Norway: Roses, Not Protest

Posted on 12 October 2012 by Ilisha

Roses in Norway

A positive, creative response to the “Innocence of Muslims” film controversy. (H/T: Syed, who asks: “Now I wonder why this isn’t featured on the frontpage of some magazine?”)

Volunteers of the organisation Stand4Hussain handed out flowers to the people in Oslo, with cards attached to them containing an introduction to the holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). This was in response to the sacrilegious film Innocence of Muslims, that caused outrage all across the Muslim world. www.stand4hussain.org

Should we be linking to hate sites ?
Global infidel certainly qualifies in my book . What a nasty peace of work . Hate hate hate . No evidence of why she hates Islam and loves Eric Bell ? Not sure which is the more obvious sign of nuttyness probably liking Eric Bell.
I dont expect everyone to like every religion but there is a difference to activly hating a religion and encouraging everyone else to hate it as oppopsed to just not believing in that faith.
What a sad life to live defining yourself by hate. Poor poor woman
Lets not fall into the trap of hating folks , its lonely and self distructive .

@Ahmed, thanks for the link. Shows how she has come to these conclusions. A hater and a liar.

@bonnie loranger ” I read the Koran and the Hadith and there is a lot of verses that call for the killing of infidels and incredible violence”.

I believe you have not read the Hadith/Quran but rather been misled by Islamophobic sites taking verses out of context to support their agenda.

Looks like you facts are not truths by any stretch of the imagination. Are you gonna tell the truth and say that the Old Testament has “”incredible violence” ?

  • Rizwan

Jesus always preached love and peace.

Luke 19:27 But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them–bring them here and kill them in front of me.

Luke 14:26 If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters–yes, even his own life–he cannot be my disciple.

“By now, we should have a generic cut and paste answer. *sigh*”

I agree. You shouldn’t have to give a new response to an old claim.

I didn’t see your reply until I posted mine…must have been typing at the same time. By now, we should have a generic cut and paste answer. *sigh*

“I read the Koran and the Hadith and there is a lot of verses that call for the killing of infidels and incredible violence.”

You read “the Hadith”? That’s quite impressive, since there are literally thousands. Which collection did you finish last?

Also, please specify the chapter and verse in the Qur’an that you think calls for unprovoked aggression. Before you try, please read a few replies to other self-proclaimed “experts” who’ve made similar claims in the past:

The idea that the Quran tells Muslims to kill infidels, and that Muslims are lying about what their religion teaches, has been refuted ad nauseum here:

This is a very good gesture but what about the violent verses in the Koran and the shay morality pf Muhammad. I read the Koran and the Hadith and there is a lot of verses that call for the killing of infidels and incredible violence.
What about all these violence coming from Islam? You cannot deny that. And do not tell me that other religions have committed violence and that their sacred books also contain violent verses. I the old testament yes and nothing in the new testament. Jesus always preached love and peace. Jesus was not a warrior but Mohammed was.
The message you are sending is a false message, granted done in a nice way but still a deceiving message. I would have preferred you to say the truth about the prophet and tell people that you only go by the peaceful verses of the Koran and that you reject the violent ones that are created so much turmoil in the world.’When are you going to recognize that Islam deeds to be amended? When will you stop lying to the infidels. Only the truth sets you free.

    Stand4Hussein? Is this a Shi’a group? (Didn’t think there were many Shi’as in Norway…)

  • Ahmad

Peaceful demonstrations and kind gestures are never “news worthy” for media outlets.

Hence, I cannot watch the news. Too much violence, suffering and hate. It really makes me feel bad.

    @Ilisha

Unfortunately I think I can tell Syed why most News papers haven’t treated this story as front page news. Even without the Islamophobia industry, violent protests are simply much more interesting to most people than genuine attempts to reach out to people who don’t understand you or your faith. I have a feeling the violent protests get more coverage at least in part because the people who run the news networks and the newspapers think that it will get them more viewers or more readers.

The RED petals & ze GREEN leaves > colors of the dreaded Izlam. Red is blood, green is poison & don’t get me started on ze scimitar thorns.

Also took place in my city, Perth, Australia. It was a sort of response to the crazy Sydney riots.

    http://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/a/-/breaking/14937656/muslims-show-gentler-face-of-protest/

The past few sermons at the local mosque have been encouraging the Muslim community to use this^ approach to oppose negative words about the Prophet.

Worthy of any frontpage, indeed, and the frontpage of Loonwatch is a great place to start!

  • Sam Seed

That’s so sweet. I can imagine our prophet smiling at this noble gesture. The media is not going to bat an eyelid because it is not controversial. That is Muhammad, a messenger who brought to the ignorant much needed peace. May peace be upon you our dear prophet.
