Tariq Ramadan’s visit to Canada is part of Muslim Brotherhood plot to destroy West, says Tarek Fatah

Posted on 31 August 2012 by Emperor

Tarek Fatah’s record of appeasing anti-Muslim charlatans and fear-mongers is well known, as is his furthering of Islamophobic causes.

Recently he jumped on the bandwagon of promoting the myths about “Muslim Brotherhood” infiltration and plots to “destroy the West,” echoing the rhetoric of bigots such as Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller (via. Islamophobia-Watch).

Tariq Ramadan’s visit to Canada is part of Muslim Brotherhood plot to destroy West, says Tarek Fatah

Tariq Ramadan will be speaking at the Proud Muslims Convention in Edmonton this weekend.

Tarek Fatah – whose own organisation, the so-called Muslim Canadian Congress, backed the hysterical “Ground Zero mosque” protests and calls for a ban on the veil – accuses Professor Ramadan of “using our Labour Day weekend to propagate the Muslim Brotherhood credo of ‘destroying the West from within’.”

    Yes i agree that we should be against them because they are just wrong
    but I just get frustrated because they are the ones used to characterize all others who criticize them and they play right into their hands

    @Saladin

    Yes, and of course I’m completely against anyone actually harming them–or threatening, menacing, or harassing them. I’m against it because I’m always against such behavior, which is just wrong, but also because it plays into their hands, as you suggested.

    When Irshad was talking in the video I saw recently of her accepting the award from Fatah, they showed some people, who appeared to be Muslims (and I wouldn’t put it past them to stage it, though sadly, I can certainly believe it was real too), counter demonstrating. They were very loud and rowdy, and of course, they were caught on camera, a few masked in wrapped scarves, and most of them shouting.

    Why do they have to do this? If they had simply protested her appearance peacefully, or better yet, used the question and answer session to challenge her with tough questions, I think that would be better.

    I did see, in another video, a polite Iraqi man wait his turn and challenge Noni Darwish with his questions and statements, and it made her look pretty bad. She couldn’t justify her position, and he was being very sincere with her, not even raising his voice. It was an awesome thing to see.

    In any case, I do think some of them make a big production of threats against them, real or manufactured, and it’s part of their gimmick.

    @Ilisha

    Totally agree but the problem is there is always some nutcase Muslims who actually will threaten them , or try to harm them,like vandalizing etc…,and that legitimizes what they claim that they are the victim and they will then use that to make “any Muslim who isn’t also a fawning lapdog.” look like an extremist trying to harm them, like the case where Tarek Fatah was claiming that the Second Global Conference on World’s Religions has adopted a resolution call for the death of any Muslims criticizing Sharia like himself(again #9 playing the victim)

    while the Second Global Conference on World’s Religions
    resolution actually said
    “Resolved that the religions of the world should come together to formulate a Universal Declaration of Human Rights by the World’s Religions, which would embody their vision of human flourishing, and which would supplement the UN Declaration.”

    @Saladin

    I agree, those two should be added, and your additions made me think of another:

    “You might be a faux “progressive Muslim” if…”
    (9) You like to play the victim–a noble but embattled reformer facing down mean, scary extremists–where “extremist” is defined as “any Muslim who isn’t also a fawning lapdog.”

    Thanks for the links Illisha! DrM totally destroyed Tarek Fatah. Tarek F might not have criticized Islam directly but the fact that he has always criticized Muslims, never saying anything positive about them and also in cohoots with anti-Muslims/neocons says a lot about him. He’s a Pakistani nobody famous for criticizing fellow Muslims. Same with Irshad “reform Islam” Manji!
