.”

Looks like Christianity’s wacko’s are just like our wacko’s,”Godly”……

  • Sam Seed

@Deccal, no it doesn’t happen in mosques every friday, just your wishful Islamophobic thinking.

Maybe you could quote the Bible as well.

Well another one who puts the mental into fundaMENTALism

does this mean all Christians are as awful as this man?

most religions are fine, it is only when people claim to speak for god that they go tits up

  • Steve

“Besides the point. The point of the post is say how Christian homophobia is not used to discredit Christianity in the same way that Muslim homophobia is used to discredit Islam in the eyes of most Westerners”

Maybe you misssed the current argument in England about gay marriages and the opposition from the church of england?

What Mr. Worley says is probably echoed in mosques on friday all around the world.

If two men among you are guilty of lewdness, punish them both. If they repent and amend, Leave them alone; for Allah is Oft-returning, Most Merciful.
    Qur’an 4:16

We also (sent) Lut: He said to his people: “Do ye commit lewdness such as no people in creation (ever) committed before you? For ye practise your lusts on men in preference to women : ye are indeed a people transgressing beyond bounds. And his people gave no answer but this: they said, “Drive them out of your city: these are indeed men who want to be clean and pure!” But we saved him and his family, except his wife: she was of those who legged behind. And we rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): Then see what was the end of those who indulged in sin and crime!
    Qur’an 7:80

Maybe this right-wing preacher is crazy, but one thing for sure: he’s ignorant.

The assumption that he’s incorrectly making is that homosexuals are produced by other homosexuals. The vast majority of homosexuals have heterosexual parents.

Thank you Amago/Loonwatch for exposing yet another ignorant, hate filled bigot who obviously has nothing in common with Jesus.

I wonder if this guy is part of the “pokemon is evil crowd” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5J_fCmsyk_4 it wouldnt be surprising though it is funny to imagine jigglypuff as a name for a messenger of the devil.lol

    WOW..

These people are reminded almost every hour about the autrocity of the European Jews a generation ago. It is inshrined deeply in the western discourse, and seered into the minds of every westerner of the horrors of what the European Jews and those who were against the Nazi regime went through.

Yet, they advocate the horror of Jews for someone else, in the same way the Nazi regime did to thier victims. Just as the Nazi evils would not have come to fruition if the propagandists didnt use religious rhetoric and jusitifcation to promote thier hate, so we are seeing it again…blatant in this case…but subtile in politicans, media, and punditry.

So, we are seeing again, hate and bigotry put in a religious context, and people ‘ameening’ it, and defending it.

    The nightmare begins again.

North Carolina Pastor’s Followers Defend His Anti-Gay Sermon After Video Goes Viral

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/05/23/north-carolina-pastor-anti-gay-sermon-defended_n_1539395.html

Parishioners at North Carolina’s Providence Road Baptist Church have come to the defense of Pastor Charles L. Worley, days after video footage of him delivering a viciously homophobic sermon went viral in the blogosphere.

“So he had every right to say what he said about putting them in a pen and feeding them,” Providence Road Baptist Church member Geneva Sims tells NBC news affiliate WCNC. “The Bible says they are worthy of death. He only preaches the word…God made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.”

Adds member Stacey Pritchard: “Sometimes you’ve got to be scared straight. He is trying to save those people from going to hell.”

In the video, reportedly filmed on May 13, Worley calls for gays and lesbians to be put in an electrified pen and left to ultimately die off. “Build a great, big, large fence — 150 or 100 mile long — put all the lesbians in there,” Worley suggests. “Do the same thing for the queers and the homosexuals and have that fence electrified so they can’t get out…and you know what, in a few years, they’ll die out…do you know why? They can’t reproduce!”

He also condemned President Obama’s endorsement of same-sex marriage, proclaiming, “I’m not going to vote for a baby killer and a homosexual lover!”

Yesterday, Good as You blogger Jeremy Hooper unearthed additional audio of Worley, apparently recorded in 1978, in which the pastor declares, “Forty years ago [LGBT people] would’ve hung, bless God, from a white oak tree!”

HuffPost Gay Voices reader Kaeylyn Hunt notes that several groups will be protesting the Providence Road Baptist Church on Sunday, May 27 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. “Regardless if you are gay or straight, Christian or not… this rhetoric is dangerous and harmful,” planned demonstrators, who note that the rally will be peaceful, write on Facebook.

    This in AMERICA !!!

The guy’s probably a closet homosexual himself, and is projecting his own insecurities and fears onto other people. He must be a very, very, sad man.

“Homosexuals are often persecuted in muslim majority countries are they not? ”
Besides the point. The point of the post is say how Christian homophobia is not used to discredit Christianity in the same way that Muslim homophobia is used to discredit Islam in the eyes of most Westerners. If the homophobe in question was a Muslim, it would be seen as Exhibit A on why Islam is evil, but since he is a Christian he is considered unrepresentative of Christianity.

“Either way they are all examples of how religion can poison.”
It is funny how atheist humanists use religious symbolism like “poison” to describe religion, as if it were a spiritual corruption corrupting the minds of humans, who would be innocent without religion. Secular humanism is simply a religion for atheists.

If religion is poison, where did the poison come from? The Devil?

This man is absolutely nuts. I’m sure this fool doesn’t have a good opinion of Muslims, blacks or Jews either. And if this man was Muslim, then this would be front page news on Jihadwatch.

  • Steve

“but if the same crime was committed by a non-muslim, his religion is never mentioned and he is simply insane”

Depends if his religion informed the murder.

Homosexuals are often persecuted in muslim majority countries are they not? There is a difference between homophobic nutters like this guy ranting in the US and his islamic counterpart ranting in a place where they kill homosexuals. Either way they are all examples of how religion can poison.

  • Pamela

the biggest yellers are in the closet big time trying to hide thier gay nature how many boyfriends he has been with?

  • TheBig-T

    @ Steve
They’re saying that if the pastor mentioned in this article was a Muslim calling for gays to be electrocuted, would the media react the same way? would his religion be called into question or will people dismiss him as some loony acting on his own.
Loonwatch is pointing out the Hypocrisy of media presentation of Muslims in America and around the world.
For example: when a crazy man kill his family who happens to be a Muslim, somehow all 1.5 billion muslims must share the blame and its because of Islam he did what he did and not psychological issues.
but if the same crime was committed by a non-muslim, his religion is never mentioned and he is simply insane

  • MC

And the Islamophobes show their hypocrisy again.

  • Casey

Steve> Given the man’s form regarding his attitude to Gay people, I’m sure he’d have Islamophobic tendencies…

  • Steve

Struggling to spot the “islamophobia” in this one

  • mindy1

WTF is WRONG wiht him??? He is advocating for the genocide of a group of people, is he CRAZY?!
