Some Want Loonwatch to Be Silenced

Loonwatch is obviously being attacked by rogue hackers who want to silence the anti-hate, pro-freedom voice. The hackers present themselves as Arabs from Egypt or Morroco, but an investigation into their IP’s casts doubt on where the attacks are really originating.

We have seen in the time since we started publishing online that those who proclaim to be “freedom lovers”, standing up for “freedom of speech” and “Western civilization” have turned out to be the biggest hypocrites.

This is exposed by their malicious attack on our site. They do not wish to play by the rules of the game, sincere and factual criticism backed up by a plethora of evidence scares the “beejezus” out of them and so they resort to dirty tactics such as these.

Is it surprising that they chose to attack us on our highest traffic day? Someone out there wants Loonwatch to be silenced.

  • I think the problem is deeper than you thinkm, I have had my shop hacked three times by hackers who appear to be muslim or arab, my own site has some anti Iraeli stuff on it and links for boycot of goods, so why me? Obvious to me is that it is people pretending in order to punish me!! maybe i’m paranoid, but three times in a short space of time?

Thanks DrM! Hope all is well with you. =)

A post iftar toast to your post, Les!

“I think your comment that this site supports free speech because some, though not most, critical comments are allowed speaks volumes.”

Hey asshole. If you don’t like the comments policy here, then leave. I’ve been on loonwatch for over a year and I have seen pro-Islam comments snipped and moderated. Some of my own comments have not gone through, maybe they were too harsh. But I accept it. Loonwatch policy is consistent. Most of your shitty comments are off-topic anyways. Your hero Spencer moderates many comments on Gee-Hawd watch he deems unworthy, so you have no right to come here and cry about free speech.

  • JihadBob, do you think Jihadwatch supports freedom of speech? Obviously it doesn’t because every comment pointing out the site’s bigotry, hypocrisy, and misinformation is censored by the cowardly Spencer because he is unable to refute anything a sensible person says.

Spencer and Pamela don’t fight “Islamism”, they fight against ALL Muslims and ALL of Islam. They have a deep distrust for Muslims and anything good a Muslim does is “Taqiyya”. The sooner you realize this the better.

Your post is laughable. It reveals your hypocrisy. You will NEVER point out the Spencer’s suppresion of freedom of speech because you agree with his genocidal ideas.

You can go ahead “support the Constitution” by banning mosques and minarets. Later you can defend America by telling Pamela that you want to deport all Muslims and invade their countries (because invading their countries has caused less terrorism!).

  • JihadBob

***I question the veracity of what you are saying. People like you hide behind freedom of speech to insult muslims & islam left & right, but the moment someone calls you lot out i.e calls Rob Spencer anti-muslim, you cry slander and libel***

That’s what free speech is, you moron.

I think your comment that this site supports free speech because some, though not most, critical comments are allowed speaks volumes.

You really are a good reminder of why Leftism and Islamism need to be fought tooth and nail by individuals who actually uphold the US constitution.

What a disgrace you and your ilk are for Western society.

Sad day when those who defend suppression of opinions they don’t like are labeled progressives.

“Les, you are the bigot for smearing families of 9/11 victims. And Islam is not a race.”

I didn’t smear anyone liar. And Islam has been largely racialized. For proof, see the near lynching of the black man that your ilk thought was a Muslim because he “looked” like one. Or the Arabic speaking Egyptian Copts that the anti-Muslim mob thought were Muslims. It’s that stereotype that’s racist. There are definitely elements of racism to anti-Muslim bigotry and Islamo-hatred (we’ve gone way past Islamophobia).

Nonsense Mosizzle. Zakat is not only permissible for a cause like Loonwatch but even preferred over any other cause. The greatest use of Zakat is considered the defense of truth over any other need or cause.

The logic is that if lies and injustice prevail, then oppression, hate, and possibly violence prevail, followed by disenfranchisement, destitution and the creation of all the other “needs” that Zakat would have to assist. And so spending on maintaining truth and justice is considered money best spent in the long term and the best use of Zakat per the Islamic rationale of efficiency and effectiveness.

Having said that, I cannot wait either when LW starts accepting paypal donations. I think this is a unique service that no other blog or website or even well-funded national organization provides. It is clearly making the bigots jittery because they are feeling the heat of being exposed in clear, concise, and factual arguments. So I know where my Zakat would be going. Come on LW!

  • Mosizzle

Zakat is not applicable to LoonWatch.

It must be given to the poor for the fard to be complete. Aside from that, other non-fard donations can be made.

  • @JihadBob

The fact morons like you are allowed to post here, is enough proof freedom of speech is perfectly tolerated here. Another moron by the name of Lawrence is nothing more than a troll, and yet his comments rarely get moderated, and even if they do, they still show up.

I question the veracity of what you are saying. People like you hide behind freedom of speech to insult muslims & islam left & right, but the moment someone calls you lot out i.e calls Rob Spencer anti-muslim, you cry slander and libel

Hacking is considered terrorism, which means that if it were a purported Christian who hacked into this website then this would be considered “Christian terrorism”.

  • nat

    @ Rocky Lore

He did no such thing, liar.

  • “I want to give my Zakah to loonwatch or at least donate to them through paypal, when WILL ALLOW US TO DO THIS?????? This way you can use the money to get more internet security and avoid being hacked again”

This is a superb idea. I would give my zakat for this as well.

@Rocky: Ironic, considering most of the anti-Muslim protesters don’t seem to know it (that Islam isn’t a “race”); however, that does not change the fact that they are overwhelmingly quite racist, in addition to being anti-Muslim bigots. More ironically, while you point out conflating Islam with race as a categorical error, you yourself make the same kind of mistake by conflating 9/11 families with being, apparently, 100% non-Muslim–which is also wrong. That’s some impressive mental gymnastics, really.

  • julian riotoni

“What Christian Terrorism” Says Robert Spencer?

Hmmm how about a Catholic Priest, one of the leaders of the IRA who bombed Claudy NI in 1972 killing 9 people.
But, of course Spencer will say that the civil war in Northern Ireland, as he has done, was Sectarian and not religious. Kind of like the opposite to the war in Kosovo, which ran along the same lines between sectarian and religious but Spencer conveniently ignores the sectarian part of the Kosovan war as it involves Muslims.

  • Awesome

Rocky Lore, there is no reason to oppose the Islamic cultural center, except for bigotry.

  • lan astaslem

You haven’t even got to the bottom of who hacked your site yet and you’ve already determined that they’re racist bigots etc etc

  • mindy1

@nat, it started at 10:00 am, not quite sure who organized it(i heard about it on the news), and was attended by an interesting mix of people-socialists, interfaith preachers, at least one minister, a few other jews, and a muslim family that lost someone on 9/11:(. We had no megaphone-you needed a separate permit, and we could only march in place, rather than going to the anti-mosque people. Most people talked religious freedom, a couple mentioned socialism. I had to pass some of the anti-mosque people, and they were creepy looking-lots of motorcycle helmets, people claiming to be 9/11 rescue workers, some non-military types dressing in camouflage. Our side had some people from Veterans for Peace. A couple of scuffles broke out when some anti-mosque people wandered over to our side, but it was overall peaceful.

  • Rocky Lore

Les, you are the bigot for smearing families of 9/11 victims. And Islam is not a race.
