Kevin Carroll backs leader of violent racist campaign against Rohingya Muslims

Hasan-Lennon-Nawaz-and-Carroll

Bob Pitt of IslamophobiaWatch has flagged a supportive tweet by Kevin Carroll for the violent and racist Burmese Buddhist monk, Ashin Warathu who is wreaking havoc through his 969 movement in Myanmar.

Carroll, along with Tommy Robinson are the same men that Maajid Nawaz and Quilliam Foundation told us have been rehabilitated and are no longer “Islamophobes.”

Kevin Carroll backs leader of violent racist campaign against Rohingya Muslims

Since Stephen Lennon (“Tommy Robinson”) and his cousin Kevin Carroll appeared at a Quilliam press conference last year to announce their resignation from the leadership of the English Defence League, opponents of racism and fascism have concentrated on exposing the fraudulent character of Lennon’s supposed break with extremism.

With “Tommy” now safely locked up, beginning an 18-month prison sentence for his part in a £162,000 mortgage fraud, it is perhaps time to turn our attention to Carroll – who, just like Lennon, was presented by Quilliam as a man that had renounced his far-right, anti-Muslim past.

For anyone who is still stupid or blinkered enough to buy Quilliam’s lies, here from earlier today is Carroll tweeting his support for Ashin Wirathu, the Buddhist monk who has inspired the ongoing genocidal campaign against the Rohingya Muslim community in Myanmar. (The admiration is mutual – last year Wirathu told the Times that his anti-Muslim movement “would like to be like the EDL”.)

Kevin Carroll on Rohingya Muslims

Postscript:  It’s worth noting that Carroll’s backing for the anti-Rohingya campaign is nothing new. Here he is in November, retweeting inflammatory propaganda from an anti-Muslim racist posting as “Myanmar Buddhist”:

  • Friend of Bosnia

    Thanks for your solidarity.

Well, there is nothing I can do. On this Earth evil outweighs good. I can only thank the All-Merciful that so far I haven’t been touched too much by it…

  • Mehdi

Not much i can add there…

  • Friend of Bosnia

I cant respond to the twerps any longer as Balkaninsight has banned me from commenting. But they still provide a platform for anti-Bosnia and anti-Albanian hate speech, Muslim-bashing, Bosniak/Albanian-baiting and war propaganda. They let the backers of Greater Serbia say things that it is forbidden to say about the Jews. And now I can’t even object to it. All that after being on it for almost 20 years now.

  • Seeker

Yes, it does indeed. But fortunately there are still enough people with sense to look beyond man-made barriers and stand up for a fellow human. Inspite of being ‘programmed’ by the powers that be otherwise. And that is very reassuring.

  • Friend of Bosnia

And not only of Israel. It’ s incredible what such twerps say to glorify the “Putinization” of Bosnia-Herzegovina, the anti-Rohingya pogroms, anti-Muslim pogroms in India, Sri Lanka and Thailand, the oppression of the Uyghurs, Assad’s genocide against the Syrian people, etc., etc., etc. Their callous inhumanity boggles the mind.

  • Mehdi

You already do a lot at your level, none of us can solve all of this, and when it comes to those islamophobes, remember that none of them is open to any debate, they just want to mess up your mind, and this is not a pleasure you’re going to give them 🙂

  • Friend of Bosnia

Thank you. Anyway people will have to take things into their own hands, from behind my computer I can’t help.

Too bad I’ll have to endure that islamophobic garbage without being able to object to it. Because sure as sunrise that twerp will be back.

  • Mehdi

To hell with them as you said.

  • Friend of Bosnia

Well they have banned me from BI because I replied to him in kind. They removd his very offensive comment too. A salomonic decision. Oh, well, to hell with them, if they are so squeamish…
But it’s too bad that I can no longer expose his (or other islamophobe’s) falsifications.

  • Mehdi

I half understand your anger (as I didn’t go through even 1% of the pain you went through), now, just remember that every time you get angry, it’s a victory for this thrash. And you don’t want to let them win this battle.
History will give justice on what these fascists did to multicultural Bosnia, Milosevic, Karadzic, Mladic, Arkan, Legja and all the other mass murderers all had or have to answer for their deeds, and it won’t stop.

  • Friend of Bosnia

Well, if anti-Muslim hate speech is just unnerving for me, just imagine what it must be for someone who actually went through all this.

This guy here wrote to me on the subject of deciding who will carry the flag of BiH at the Sochi Olympic Games. Om January 31st, Balkaninsight wrote an article that Serbs and Bosnisaks could not agree on wh it would be, and this guy wrote:

    Jacob R. • 6 days ago
“Further proof that this country is unworkable, disunited and has no hopes of surviving. The two entities are practically neighboring countries anyway, its time to put the final nail in the coffin of this failed state.”

Now, the next day they agreed that Zana Novakovic will carry the flag, so I replied to him:

“Yeah. Just imagine. It took them all of 24 hours to agree that Zana Novakovic would carry the flag. Utterly unworkable. . .
Why don’t you go put it in your own.”

And see what that evil subject wrote back:
    Jacob R.

“You know what’s funny? How serious and angry you get when you debate with me. I know this because I have a chance to read your comments before the moderators delete it for swearing, threatening, insulting and whatever else. Do you not know how to debate using facts and decent argument? Or do you just rely on racism, hatred and insults to prove
    your point?

Worse off, you comment and then re-edit the comment at least 5 times until you are satisfied with it. You take this all too seriously and have a lot of anger and hate behind your comments. Meanwhile, this is entertainment for me. Maybe because my job requires me to be on the computer anyway and this is a convenient way to get paid while “working”…debating with a rabid jihadist who thinks Sharia law will be
    imposed in Republika Srpska.”

This twerp knows nothing about me and see as what he defines me. If I had among my acquaintances someone who said to me half as bad things I would like very much to give him the thrashing of a lifetine he so richly deserves.
Such evil sociopathic individuals, just like the people they so adore and glorify, for example, Karadzic, Wiranto, and all such, do not deserve to walk this Earth. They have long since resigned from the human race and if there was a way to destroy their souls or to render the rest of their lives utterly miserable, I would do it gladly.

We’re on the same side here, I don’t deny at all the fact that many loons are pure fascists who are eager to get into a war and ready for all manipulation, all I was implying is that many loons are just pathetic morons, not capable of holding up for a debate and who run away embarrassed when they get humiliated.
Indeed what you say exists and is true, it’s just that for some cases I advocate mockery, but yes, many islamophobes are on a war and I do take them seriously.
Again, we’re on the same side my friend, especially as the war in Bosnia is not a topic I take lightly, one of my best friends is a war refugee and his experience is carved into my conscience forever, especially after we visited his home together.

  • Friend of Bosnia

Well, they take their time and elaborate in their statements. They use Goebels tactics of ascribing own wrongs to the opponent. See the picture above about “Muslims attacking Arakan women” Pure Goebbels tactic. they use rhetoric and manipulate the statements of their adversaries to present them se inhuman, like this guy on Balkaninsight who say that if you mention the Serbs’ genocide against Bosniaks togetherr with the Holocaust then you are diminishing or trivializig the Holocaust and therefore yaou are a Nazi, not he. Or when you say that killing almost one million Tutsi is for the Tutsi people as a whole as bad as was killing six million Jews was for the total Jewish population of that time, or killing about 100.000 out of two million Bosniaks, then you are blaming the Serbs, or the Hutu, of killing six million Bosniaks or some such. It’s all manipulation.
These people are not clowning around, they are conducting war by other means. Psychological warfare.

  • Mehdi

Some are, some are just pathetic clowns, we’re on the same side fighting these morons anyway 🙂

  • Friend of Bosnia

They’re not clowns, they’re war propagandists.

  • Friend of Bosnia

There is no proof. These are just propaganda lies. War propaganda.

  • Friend of Bosnia

What he does is just WAR PRPOPAGANDA!

  • Friend of Bosnia

I think it’s really callous indifference mixed with anti-Muslim contempt. As for Bosnia, most European politicians in 1992 probably thought: “What? are there so many Muslims around in Yugoslavia? I thought they had all gone to Turkey after the Balkans Wars of 1912-13. Oh, what a nuisance. I hope the Serbs subdue them [put them down/finish them off] quickly and then the rest can go to Turkey, and we can normalize our relations with Milosevic.” Or some such. Of course they could not or refused to think something like Srebrenica possible, and then they found themselves in a bit of an egg-on-face situation. But they just have no shame. And probably most politicians in the region too think along similar lines. Including in Muslim-majority Bangla Desh or Malaysia. They see the oppression of Muslim minorities in Burma, Sri Lanka, India, Thailand, just as a pesky nuisance because they want to continue doing business with those countries. Oh well, of course one can’t possiby ask them to declare war on Burma for this…
At least one could ask them to cut business and/or diplomatic ties with those countries but as I said they won’t do even that symbolic (shambolic?) gesture because it interferes witht their business interests. As for the people, like always they are lefzt in the lurch, because they are just pawns in the big game…

  • Reynardine

Sometimes, it is more like numbness and a state of overwhelm. Wherever you turn, slaughter, starvation, and misfortune: dammit, then you feel so small.

  • Friend of Bosnia

Actually, I don’t; but it is such an egregious act of xenophobia. And exactly the same thing is happening to the Rohingya right now. And the whole world reacts with just the same callous indifference.

  • Reynardine

You have twiced referenced the pogroms of Kishinëv: do you have family history there?

  • Reynardine

You cannot sleep next to a mad dog: let no one sleep next to Kevin Carroll.
