    You wrote,

“The morning after and days that follow will no doubt bring the pangs of regret: that no one was strong enough to transcend the foolishness and make a real difference, and that this is all hastening to the time where things truly fall apart.”

I think this might at least partially explain why that is.

    Political Ignorance and Partisan Thinking

  • Awwaaba

How long before we start seeing some of that stealth jihad the loons have been swearing that Obama practises? 😛

And to Bonnie from BareNakedIslam, who was so sure of a Romney victory not long ago, IN YOUR FACE!

  • mjasghar

Critical – perhaps but then again electorally he is old news as he can’t stand in2016
I’m certain geller and co got money for spouting that stuff because their backers thought it could scare them a few more republican votes
The problem is that Fox News were so blatant that many people auto tuned them out or went to the daily show or Colbert for their political news
The most ironic thing is Murdoch himself tweeted on the last day that Obama probably had won lol

    Correction – John bolton

Lol I think republicans have been bitten by watching too much Fox News
They end up getting their own propaganda back at them – it seems the whole media lot in general are too lazy to get out on the street and find what people think. Result is they listen too much to people like fox who put out opinion as fact or twist facts to give misleading headlines. It’s shocking how the last few months Bbc news lot in the us have been pretty much writing off Obama and sucking up to Romney
Also the republicans need to look at the tea party and palinite lot
That lunatic fringe dominated the selection process so much they forced right wing policy and people onto a lot of the candidates and that scared a lot of people
If you think Obama is bad – and there’s a certain poster who keeps calling him Barry sontareo – imagine what a us foreign dept with Adam Bolton would have been like
Obama first win showed black and Hispanic voters they could make a difference after years of Reagan and bush disenfranchisement The republicans need to reach out to those groups but as their funding is from the people who make money out of keeping those groups down that’s going to be difficult

  • @Shahenshah,

I think there will be a lot more anti Obama conspiracy theories now that Obama has been reelected. I don’t know if any of them will be invented by Spencer or Geller, but we should expect someone to find more “evidence” of the “fact” that he’s a secret Muslim out to destroy America and Israel. I don’t think people will stop with the claims that was born in Kenya either, but at least now we know it didn’t get them anywhere.

  • Shahenshah

Wonder what ma and pa Robber Spencer and sPamella Geller would have to say about that “jihadi” Obama.

  • Shahenshah

Congrats all! Yay! Yipee! Obama won!
Whew!! Actually if Mutt had won, Americans would be donning their war uniforms now. Yay!

  • Michael Elwood

    @Generation MuslYm

Also, Joe walsh lost here in Illinois, and Maggie Hassan won in New Hampshire. The look of shock and disappointment on the faces of Romney’s supporters as the results came in really made my day:

  • Generation MuslYm

Well guys, if anything good came out of this election, it’s that nut-job from Florida known as Allen West can kiss his congressional seat good-bye. One less loon in government.

  • mjasghar

The rightwing party in the uk got back into power by having a leader who pretended to be moderate and pro certain left wing stuff especially the nhs
Cameron realised the right would vote for him anyway so let’s get the middle
Of course in power he has revealed that was all lies and is starting the hard line stuff
You don’t win by going to the extreme edge of your mainstream party . Btw cracks me up all these bbc correspondents who were sucking up to the republican rightwing as they were so sure of a Romney victory now scrambling for explanations
The live text is actually going the whole blame the blacks and Hispanics route
Tbf one good thing is people like Horowitz and geller will not be getting places in the us admin anytime soon

  • @Emperor

By the way, it sounds like Obama just won the election. He’ll be our president for four more years.

  • John

Here is the school of thought i follow

“Now, there’s one thing you might have noticed I don’t complain about: politicians. Everybody complains about politicians. Everybody says they suck. Well, where do people think these politicians come from? They don’t fall out of the sky. They don’t pass through a membrane from another reality. They come from American parents and American families, American homes, American schools, American churches, American businesses and American universities, and they are elected by American citizens. This is the best we can do folks. This is what we have to offer. It’s what our system produces: Garbage in, garbage out. If you have selfish, ignorant citizens, you’re going to get selfish, ignorant leaders. Term limits ain’t going to do any good; you’re just going to end up with a brand new bunch of selfish, ignorant Americans. So, maybe, maybe, maybe, it’s not the politicians who suck. Maybe something else sucks around here… like, the public. Yeah, the public sucks. There’s a nice campaign slogan for somebody: ‘The Public Sucks. F*ck Hope.'”

“I have solved this political dilemma in a very direct way: I don’t vote. On Election Day, I stay home. I firmly believe that if you vote, you have no right to complain. Now, some people like to twist that around. They say, ‘If you don’t vote, you have no right to complain,’ but where’s the logic in that? If you vote, and you elect dishonest, incompetent politicians, and they get into office and screw everything up, you are responsible for what they have done. You voted them in. You caused the problem. You have no right to complain. I, on the other hand, who did not vote — who did not even leave the house on Election Day — am in no way responsible for that these politicians have done and have every right to complain about the mess that you created.”

Ron Paul warned us all. Why couldn’t more of us heed his warnings?
