Small Turnout for Pro Deutschland’s anti-Islamisation Protest

Posted on 20 August 2012 by Emperor

Another pathetic and failed fascist protest from a Robert Spencer allied fascist group:

Small turnout for Pro Deutschland’s anti-Islamisation protest

Members of a small far-right group have displayed caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad during demonstrations outside mosques in Berlin, but officials say their protests have gone peacefully.

Saturday’s demonstrations by the Pro Deutschland group – held under the slogan “Islam does not belong in Germany – stop Islamization” – followed a failed attempt by three mosques to get display of the caricatures prohibited. A court ruled they were protected by laws allowing artistic free expression.

Police said a group of up to 70 supporters of Pro Deutschland took part, while a few hundred counterdemonstrators protested against them. There was a heavy police presence.

    A couple of news tips for Loonwatch’s editorial team. You may also wish to cross-publish one of these articles (especially the piece by Dr Goodwin), at your discretion:

    — Dr Matthew Goodwin’s detailed article highlighting the fact that much more needs to be done to monitor & counteract Far-Right violence: http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/matthew-goodwin/far-right-violence-more-needs-to-be-done_b_1811529.html

    (As I’ve mentioned previously on Loonwatch, Dr Goodwin, one of Britain’s most respected academic experts on the domestic & international Far-Right, very effectively challenged EDL leader Stephen Yaxley-Lennon/Tommy Robinson during a live BBC debate in April. During that debate, Yaxley-Lennon also quoted defamatory material from a Hitler-supporting neo-Nazi website in an attempt to discredit Dr Goodwin, and later on the same day the EDL leadership promoted that neo-Nazi website via their official Twitter account in a further attempt to publicly discredit Dr Goodwin).

    — Launch of the Extremis Project, set up to monitor Far-Right terrorism and extremism: http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2012/08/20/extremis-project-set-up-monitor-terror-right-wing-launched_n_1811822.html. (This is a relatively short article; Dr Goodwin’s more detailed article above also mentions the Extremis Project).

    I see windsofchange (any relation to shekyermami’s windsofjihad?) is still trolling here. He didn’t even care to click the link provided in the article above, as Chameleon noted.

    So I’m sure you’ll find an excuse for these stances, maybe you’ll even find a PC way to justify them. Is neo-Fascism the new democracy with you anti-Muslims?:

    Who are the Bürgerbewegung? Well these are just some of the policies they advocate:
    - Organizations of islam critics as well as of people who left islam shall be funded by the state and have an adaquate say in the media.

    And,

    - Islamic head cloths are to be banned in kindergardens, schools, campusses, workplaces, public buildings and events.

    And,

    - Quran-schools are to be forbidden.

    @windsofchange

    If Islam has no place in Germany, the suggestion is that Muslims have no place in Germany. A desire to expel or ethnically cleanse an entire population is not mere opposition.

    The Forced Emigration of German Jews
    The first major step leading to the “Final Solution” was the attempt on the part of the Nazi regime to force Jews to emigrate out of Germany. Hitler’s motivation seems to have been two-fold: to ensure the racial purity of Germany and to create lebensraum, “living space,” for German nationals of “Aryan” blood. His obsession with the former is reflected in the Nuremburg Laws of 1935. Throughout the 1930′s Nazi domestic policy was aimed at stripping Jews of any citizenship rights, economic and political rights. The first step toward a “Final Solution of the Jewish Problem” was the complete dehumanization of the Jew….
    http://frank.mtsu.edu/~baustin/emigrate.html

    We all know how that ended.

    @Ilisha

    So because they oppose Islam they are fascists? Wow you are truly sounding like a loon yourself.

    Fascism is a form of dictatorial autocracy, nothing in this article suggests that these people support that form of governance. Just because you don’t agree with them does not make them fascists.

  • Ilisha

    @windsofchange

    fascist: a person who believes in or sympathizes with fascism.

    Saturday’s demonstrations by the Pro Deutschland group – held under the slogan “Islam does not belong in Germany….”

    How is this NOT extreme German nationalism? What if the same people were outside a synagogue protesting under the slogan, “Judaism does not belong in Germany”? Not only would that echo a dark period in history, it would also be perfectly reasonable to define such behavior as “fascist.”

  • windsofchange

    @Garibaldi

    This is the definition of Facism: a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition

    Now just where in their protest did they advocate for such governance?

    It is good to know what a term means before you label someone with it.

  • http://www.loonwatch.com Garibaldi

    @Windsofchange asks,

    @ Garibaldi,

    What makes them thugs?

    The fact that they are a group of fascists who want to impose their fascist vision on Germany under the cloak of “Human Rights,” a real feat of dissembling if I ever saw one.

  • http://www.loonwatch.com Garibaldi

    Steve writes,

    Or muslims protesting against people holding some legal images.

    The group in the article are clearly misguided but trying to prevent people showing legal images is also very misguided and rather plays straight into their hands.

    There is nothing wrong with counter protests against those holding legal images, especially when it’s against fascists.

    @Zakariya ali sher
    wow where to start.. I guess I will start with your hypocritical paranoia.

    You wrote ” Just because they didn’t break any laws (THIS time, at least) does not make them any less thugs. Remember that these same people are the ones who protest against the very existence of Islam, and of immigration from “Muslim countries” in general. They hate us not because of our religion, but because we exist, because we are “brown,” and because its politically acceptable to discriminate against Muslims, Arabs and others in this environment, just as it was politically acceptable to discriminate against Jews a mere half a century ago”

    So according to you just because they legally protest something with which they disagree they are THUGS. I guess it matters not that they are exercising their freedom of expression under German law. Yet you choose to point out the freedoms allowed under German law by saying this:

    ” Nothing in German law says you can’t eat a döner kebab, wear a salwar kameez, pray at a mosque, name your kids Fatima and Husayn, observe prayers on Friday instead of Sunday or listen to Arabesk music. Germany, like the US, is a free, secular country, and citizens are allowed the freedoms that entails.

    I agree with that statement but apparently you don’t. It seems to me that you only like the freedoms that benefit muslims and are opposed to those that oppose islam. Well too bad for you and your ilk. Freedom is a two way street. If they don’t like they can always leave.

    You also said “Nobody is imposing their religion on anybody else, most certainly not the tiny Muslim minority. What people like you tend to view as ‘imposing their culture’ is enjoying culture

    Well what about the Salafist organisation Millatu Ibrahim, which had been calling on Muslims to fight against Germany’s “constitutional order”.

    So I guess you were wrong about that too. Are you too obtuse to understand that people don’t want others trying to fight their constitutional order? Yes there is freedom of religion, as there should be, but that does not give anybody the right, especially a mere 4% of the population to try change the political order through non democratic methods. People have no problem with individuals praticing their religion it is when it becomes politicized that these conflicts occur and now islam is in that phase.

    Do some research about these movements in Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Do a search about muslims in gronland Norway and see what is occurring there maybe it will enlighten you as to why there is so much push back against islam.

    As far as family law goes in the US, yes often the mother is favored, that is absent credible evidence that she is unfit to care for her children. Sharia as you stated is preferential to the father regardless of how well he cares for his children so yes it is more biased than western family law.

    As far as the ‘Döner murders’ goes, it is regrettable that people use such voilence on others but was it done in the name of reigion? No it was a product of hate sadly.

  • Chameleon

    @windsofchange says “Please explain to me how this attempt at establishing shari’a is both just and benign?”

    So one racist goofball expresses a wish for Islamic laws in his country, and this is supposed to represent a serious attempt to “establish sharia”. What does this remotely have to do with Islam or Muslims in general? When you can actually make a serious argument regarding the threat of sharia law, we would be happy to do the honors of destroying your argument. Until then, please don’t waste our time here.

    @windsofchange also said, “Had you read my post carefully you would have seen that I asked why such behavior was not denounce here at loonwatch.”

    You actually asked why Garibaldi did not do so, and you addressed him as “you” in asking why he (i.e., not Loonwatch) did not denounce this action, thereby logically inferring (not necessarily implying, which I concede) a demand for him to denounce it. However, if you meant to imply “Loonwatch” and not Garibaldi, now you are even more ignorant than I first assumed. Unjust violence, terrorism, and just about anything remotely like it is denounced all over Loonwatch, and that includes every instance of such violence by so called “Muslims” on non-Muslims. Please read this site more and then try to defend your claim by bringing up even one article where such violence was discussed but NOT denounced or condemned in some way. Admittedly, I am sending you on a wild goose chase, but hopefully you will learn something in the process of trying to prove me wrong.

    @Proverb says, “Be warned, all that many here understand is calling anyone who is disgusted with Islam and its tenents an “Islamophobe”. Islamophobia is like Naziphobia to me.”

    No, when you make unsubstantiated claims that foment fear, suspicion, doubt or terror against Islam or Muslims, that is Islamophobia. All that I understand and care about, as do most others here, are the facts and logic of your arguments. If you refuse to make or defend an argument, or are simply unable to, and just drop claims against Islam and Muslims like a mindless zombie, then you are, by definition, admitting yourself to be an Islamophobe and will be called out as such.

    @Steve says, “Inciting hate is not acceptable. Protesting outside a place of worship is acceptable.”

    I agree, but this was not your claim that I demanded you to defend. You are just trying to squirm into a straw man argument. You also claimed by logical implication that it was morally acceptable and compatible with democratic values to incite suppression of peaceful worship via protest. Now quit squirming like I predicted you would and defend your claim.

    Either Geller is being dishonest (imagine that) or she’s clueless:

    http://jezebel.com/364296/meet-bikini-blogger-pamela-geller-she-is-like-ann-coulter-meets-the-real-housewives-she-is-amazing

    “I’m not a feminist, I’m an anti-feminist,” she tells Right Wing News.”That whole movement…is rooted in Marxist-Leninist propaganda.” Today’s post is basically about how Barack Obama is the tool of Colombian paramilitary drug cartels, Hugo Chavez and Al Qaeda. (Wait, actually, every post is about that.) But her big claim to internet fame came when she posted a video blog entry while wearing a bikini back in the summer of ’06. See, she was in Israel, and she felt it was important to illustrate the fact that although the scrappy little underfunded self-defense outfit of Israel was in the throes of a bloody war with a colossalsuperhumanenemy no mortal thought they could ever beat, she wasn’t yet being forced to don a burka. “They haven’t declared Sharia law yet!” she says.

    At least Pamela Geller, as far as I know, unlike Spencer, never refers to herself as a “renowned scholar” of anything.
