Man Walks Into Mosque And Threatens to Kill Everyone Inside

Possible hate crime alert: Thankfully no one was killed or hurt. (h/t: AliyaPlatif)

Concern Over Threat at Fremont Mosque

They were wrapped up in peaceful prayer when the man walked into the mosque and claimed he had a gun. The imam leading the prayer at the Ibrahim Khalilullah Islamic Center in Fremont told police that the Caucasian man, believed to be in his 30s, shouted that he was going to kill the four people inside.

It happened just before 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Islamic Center on the 43,000 block of Osgood Road, just a couple blocks away from the Fremont Fry’s location. When the imam approached the man, he reportedly drove away in a gray, 90s model Camry.

Mosque leaders are working closely with Fremont police and say they’ve already handed over footage from some of the seven surveillance cameras inside the building, which is located in the very back of an industrial area.  The motive is still unclear, although many mosque board members told NBC Bay Area they did not believe it was a botched robbery attempt. Still, Mohammed Zarabi, IKIC Board President, was reluctant to draw any connection between the threat and his religion.

Obviously, the dud was a punk….whether he had a gun or not….but even moreso if he did have one and ran away when the imam approached him.

The current debacle in Mali is directly the result of the collapse of Libya. If the US hadn’t gotten involved, its debatable whether it would have even happened. Had the status quo held, the same people causing problems in Mali right now would have been stuck in Libya.

  • Zakariya Ali Sher

Well, he’d be called a ‘terrorist’ instead of a ‘gunman.’ They’d give his name, ethnicity and religion. In fact, the adjective ‘Muslim’ would always be attached as a qualifier. After all, number talks about ‘white killers,’ or ‘Christian killers,’ even when the suspect clearly is one.

We’d get a narrative about the ‘roots of Islamic terror.’ They’d ask whether we really are safer. His friends and family members would be treated as exotic foreigners, not people who happen to have unfortunate connections to mad man. In fact, they’d even be painted as potential accomplices.

Pamella Geller, Fox News and the like would talk about it for WEEKS. It would overshadow other school shootings and the like because, as we all know, Muslim shooters are inherently scarier.

Yer so-called “rebels” are massacring people.

And the West does NOT need to involve itself in Syria or any other part of the Middle East!

Shame on you for even saying something like that!

And Israel does not prefer Assad. I’ve heard it from many Israelis that they’d love nothing more than for the MB to take power in Syria.

  • Reynardine

The only person who has brought it up so far in this thread is you. We were talking about gun violence.

  • Christian-Friend

    (curse my English…)
This is for Loonwatch in general:
What I noticed in these forums, whether you are an Islamophobe or not, is comparing the other side as Nazi sympathizers, something I find childish. Please stop, that’s what I’m asking

Also, Qutb is a jerk, and I bet many sane Muslims are with me on that.

  • Chameleon_X

“It’s simple: Guns don’t kill people, people kill people.”

Oh, yes, that scrawny Adam Lanza could have used his deadly Kung Fu to kill so many people. Sounds logical to me.

And since we don’t have to worry about any cause and effect relationship between more guns and more violence, when do you suggest we should allow the distribution of shoulder-fired nuclear missiles to the general public? I heard that they can be particularly effective for home defense.

  • Razainc_aka_BigBoss

Don’t forget all the dhimmi’s who already made a pact with their future Muslim overlords

  • Razainc_aka_BigBoss

Think you’re the last one I just found out now how do you think I feel

  • Just_Stopping_By

“Yes, arent the Mayans also part of the Judeo-Islamic Caliphate axis of eveeel?” Yes, but the secret was out months ago: http://www.loonwatch.com/2012/05/stop-the-judeo-mestizo-islamization-of-north-america/. Plus, if you say “Mayan” backwards, it sounds like highly accented Arabic for the word “Yes” that starts your sentence that I quoted.

  • Solid Snake

I didnt know that. Thanks for the info and the link.

Yes, arent the Mayans also part of the Judeo-Islamic Caliphate axis of eveeel?

  • Just_Stopping_By

Actually, there is a civil war in Mali and one group has, in the words of a UN official, “imposed an extremist version of Sharia.” http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-19905905.

The problem, as I see it, is that Fasdunkle is right in asking “What has syria got to do with the USA” but then uses the same tactic to move the discussion to Mali. The Muslim world is big enough that if you look around, you are pretty much bound to find cases of Muslims behaving “well” and cases of them behaving “poorly.” Neither justifies the actions of the person that this article is about and just serves to shift the focus of the conversation.

As for the 21st of December, I believe you were notified about that date by the Mayans, yes?

  • Solid Snake

But no really, what do you mean by Sharia being imposed?

  • Solid Snake

Imposing Sharia??? So soon? I didn’t get the memo dammit! Why am I always the last one to be notified. I thought the date was for the 21st of Decemeber.

  • Fasdunkle

What has syria got to to do with the USA? It’s a proxy war between iran and the gulf states – whatever happens there will be bad for the Syrian people. Libya is a complete mess now and it has spread to places such as northern Mali where the people are being brutalised as sharia is imposed by people with Libyan weapons

while our hearts are broken for the victims/families in conn we also mourn the 3000 children killed in syria….most could have been prevented had obama enforced a no fly zone over syria like he did in libya….unfortunately syria like egypt border israel…which pleaded with mubarak to not step down….in regards to israel israel prefers assad to a democratically elected muslim govt…one would think post-election in the u.s. obama would feel secure enuff to increase aid or enforce a no fly zone….but aals he went to mynamar and thailand as the children suffered…it would be like a police officer outside sand hooks elem watching adam lanza enter the school and he does nothing…the 20 kids in conn have our prayers but the 3000 muslim syrian kids who have died also have our thoughts and prayers they are not inferior to any other race..religion or ethnic group..keep them in your prayers as welll

If there was a comparison to Hitler, I missed it.

  • eslaporte

Ann Coulter wants to arm kindergartners?! Insane! When you see the picture on the site of the three little girls holding guns – the one on the far right is holding the gun used in the school shooting…SICKOS! http://www.politicususa.com/ann-coulter-suggests-school-shooting-prevented-kindergarteners-guns.html This isn’t freedom – it’s madness!

  • Reynardine

Over at Politicususa, someone already said it. The forum was foreseeably not very friendly to him. You can imagine the noise they’re making in more receptive ones.

  • eslaporte

I’m waiting for the conspiracy theory that Obama, the Kenyan Muslim communist, actually planned this school shooting just to cause outrage to take away your guns and have UN troops take you away to camps in national forests…that have been planned for years to put America under UN rule…yep…I know it’s coming!

  • eslaporte

I’m actually not for totally banning guns…nope…the local culture here is for hunting and hunters. We have gun owners in my family (hunters) and we have owned guns in the past, and nobody ever though about shooting up anything. One could hunt with an AR15 – it takes the .223 round. It’s true that crazy people MUST be kept away from guns and perhaps we need to work toward legislation that requires that guns be locked up in homes, especially where there are kids live.

  • Reynardine

And here I thought this was the usual cretin who couldn’t spell.
