Brigitte Gabriel
Brigitte Gabriel is a notorious apologist for the fascist Phalange group, Kataeb, and the terrorist group, the South Lebanon Army (SLA), who were responsible for the Sabra and Shatila massacres that slaughtered 1700 to 2000 Palestinians (mostly women and chidren).
Her story is that she grew up during that nation’s long, and bloody civil war. It was a war that claimed many lives and saw many factions shift alliances and allegiance. Groups that were enemies in the morning became allies at night. Indeed, Muslims fought Muslims and Christians fought Christians.
She seems to play up this milieu to justify her views, as if we should – moved by her “alibi” – automatically excuse and accept them. But her alibi is objectionable since most Lebanese who grew up during this same war did not turn out as rabidly racist as she did.
Gabriel believes Arabs “have no soul!”
The difference, my friends, between Israel and the Arab world is the difference between civilization and barbarism. It’s the difference between good and evil [applause]…. this is what we’re witnessing in the Arabic world, They have no SOUL !, they are dead set on killing and destruction. And in the name of something they call “Allah” which is very different from the God we believe….[applause] because our God is the God of love.
(No soul? An oddly dehumanizing thing for an alleged Christian to say, don’t you think?)
It is no wonder then that theThe New York Times Magazine describes her as a “Radical Islamophobe.”
Brigitte’s self-contradiction is notable. At times she seems to acknowledge that “moderate” Muslims exist,
It’s the duty of all moderate Muslims to speak against the hate, against the Jihad… the people in the West must support the moderates.
The same Brigitte Gabriel on another day scoffs at the notion that a Muslim can be moderate,
America and the West are doomed to failure in this war unless they stand up and identify the real enemy: Islam. You hear about Wahabbi and Salafi Islam as the only extreme form of Islam. All the other Muslims, supposedly, are wonderful moderates. Closer to the truth are the pictures of the irrational eruption of violence in reaction to the cartoons of Mohammed printed by a Danish newspaper…derived from one source: authentic Islam.
And she spills out to the Australian News her bizarre definition of a radical Muslim:
a practising Muslim who goes to mosque every Friday, prays five times a day, and who believes that the Koran is the word of God, and who believes that Mohammed is the perfect man and (four inaudible words) is a radical Muslim.
Let me get this straight, so a Muslim who essentially observes the basic five pillars of Islam is a radical? That leaves us with 1.4 billion radical Muslims, so who gets to be the “moderate” Muslim, I’m confused.
So Brigitte, what is it? Are there any moderates or not? Brigitte seems to be telling us that the only acceptable Muslims are the ones who don’t practice Islam altogether? Or perhaps, she’s even implying that the only good Muslim is an ex-Muslim?
The question becomes, how can someone so blatantly clueless get airtime anywhere other than on America’s Funniest Home Videos?
The answer, Brigitte has found her very own litte niche to settle within the lucrative business of Muslim-bashing. Her forte is to parlay her “otherness,” and so-called “insider knowledge of the Muslim world,” (the “I’ve been there, I know” line) into a cash cow. Meanwhile we are supposed to be duped into freaking out and running back to her for more “expert” advice brought to us from our loyal friend who ventures into the other side on our behalf.
Gabriel started two organizations, American Congress for Truth (ACT) and (she seems to be running out of ideas) Act! for America that receive plenty of funding and “donations” from the likes of the goonish Christians United for Israel and others. Maybe she thinks Americans are gullible or maybe she is a true hypocrite as Andre Gide said,
The true hypocrite is the one who ceases to perceive his deception, the one who lies with sincerity.
This very well may be the case with our merchant of intolerance and misunderstanding, Brigitte Gabriel.

For several years now, my mailbox has been indundated with an almost steady stream of mass-forwarded messages of common denominator: anti-Muslim, anti-Islam, anti-Arab etc.
I wondered if this was the work of the R party or specifically the Bush regime. But it continues after those guys are gone (at least for the next presidential term or two). The sheer amount, focus and persistence of the e-mail campaign made clear there was a powerful group with lots of resources behind it. But sources and origins for the barrage of hate propaganda were evasive, until I began looking a little more closely. I found that you seldom have to scratch far beneath the surface to find out who’s doing all this. One word, Zionism.
Example, a recent message quoting some Australian politician speaking on the “islamification” of “his” country. The guy’s name is Rudd. That sounded familiar. So I searched the web for another Rudd I remembered, a member of the violent leftist group the Weathermen, circa late 60s. It took all of five minutes. Yep, Mark Rudd, real name Rudnitski. Race? You guessed it. Member of that race of self-sworn enemies of anything and everything Arabic since before any of us were ever born.

I’m confused, esp. by the photo. Is this woman Arab? And she claims Arabs have no souls, or just Muslims? In modern usage, Ms. Gabriel would benefit to learn, “Arabic” refers to the language while “Arab” is used at the adjective. She seems to have deep seated inferiority complexes, as do many minority ethnicities following Christianity (though how much she is an actual practicing Christian is probably doubtful). I don’t see much evidence of a “loving God” in her words.

Truth is the Bible and Quran are both advocates of love and killing, stoning etc. There is good and bad as with all religions. As with all religions, people initially believe in them for the same good intentions and culture or tradition. People are inherently good. Good people get tricked into doing bad things because of religion as much as they are encouraged to do good things. However, you don’t see the kids noticing any need to fight over religion or skin color … that comes after they are taught.
John Lennon got it right when he said All You Need Is Love. Most religions have these types of versus as well, but they are drowned in a sea of the rest of the thick books that are actually archaic methods of governance. Seems to me the need is Unitarian Universalism – an institution that reminds people of love and unity by facilitating congregation of people from all belief systems … and encouraging them to learn about all theist and non theist views.
Regarding Ms Gabriel: It is probably fair to label her as an Islamophobe. However, I appreciate her warnings. I just wish she would point out all of the evil and loving verses in both the Quran and the Bible so those Christian and Jew loons would get a clue. At least the percentage of radical christian and jew loons is not as high as those in islam … and they don’t believe in their bible enough to stone their children etc … and they aren’t prone to suicidal terrorism.

Well as far as I can tell the Koran if you look deep, does demand world domination if you can’t see that you don’t want to see it.
Not all followers look this deep thank goodness but they also don’t do much to stop the ones that do.
As far as the Bible being LOVE, the Old Testament is pretty rough but for a purpose, if you look at the Koran its like it was cherry picked copied from the old testament. The old testament shows man he needs good because man is not able to live in peace on their own and need a savior.
The Koran heads in another direction like so many other religions(mans way to god) in my opinion only. Not all islams believers see things the same just like not all christians see the world the same so I see know reason to put them all in the same boat.
One thing most Jews and Christians do not live by the old testament laws and have moved on. Christians in general follow Jesus in LOVE as best they can. These times are testing us all.
The real problem is the chipping away of our country that was founded on Judeo Christian ethics and GODS law. If folks want to come here to get away from the life they were living then don’t bring that life here so we don’t have to live it.
Make the change to american live the foundation as it is not perfect but a work in progress or don’t come here to begin with..

Brigitte Gabriel may be a little out there – but there’s no denying the Islamic terrorist threat to America. You can hug all the trees you want, but you can’t bring back all the people who were murdered in 911 – can you? What we can all do is work to prevent another such attack from happening. By the way, approximately 95% of global terrorism is Islamic in origin.

Joe re your response to Micheal. You are correct – the verses you quoted from the Bible do say those things. What you are missing is that the Old Testament is a book looked at by Christians as historical text. The New Testament is the Gospel of Christ. Christ who taught us to turn the other cheek, who is the Prince of Peace. Christ never asked people to kill in his name but to look the other way. Christ did not bear a sword and kill. Instead he was persecuted himself and forgave those who persecuted him. The book of Revelations is a premonition not something that actually happened.
I have read the Bible and the Koran. I was married to a Muslim for over 20 years. I lived in the Middle East for many years as well (Saudi Arabia). So, I have a little knowledge in this area. Islam has both violent and lovely passages in the Koran – like the bible. The difference between the two religions is that the New Testament – the book followed by Christians does not advocate violence. They choose peace. BUT- the religion of Islam does advocate violence. I have many Muslim friend who are not violent or advocate it but when they see violence on TV perpetrated by Muslims they always find a way to justify it. Sad – really – quite sad.
Here in America – we are not perfect – we make mistakes but we can admit them. Christians are not perfect – Christians try their best but we know we will make mistakes. With God’s perfect love we are redeemed. In Islam – Allah is not forgiving. He hates those who do bad and loves those who do good. There isn’t a person who walks on this earth that has never done bad so apparently Allah hates us all.

Muslim-majority countries, Muslim universities like the Al-Azhar in Egypt, Muslim organizations inside the US and beyond strongly condemned the events of 9/11 events in the strongest terms, as do I. The “islamic threat” towards your country is due to your own foreign policy, your bias towards Israel, your occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan.
As to “By the way, approximately 95% of global terrorism is Islamic in origin”, what about the terrorism Israel commits towards Palestinians? The theft of their land and demolition of their houses? What about the constant US bombing of Pakistan, the use of phosphorus in Fallujah, Iraq, and the civilain deaths in Afghanistan?

According to Christianity, God condemns all of mankind to hell because they are born of sin and they will never be perfect(as Jesus says, even if you look at a women lustfully, you have committed a sin and will go to hell). God condemns mankind to hell, even though God know we are prone to sin and that we are just human so we are imperfect. So imagine if you had a college professor who would fail you if you don’t 100% in the class, even 99.99% is an F! Would call that professor merciful or forgiving? Since we are imperfect, God has sacrifice someone who is “innocent” , his son, to redeem us. So eventhough we commit the sin and throughout the old testament God says everybody is punished for their own sin, someone completely innocent is punished. Christianity lacks justice.

I would not be the least surprised if she was a Mossad agent like Madoff was. People in the US need to wake up and see how you are being worked to help control the US foreign policy in the Mideast and else where. As a Muslim I LOVE seeing all these haters out here hating on Islam because that means one thing. Islam is really spreading faster than most people even say and its having a greater influence on everyone than most people say because if it wasn’t and it was just some hokey religion that was dying off, then you guys wouldn’t care about it!! The best part about it all of course, is that the more people hate on Islam the more they cause people to convert because they are calling attention to it =)

Miss Brigitte Gabriel sounds like a most hurt person, and as a revenge she is pouring out her hate aginst Islam and the Muslims. But her rants seem to indicate her utter ignorance about the religion of islam and her hateful propaganda must be a complete waste of time.
I am a Muslim, and my in-laws are all Christians. I also have many Christian and Jewish friends. I am also on very freindly terms with two Christian ministers. There is no question that the Muslims, Christians and Jews believe in the same one God, regardless of what Brigette Gabriel says. When she says that Allah is very different than God that Christians and Jews believe in, then she is either very ignorant or she is delibrately hiding the truth. Muslims believe in God of Abraham, Moses and Jesus. Brigitte Gabriel seems to mongering hate.
Miss Gabriel! Please take time out from your mission of hate, and study about Islam before condemning it. You are committing a great injustice to the faith of 1.5 billion people. Once you learn up about the love, mercy and justice of Islam, you will think differently. You don’t have to remain ignorant. Exercise your God-given right to learn more about Islam.
I knew a young Christian student at a university in the New York state who took a class in world religions. But he suspected that his professor was not doing justice to Islam in his teachings. So, the young student decided to check out a copy of the Qur’an from his university library and study it himself to see what Islam taught. Guess what? He was so impressed by what the Qur’an taught that he decided to become a Muslim. So all those who want to learn about Islam , read the Qur’an first, then make an opinion about Islam. Qur’an does not teach violence any more than the Bible does. Important thing is not to read verses out of context, whether it is Qur’an or Bible.
It is true that Islam is the fastest growing religion in the West and the increase in anti-islam propaganda indicates that the enemies of Islam are frustrated and in a state of panic. The level of hate and ignorance expressed in anti-Islam rants on the internet indicates their desperation. But the more anti-Islam poison these people spew out, the more attention and sympathy islam gets. But Islam is the Truth from our God, and that is the reason it is spreading so fast. it is our Creator,God Almighty, Who is spreading it in His Wisdom.
Miss Gabriel! Please consider accepting Islam and ask God for forgiveness. He is Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.

To April 29 “Islam” … It is not sound logic to believe that because something is found in error and others speak out about it the premise is correct. Islam has spread by the sword, by lies and deceit, by propaganda, and censorship. I doubt seriously that websites like these are readily available in most Muslim countries.
It saddens me to believe that Christ came to earth and gave us an image of who God is and how we are to honor him and Mohammad came to earth and changed for Muslims the path to God. Jesus Christ, the Anointed, the King of Kings, is the only One who gave freely his perfect life for me a sinner.

That’s nonsense. Spain, which was ruled by Muslims, is still a Catholic country. India, which Muslims ruled, is still by far a Hindu country. What Muslim army conquered Indonesia, the world’s most populous country? (none, it was spread by trade) How did Islam spread to China where there are at least 25 million Chinese Muslims? (trade, no sword) If anything, Christianity was spread by the sword. Read your history. How did Christianity spread to South America? North America? The Philippines? Africa?
I’m not sure what you mean by “lies”. You seem to think that because Islam contradicts Christian principles, that means Islam is lying or is being deceitful. I can say the same thing about Christianity since it contradicts Islamic principles.

Tough luck man. Christianity did not get to take over the entire world. It faced a formidable opponent in Islam. You seem to resent that.

I believe that she is saying that the moderate muslims are… I suppose the ‘cafeteria’ type who draw moral teachings but ignore certain things, like perhaps who do not think of Muhammad as perfect.
Believing ANY person to be perfect to me seems radical. This applies to Christians with perceiving Jesus as perfect as well. It seems far too extreme.

My respected friend,
At the time of the Prophet Muhammad there were true followers still following the religion of Jesus. They believed in one god without any partners, they believed Jesus was a prophet and will intercede for his own people that he was sent for. I’m sure these people immensely loved Jesus but they were expecting the coming of a last messenger and final word of God. He lived the law of God and practiced it in his everyday life. Muslims share stories about Jesus with our kids and our families just like all the stories of other prophets. There are many good stories to be told about Jesus to Muslims just as long as they don’t contradict what we hold to be truth about him.
I know that doesn’t answer your question but I hope it provides some insight to the state of mind of some early Christians that accepted Islam.

The blood bath that is Islam speaks for itself. Where were the voices of outrage in the Muslim world when Muslims, yelling “Allah Akbar”, murdered school children in Beslan, Russia or when Muslims cut off Nick Berg’s head in the name of Allah? The silence was deafening. Islam is the worlds most bigotted, anti-semitic religion and you can’t hide behind “western liberalism” forever.

My problem with Islam is its inability to tolerate the slittest challenge or analysis of facts about the randy guy they call their prophet.For God’s sake what abuse is greater than taking a nine year old girl to bed and claim it was an instruction from God that detest any form of human right abuse? If the girl were your daughter, what would have been your reaction?

Brigitte Gabriel is making a statement about Radical Muslims. She may be overstating the issue, but in truth, It was the Radical Muslim that killed 3,000 Americans on their own soil. It is the Radical Muslims who avowed to kill all Americans and Infidels because they will tolerate nothing but domination of peoples religions. Do you think we should do nothing to protect ourselves? Don’t let others control your mind with rhetoric. Extreme Radical Muslims are dangerous and need to be taught a lesson that coming after Americans and their friends is more dangerous than they thought. Radical Muslims are despicable around the world. If they can’t tolerate others, we will teach them. You wanna see Allah? No problem!

A radical extremist doesn’t just terrorize for fun and joy, but because of an incident that occured to her/him. So when Bush took on Iraq for no reason except oil, many families and tears were turned to blood (not just soldiers’ but actual citizens’). The mass murderings of local citizens was favored as accidental and not to be mistakened again, but mistakes were turned into purpose when torturings and rape assaults occured in villages, Abu Ghraib prison, prisons held by U.S. soliders, and more. Now, a member of a murdered family won’t just sit there and watch more families killed “accidentally”, so this member would do something about it. These members are known to the West as “terrorists, extremists, islamists, etc…” Extremists don’t just attack what they call nonbelievers (U.S., Israel, etc…) but also the believers (Muslims in Pakistan, Afghanistan, India, etc..). So what’s feuling them?? > Oh nothing just some angry Anti-Islamists with big banners in front of mosques, angry Anti-Islamists labelling Muslims as devils or extremists, and the list goes on and on.
To tell you all the TRUTH (which I know most will just laugh at and won’t believe in it), Islam is a religion of peace- that means Muslims, in general, cannot kill or harm anyone; they can’t lie to even a ‘disbeliever’. I have many Christian, Jewish, Athiest, Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist friends who I treat as my own brothers and sisters; they don’t nuke me and I don’t nuke them; they play sports with me and I play sports with them; I shed their tears and they shed mine; I don’t think they’re “indifels” and they don’t think I’m a terrorist. But thanks to many media people, confusing and turning people’s minds to hate on the wrong side is what they do best. So I’m telling to WHOEVER reads this post that Muslims, even in America, should treat everyone as equals. There might some fanatics out there, not that I’ve seen one, but they only bring on hate towards the people whom they think have been interpreted by the media.
Martin Luther King, Malcom X, Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Theresa, and many more great examples of humanity have fought and died for one message- a unity for ALL of us to share even though there may be the differences concerning what color we are or what religion or country we come from- either way, that we all share a common interest- peace and love- “looking the other way” would murder this message causing their deaths meaningless but then again it’s a choice. I and many others have decided to take this message and shine it upon the haters blinding their eyes of confusion and hate. But it’s upto anyone who reads this message to decide which side they take; will it by the side of the message or the side of the endless war?

Jihad is very real….the Christian community across the world has been in a state of denial about this….now it is time for us to wake up and in the least be aware of the threat it poses….Brigette Daniel is just doing it!!! (Keep up the good work)….You won’t know what she is talking about unless you are a victim (when you cannot call your land yours and to be denied all your rights because you are not a Muslim!!!)

What many of you can’t seem to grasp is that Islam is not a peaceful society. They are hell bent on taking over the world, much the same as Christians with the exception that if you don’t follow “Allah” you are an infidel and worthy of only death, there is no second option. At least the Christian faith wants all to live in peace and love of God.
If you can’t see that Islam is a threat to the world, not just the U.S. you are as loony as your own outlook towards Brigitte Gabriel.
If you want to believe in Islam that is your choice, but you also have to read their bible to understand that a larger percentage of them believe differently than the standard Christian and differently to the extreme.

Regardless of which side of the fence you are on this issue it is in your own best interest to be ever vigilant. Don’t just assume what you hear from the media or on your favorite blogspot is the truth. Research it. These are important issues. There is alot of hate on both sides, but the majority of people are decent and want to know the truth. You can’t just bury your head in the sand and hope it will all go away. Only an informed and united populace can make the best decisions without fear of making a mistake.

I find it surprising that the Muslim community sits quietly while the fanatics co-opt their religion. They should be writing editorials, demonstrating. going on TV and do everthing possible to distance themselves from the radicals. But their silence is deafening. I recently asked an imam in my city why this was so, he gave me a lame excuse that it is too expensive! Too expenxive to isolate the jihadists?? Give me a break! They must have sunk all their money into that huge mosque they are building.

As an atheist I can only smile at these comments. Seems like you have to be religious to hate absolutely. As a former fundamentalist I understand where you guys are coming from. The only thing that makes sense to you is stuff that reinforces your faith. Rational thought and the sciences are shut out from your minds. You are preoccupied with hating atheists and others whose religious beliefs differ from your own. I think this is so sad. We are here for such a short time and there is so much information about our earth and our universe that will enrich the life of anyone who devotes the time to learn. Like the pyramid, the ignorant, the unwashed and the gullible represent the bottom. The informed, the educated and the literate dwell at the top. You are sadly missing out on so much and I pity all of you.
