On Tuesday 11 December six swastikas were found on the walls of the mosque in the Penhars neighbourhood of Quimper, in the Finistère department of Brittany in north-west France, the Collectif contre l’Islamophobie en France reports.
The CCIF points out that this is not the first time that the mosque has suffered such acts of vandalism. In September 2006 similar graffiti were found, and the mosque was the victim of an attempted arson attack.

We recently had a twitter exchange with the spokesman for Génération Identitaire, Damien Rieu, we asked him if he wants “no more Muslims” or “no more Islam” in France. His reply didn’t answer the questions but instead he focused on immigration and said, “no immigration.” I am not clear if that means “no immigration” from Muslim majority nations or any nations. Our questions were left unanswered.

Early on Thursday morning a swastika was found on the front of the Muslim prayer hall in the Rue de Suisse in the centre of Nice. Ramzan Magamadov, the president of the city centre Muslim association that manages this place of worship, said he was “very shocked by this racist act” and has filed a complaint.

The hate vandalisms against mosques in France is a recurring crime of intimidation, and the perpetrators love to spray “swastikas” and crosses.
The Collectif contre L’Islamophobie en France has reported that a swastika and Celtic cross were sprayed on the entrance to a mosque at Agen, in southwestern France, last week.
CcIF notes that gunshots were fired at the same mosque in 2005 and that last year a mosque in nearby Villeneuve-sur-Lot was the target of an arson attack. In 2010 a mosque at Marmande, also in southwestern France, was sprayed with fascist graffiti.

ROCHESTER – Police say they have no suspects after racist graffiti were found on the driveway of a Somali-American family.
Meanwhile Minnesota Muslim leaders called on the FBI to investigate.
A swastika and a KKK symbol, apparently referring to the Ku Klux Klan, were found on the driveway Sunday. The word “stink” was written nearby.
Fahma Mohamed told the Post-Bulletin that the symbols felt “very personal” — a message to make her family feel unwelcome.
“Minnesotans of all faiths must speak out against the hatred and intolerance that leads to this type of disturbing incident,” said Lori Saroya, executive director of the Minnesota chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MN). “State and federal law enforcement authorities should assist in bringing the perpetrators of this apparent bias-motivated crime to justice.”
Mohamed says many neighbors have brought over flowers and expressed their regret.
It took about three hours to power-wash the graffiti away.
Last May, the same symbols were painted on the siding of a house a block away. CAIR-MN had asked the FBI to look into that case as well.

Swastikas and racial slurs have been painted on the walls of a mosque in the town of Saint-Etienne, says a prominent French Muslim group.
The French Council of the Muslim Faith says the vandalism took place on Monday morning at the mosque in the Loire region, in the latest example of rising Islamophobia.
The Council says such vandalism has multiplied in France “in a very worrisome way” and repeated a demand for the government to create a parliamentary panel to study rising Islamophobia.
Muslim leaders are among those saying that a debate in France on the face-covering veil and a national identity debate have stigmatised Muslims and fed anti-Muslim sentiment.
Nazi slogans and pig feet were found in December in a southern France mosque.

CASTRES, France — Police say assailants have scrawled a Nazi slogan and hung pig feet on a mosque in southern France.
Interior Minister Brice Hortefeux has denounced the “vile and racist desecration” of the mosque in the town of Castres.
Police say the swastika in black paint and slogans including Hitler salute “Sieg Heil” in German, “France to the French” in French, and “White Power” in English were scrawled on the mosque.
Hortefeux said Sunday any person found responsible for the overnight desecration should be “severely punished.”
Assailants sporadically scrawl anti-Muslim or anti-Semitic graffiti on religious sites, cultural centers and cemeteries in France — home to western Europe’s largest populations of both Muslims and Jews.
