I like the Young Turks and for the most part agree with what Cenk is saying. But I have to disagree with his argument against guns here. I think the presence of responsible and armed gun owners here could have helped. Granted if visibility was truly poor as they said, than drawing a gun inside the theatre would probably not have been prudent. But let’s keep in mind that it was armed police who apprehended the suspect in the end. I just think it’s strange to blame an inanimate object (a gun) for the actions of people. Adding some sort of a psych eval to the process of purchasing firearms might not be a bad idea though. The perp sounds like a delusional schizophrenic and his description in court sounds like they gave him some haldol to calm him down.

I’m really glad that more and more people in both parties are coming out and denouncing this witch hunt for what it is. Too many good Americans who happen to be Muslims have been demonized for their faith. I think its a sign that we’re slowly winning.
