ACT! for America Launching Campus Chapters As ‘Counterweight’ To Muslim Student Associations

Miranda Blue (RightWingWatch)

Anti-Muslim groups have long been convinced that campus Muslim Student Associations have radical, sinister intentions…although at least one recent effort to find evidence of this came up comically short.

Now, Brigitte Gabriel of ACT! for America is hoping to fight Muslim Student Associations by launching campus chapters of her own group to serve as a “counterweight” to MSAs.

In a fundraising email today, Gabriel asks for money for scholarships to help college students come to her group’s annual conference and prepare them “to launch an ACT for America chapter at their university and start recruiting more students to get involved in protecting America.”

“It’s time the Muslim Student Associations (MSAs) in colleges across the nation have a counterweight,” she adds.

We want to be able to scholarship these young Americans and offer them the chance at experiencing this once-in-a-lifetime event – especially this year, as we gather to remember and honor the 9/11 fallen. This experience will also prepare college students to launch an ACT for America chapter at their university and start recruiting more students to get involved in protecting America. It’s time the Muslim Student Associations (MSAs) in colleges across the nation have a counterweight. You can help get this ball rolling.

Attendance at the 2014 ACT for America National Conference will be the event that will impress upon this younger generation the urgency of protecting our nation’s future.

A few years ago, an ACT! for America tried to get UCLA to ban its Muslim Student Association , although Gabriel tried to distance herself from the campaign once it started drawing attention.

  • I am quite serious about my last sentence. I do still have faith in America – more so, I have faith in Allah, the Almighty. You do alright, you will be alright, insha’Allah.

  • I haven’t seen them doing cupcakes but I see quite a few trying to absolve themselves of any political opportunity – quite the opposite of what Hillel or the Jewish student organizations do.

Many Muslims in US are afraid of the government spying on them because of the donations they make or the protests (or for that matter, masjids) they attend or any other political thing they do. In the end, they do nothing. It has to change. The government will watch you but as long you are not doing anything illegal, you will be alright.

    Subhan Allah .

  • There are a few good ones but a lot which have no political agenda. In these times, MSAs need to be about the politics as well besides the worship and food.

  • jameyfan

Not true. I’ve had enough experience at MSAs to know they are great with outreach programs, lectures, activism, charities, etc. not just about food yo.

  • Most of the MSAs are useless anyway. They like to eat lamb biryani and chicken karahi with naans for their socials than holding political conversations about Islamophobia or the killings that Israel does. Brigitte will be pleasantly surprised since her workers will not have to work too hard.

I hate what she does, but don’t you think insulting her appearance is a bit petty? Surely we have more important things to get angry at.

if bleach cant do anything to help rid of such a horrible thought can a video of a cute kitten do something. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-U_1ZOx8rPE

It strrikes me that she is what Haitians call a “griffe”: a person of rich and varied ancestry who managed to inherit the worst traits from every side.

There isn’t enough bleach in the world to erase that thought from my brain

  • EyeOfTheTiger00

My goodness! That is one hideous looking woman. If her and Pamela Gellar had a baby, it may very well resemble the devil in looks.

These fascist truly are desperate, but their efforts are pretty much useless, after that circus show at the heritage foundation, more people know the true intentions of this fascist organization.

  • John Smith

The Islamophobes just create echo chambers (like the ridiculous Heritage Foundation event a while back) in which they parrot their hate back to each other. Then they blog and tweet about the massive victories they have achieved and ask for more donations.

The right to the freedoms of expressions and speech, then, would appear to not be like the USS Missouri so much as they are the RMS Titanic.

lol how many MSAs are going to be found in Moody Bible Institute ?

  • mindy1

Considering most Universities are liberal, I predict this will be a losing straategy except for a few bible belt area schools.

Stop mass import of muzzies, else this will happen.

Greek police capture terror fugitive in shootout that wounds four

ATHENS — Greek police arrested one of the country’s most wanted men — a fugitive convicted of terrorism — during a shootout Wednesday in Athens’ central tourist district that left four people wounded, authorities said.

Police said the wounded included two foreign tourists, a police officer and the fugitive, Nikos Maziotis. The 43-year-old has been on the run along with his wife Panagiota Roupa since June 2012 following their release from jail in 2011 after serving the maximum 18 months in pre-trial detention.

Maziotis and Roupa were convicted in absentia last year and sentenced to 25 years for participation in Revolutionary Struggle, a group active between 2003 and 2009 and best known for firing a rocket-propelled grenade into the U.S. Embassy and bombing the Athens Stock Exchange. Neither of those attacks caused injuries.
