Terrorist in Three Steps!

Gad Amr and cameraman Simon Fuller

We haven’t done many pieces on Islamophobia in Australia but it is very prevalent there as was manifest by the race riots that took place a few years ago. The video below dissects one example of provocation by the media against Muslims to reinforce the caricature of an angry young Muslim.

This piece was taken from a Dutch website. We took the google translation and made it a little more understandable.

A Terrorist in Three Steps

Are you a cameraman trying to capture an image of an angry Muslim to deliver the news that night, then this the formula for success: 1) Put your camera as annoyingly as possible in the face of a Muslim and say that you are “only” doing your work. 2) Repeat step 1 several times. 3) Call him a “f *** ing terrorist”. It’s also nice that you do not have to take security measures, because no one will attack you and you come out rather well. Note here that no other camera crew present to captured all this. That’s it. Seriously … as easy as that. Look:

Makes you wonder what you’re actually watching.

“Most importantly, will any analysis of the Cronulla race riots in 2005 take into account the racist elements on both sides? Will you mention that Lebanese gangs had been attacking White individuals, harrasing women on the beach before the disturbances began?”

So basically, a few australian youth get into a fight with some lebanese, and that completely explains that 5000-6000 white-supremacists went on a rampage, going after any brown person they could find? That sounds awfully racist to me.

“Given the hugely biased articles on loonwatch, I doubt any article would be so balanced.”

“Biased”? Really? Have you read any of the sites that are criticised here? That’s real bias. This site is pretty damn balanced in comparison.

    @ Zlatan

You said it yourself. ‘Racially’ motivated gang rapes. ‘Racist elements on both sides.

You’re correct. There are racial motivations here, not religious ones.

However, you may remember that the “Lebanese” gang rapes morphed into the “Muslim” gang rapes in some of the media coverage here (I’m Australian too) and the two words became synonymous for some.

That cameraman has got to be the worlds biggests dickhead. Though from what I’ve experienced, he’s not much worse than all other anti-Muslims. I’d also like to know if the station has apologized to the Muslim?

I’m glad that this nasty little individual has been sacked, an sincerely hope that he is never employed again.

As an Aussie, I find this sort of thing embarrasing but Emperor, dont try to pull the wool over your readers eyes. You try to link islamophobia with racism but recent attacks against Indian students (predominantly Hindu), institutionalised discrimination against Aborigines tells a tale of racism against all minorities, not jus poor muslims.

Will any future article on islamophobia in Australia include information on the horrific racially motivated gang rapes of young White women in Sydney and Ashfield by Lebanese and Pakistani gangs in 2000, 2001-2002 respectively? Will it talk about the disgusting comments by nutjob clerics describing women who don’t wear the veil as uncovered meat? Most importantly, will any analysis of the Cronulla race riots in 2005 take into account the racist elements on both sides? Will you mention that Lebanese gangs had been attacking White individuals, harrasing women on the beach before the disturbances began? Given the hugely biased articles on loonwatch, I doubt any article would be so balanced.
