link to the full video. More evidence Muslims are a racialized group. White supremacists who are a bigger threat somehow are conveniently left out for being jailed without due process for their speech . Because in post-racial America internment is obviously reserved for those Black and Brown Muslims and for whites only if they’re Muslim. Also notice how he said for the duration of the conflict a conflict that as Glenn Greenwald pointed is not even supposed to end by its nature.

Murtaza Hussain, The Intercept

Retired general and former Democratic presidential candidate Wesley Clark on Friday called for World War II-style internment camps to be revived for “disloyal Americans.” In an interview with MSNBC’s Thomas Roberts in the wake of the mass shooting in Chatanooga, Tennessee, Clark said that during World War II, “if someone supported Nazi Germany at the expense of the United States, we didn’t say that was freedom of speech, we put him in a camp, they were prisoners of war.”

He called for a revival of internment camps to help combat Muslim extremism, saying, “If these people are radicalized and they don’t support the United States and they are disloyal to the United States as a matter of principle, fine. It’s their right and it’s our right and obligation to segregate them from the normal community for the duration of the conflict.”

Radicalized Americans = We the People that expect sworn servants to obey their sworn oaths…Which they have been treasoning for decades….

  • Solid Snake

Notice the last line. “Do not disobey until the Last Day”

Last I heard it isn’t the end of the world, so all those who say this charter somehow doesn’t count or it only applied to when the Muslims were weak, Nope. It’s clear as day.

That is beautiful, and should be given to leaders of Muslim countries as well as newspaper op-ed columns :))

    Summery of The Letter:

    Summary of letter

“This is a message from Muhammad ibn Abdullah, as a covenant to those who adopt Christianity, near and far, we are with them. Verily I, the servants, the helpers, and my followers defend them, because Christians are my citizens; and by Allah! I hold out against anything that displeases them.

No compulsion is to be on them. Neither are their judges to be removed from their jobs nor their monks from their monasteries.

No one is to destroy a house of their religion, to damage it, or to carry anything from it to the Muslims’ houses. Should anyone take any of these, he would spoil God’s covenant and disobey His Prophet. Verily, they are my allies and have my secure charter against all that they hate.

No one is to force them to travel or to oblige them to fight. The Muslims are to fight for them. If a female Christian is married to a Muslim, it is not to take place without her approval. She is not to be prevented from visiting her church to pray.

Their churches are to be respected. They are neither to be prevented from repairing them nor the sacredness of their covenants. No one of the nation (Muslims) is to disobey the covenant till the Last Day (end of the world).”

“There is no such as Freedom of Speech, it is just an illusion.”

Oh I’ve always known that, Vicky. In fact I said the exact same thing before. But the point is, it’s just means to an end.

  • sasboy

“Radicalized” sounds vague. On what objective criteria would people be sent to internment camps and what criteria would they be released ?

Would gun fanatics, Zionists and the KKK qualify for internment ?

Off-topic, but this is interesting: http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/jul/22/oldest-quran-fragments-found-at-birmingham-university (“One of the oldest texts of the Qur’an in the world, on parchment which was possibly made within the lifetime of the Prophet Muhammad, has been found in the collection of the Cadbury Research Library at the University of Birmingham. …”)

You know, I’ve always noticed something about most war mongers. They always highly praise, “Freedom of Speech”. But when it’s not about bashing Islam and warmongering, they stopped caring. They never truly value, “Freedom of Speech”. They keep waving freedom flag, but at heart, they have intents persecution.

  • mindy1

Because that worked so well the last time… :/

Dusting off my copy of “1984”and issues of “thought police”…..Clark has come a long distance since in 2007 Pres.campaign run when he wrote about and discussed the threat posed by the crazy neocons in DC driving to push the YINON campaign (1982) to take down 7 countries in 5 yrs…he was discussing on the campaign trail and on media often then….but he’s since joined them?? insane.
