More delightful news from Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller‘s favorite right-wing Belgian fanatics, Vlaams Belang. Recently they were protesting a ‘school barbecue’ because some students brought halal meat. According to deputy head Jacques Gits they scaled the school walls and “intimidated the children and pushed pork sausages down their throats”.

The Belgian press has reported that three Vlaams Belang politicians staged a protest at a school in Schoten, where many of the students are Muslims, because it had organised a barbecue that included halal meat.

The protestors climbed over the wall into the school grounds and, according to deputy head Jacques Gits, “intimidated the children and pushed pork sausages down their throats”. One of the students, who were aged between 12 and 14, added: “They said that halal meat is not real food and that our stomachs needed filling.”

Vlaams Belang claim that they were responding to objections by parents to the “halal barbecue”, although the school itself says that the only complaint it received was one anonymous phone call. School head Ilse De Bast explained: “This week was about other cultures and their customs. Every child was free to bring food from home for their classmates to taste. There was halal meat, but also other food.”

In reply to criticisms, VB leader Filip Dewinter said that the protest “was meant to be funny”. He added: “It would be better if schools stopped exposing children to such multicultural activities.”

It appears that the story was broken by the Anti-Fascist Front who also provide a summary of press coverage.

That is a complete lie. Islamophobes like Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller have in the past opposed Muslims who have done nothing wrong except be of a different faith. Any Muslim can be the target of their hate campaign regardless of what they’ve done. In addition, these two have supported the EDL who are violently anti-Muslim and whose members have been caught viciously assaulting Muslims and setting fire to a mosque in the UK. To see the hatred against Muslims that these loons inspire in their followers just have a look at the comments posted on their websites. People there regularly call for the nuking of Muslim cities, the deportation of all Muslims and some have even called for putting Muslims in concentration camps. These comments are approved by them and sometimes echoed by other paid writers at their sites. Here they are approving of ethnic cleansing:

What values inherent in the words of the book that defines this religion are you talking about? I have read both the Quran and the Bible and other books of religion they all have many ideas in common (apart from Dianetes of cource )

Perhaps you didnt read the article. Perhaps you missed the part of the article where ADULTS climed a wall, came into a schoolyard to imtimidate children, and force them to eat something thier parents wouldn’t allow them to eat.

So…exactly what part of the article is fair to the children? What child in the school yard was exibiting ‘fascist agresson’, or ‘Muslim agression’?

I am failing to see your point, unless you are saying that because YOU (personally) belive Muslims are at fault for what happens to them, thier children should be intimidated, threatened, and assaulted.

I am well aware of European prejudice – the classic us and them attitude – which has caused so much grief over history and continues very much in the fabric of the culture today.

And these strong-arm tactics do seem abusive and likely illegal.

But only if you treat/expose the dhimmi prejudice inherent in the muslim religion, can I see you as being fair and respect your word. Because otherwise you kind of fall into the us and them mindset. Not redeeming the best, the truths from all sides. And I am left wondering what prejudices you or your readers may hold.

I would have loved to see them try to “push pork down (my) throat”-whether it happened to the kids or not, I’m not sure..regardless, they would have been pounded into submission if they tried this on me or my kid.

These people are disgusting. Not only it is sickening that they committed such a hate crime, but they could have also killed the children by shoving food (especially pork sausages, which tend to be slippery) down their throats. They could have choked to death. But I guess that would have been “funny” to these Nazis too….

Unknown strange men trespass upon school grounds and threaten children and teachers. I am not a violent person but if it had been my daughter at that school there would have been trouble and I am not a muslim .
