Recently, we’ve had trollish commenters pop up on our site defending the invasion and decimation of Iraq by the USA. It seems that the whitewashing of the war and historical amnesia has already settled in.

Loonwatcher Solid Snake made an excellent point about the way in which we make Muslim victims of America’s wars and aggression essentially “invisible.” Here is a recent two part series from AlJazeera’s Faultline documentary series that puts the focus back on the nation we invaded ten years ago, their reaction to our presence, what they believe they have benefited and lost, and the prospects for the future.

You’re Welcome. I’m sorry I didn’t reply earlier, but there was a power outage last night, and slammed my computer off as I was trying to right a reply. Even when the power came back on, I didn’t know if it was safe yet.

I just finished watching the second video. The worst part of this, is that I have a feeling this is not worst of this. I have feeling there was even more that they didn’t show us.

First video had nothing to do with the Iraq war. Instead it was talking about Syria and Virus that hit Yosemite. Are you sure that’s the right video? I’m watching the second one now, so far it appears to be the right one.

@ Xithurel A little extreme but yet I can’t help but agree with everything you just said.

Maybe you guys have already seen it but one Dr. Dahlia Wasfi did an excellent speech on the carnage and bloodshed being perputrated by the US government during the Iraq war and other places in the Middle East, the only ones benefitting aside from those in the government being the oil companies such as Exon Mobil, Haliburton, etc.

Here’s a link to such a speech in question, even though it was done years before the war came to an end, it is still very much true and informative even today:

The only comfort the Iraqi people will ever get is the knowledge that the soldiers that took part in this genocide will suffer the same fates with their own children and grandchildren. Uranium poisoning works both ways; it is in the troops blood. They will pass it down to their kids and it will be their grandkids that will show the most signs. So while hateful Americans think this is something that will never touch them – it’s already in their blood. The Bush administration ensured that. That’s the only solace that can be given. They are also more oil rich than certain other countries so their country will literally burst into progression. Yhey will have the best schools and universities like they had not so far from modern history. While the troops that did this are already on the streets – living the same life they mocked Iraqis for living. Iraqis are dealing with this now but when America begins to deal with uranium in their own population on the same scale; chances are it’ll be an Iraqi that will be the leading mind in that field.
