Fox News guest: Keith Ellison’s transactional tax could be ‘Sharia creep’

Fox News guest Jonathan Hoenig suggested today that Keith Ellison’s ‘Wall Street transactions tax’ idea could be seen as ‘Sharia creep’ given that Ellison is a practicing Muslim and that, as Hoenig says, Sharia law prohibits trading of derivatives and speculation of any kind.

    Whats more is that while Hoenig is right about sharia prohibiting the trading of derivatives, he should’ve mentioned that in certain cases, exceptions can be made to enable deferred sales if need be.

    So when a Muslim proposes an Idea such as a transaction tax, it’s looked at as sharia law creeping into America. However, if someone else were to do such a thing instead, say, someone who is Jewish, would it be observed as halacha creeping into America? Better yet, what if such a person was Christian or Hindu or Buddhist (despite Buddhism not even being a religion) & proposed such an idea or ideas? Does that mean that their religious laws are already creeping in?

    Then again, Christians no doubt made up a majority of the U.S.’s taxes being that the majority of the population is Christian so by Jonathan Hoenig’s logic, that would mean Christian law is creeping into America, wouldn’t it?
