India: Mohsin Shaikh Beaten to Death by Fanatical Hindutva Activists

The killing of the young Muslim IT professional, Mohsin Sadiq Shaikh, by fanatical members of the Hindutva organization, Hindu Rashtra Sena appears to be pre-meditated, as his killers celebrated by describing their horrific bludgeoning of Mohsin Shaikh as, “the first wicket.” An apparent reference to the taking of wickets in the game of cricket (somewhat similar to striking a batter out in Baseball). Perhaps an ominous reference to the first drawing of Muslim blood after the election of the extremist Narendra Modi.

Pune: Muslim techie killed by rightwing mob over morphed FB posts

(First Post)

Tension prevailed in Pune, after an angry mob went on rampage in the town over morphed pictures of the late Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackery, Chhatrapati Shivaji and other Hindu gods which were shared on Facebook on Saturday, and later re-circulated on WhatsApp, according to reports in the Indian Express and Hindustan Times.

A Muslim IT professional, who was no in way connected to the circulation of the pictures, was attacked by the mob and killed, say the news reports.  The Indian Express  report says, “Mohsin Sadiq Shaikh, a 24-year-old from Solapur district was beaten to death by a mob after he was returning home” from offering namaz.

His friend Riyaz who was with him when the attack took place told the paper, “Moshin was targeted because he was wearing a skull cap and had a beard.” The police arrested seven people associated with the Hindu Rashtra Sena (right-wing fringe group) and the chief of this outfit Dhananjay Desai, adds the IE report. This isn’t the only incident of violence that the pictures have caused.

According to Indian Express, the photos have triggered communal tension in the city as  “activists of Hindu outfits and political organisations indulged in violence and arson and more than 200 public transport buses and private vehicles were damaged in the past two days.”

I don’t know about that, but I do know the temples at Khajuraho (did I spell that right?) What can I say? But these too are part of the cultural heritage of Mankind and nobody should touch them. To smear all Muslims as iconoclasts because of, say, the Buddhas of Bamiyan (the loss of which I find more than deplorable; after all they were there through 1000 years of Muslim rule), is evil enough. To justify anti-Muslim iconoclastic acts with that, is beyond good and evil. Who does that approves of anti-Muslim genocide. Who is a genocidal has in my eyes forfeited all his rights on Earth and resigned from the human race, and should be trated as a mad dog.

Ah, yes. Most probably it was so. Thank you very much for explaining.

That is the case. Of course, he never contemplated that, if the Subcontinent came under axis control, its inhabitants, regardless of caste, would have been consigned to the gas vans. Nor, for that matter, did the Traitor Battalions, the aforementioned Mufti, or the unfortunate Vainakh of the Caucasus. There is no question that their fate would have been the same as that of the Ukrainian collaborators who greeted the Wehrmacht with bread and roses, only to be treated like the rest of the Untermenschen.

There are a couple of reasons for this. Practically, without refrigeration, creamed meat dishes will cause food poisoning if not eaten hot from the fire, but they keep longer if fresh yogurt or other clabber is added to them after cooking. Beneficial clabbering was probably discovered in the millennium or so between the time the Mosaic dietary laws were written and the Islamic ones were codified.

However, it is clear even from surviving texts that the Judeans, at the time of the Exodus, were not uniformly Yahwists. Who was that golden calf? Hathor. If one of your gods is personified as the Great Cow, and you get sick after eating creamed veal, your natural reasoning, in those days, would be that you had cooked the calf in its own mother’s milk and thereby pissed off Hathor. You don’t even want to piss off an ordinary dairy cow, let alone Hathor. The chances are that if you survived this episode, you’d go to great lengths to avoid pissing off Hathor again.

That too is part of the Four Freedoms.
Too bad the US administrations from Dubya on have effectively reneged from them.
Today FDR’s Four Freedoms are only words, only words. We are as far away from then as ever.

Well, that’s the problem with the Hindu (and also the Jewish) tradition.
In days long gone past the dowry was supposed to give a young couple a good start.
Muslim tradition on the other hand demands that the bridegroom (resp. his family) pay the dowry. This is most often in the form of gold jewellery which the wife retains as her fortune should her husband want to get divorced from her.
And, nost importantly, Islam expressly forbids the killing of female infants (or generally infanticide.)
So of course I prefer it that way.
Also the Jewish prohibition to make dishes with meat and milk or butter. I never could understand that. It makes no sense to me, and it can’t be due to the hot climate of the Middle East. The Arabs live in the same climate yet they don’t have that prohibition. And I’m happy that I’m not subject to either Jewish or Hindu doctrine.
Having said all this, I would never DREAM of trying to convert somebody to the Muslim faith. That is contrary to the tenet of Islam (“La ikraha fi-d-Din”). I have expressed criticism of religious practices I see as rather negative and going against common sense. (I also don’t understand why Shi’ites have to flog themselves. To me it seems like a bad imitation of certain medieval Christian practices.) Still, I respect other people and their faiths, also absence of it. After all, a majority of those who practice Hinduism (in its many different forms) or Judaism (als in many different forms) are quite happy with it, so why should one bother them?
But if they try to tread on my corns, they better beware. I especially hate it when atheists look down on me and say that I, or everybody else, have to become like them. We had that under communism and I’m heartily sick of it.

Infact, Subash Chandra Bose allied with the Nazis during the WW2. You would see a lot of posts shared by hindutvas where they would replace Gandhi’s picture from the indian rupee note with his pic.

  • Venkat

not many jews in india. probably under 10,000 i believe.
and the admiration for hitler within the fanatical hindutva cricle is not because of his antisemitism , but his stance on nationalism.
and swasthika is an ancient hindu symbol. We have those on utensils, outside our houses in the form of “kolam”etc. Has nothing to do with the Nazi party.

I read the same unjustified and unjustifiable hatred as against Bosniaks.

And I wish those fecal fascists (truer word was never spoken) to suffer in their own flesh, their own bodies, and their own families before them, the fate they intend for us Mooslims. What those people say is beyond good and evil.
I do not hate or disdain non-Muslims but hearing such hate speech makes me want to rip apart – yes literally cut to ribbons – the person who utters it.

I am a very pacifist person but if somebody said to me something only half as bad, to my face, … and knowing what consequences that can have for yours truly, yet I could not just let him walk away like that. But offer him a fair duel? No, never that. They don’t deserve it. They are mad dogs and everybody knows what must be done with mad dogs, If those fiends believe that it is all right to live as mad dogs then they should die like mad dogs.

That sort of vulgarity does not suit you grandma.

  • Reynardine

They make those, but I’d have to look.

  • Jekyll

Hmm wonder how the Jews would feel when they see swastikas on diplomatic notebooks.

  • Jekyll

Well at least they used proper grammar this time, unlike “U muslim kill bassstardd..go india way”

Hinduism is an art form and besides they were gods so mas copulatary acts were within their grasp.

adding to what you put , pakistan does not official recognize israel. and since the india vs pakistan thing is still on – since both nations haven’t sign the nuclear peace treaty yet(and the 1947 mentality still persists both sides), israel to india is a very strong strategic ally and weapons dealer.
but to be fair to india, they have voted for palestinian solidarity since israel’s indep
