I agree that they should be left alone to march but, as Sam says and as I pointed out, the EDL have yet to have a peaceful march and seem incapable of doing so. The UAF type groups do provoke them sometimes, that is granted, but at the same time we are talking about people who are often well known football hooligans; they don’t need much to set them off (same goes for some of the UAF types who are anarchists and just use the EDL as an excuse).

Leaving these people alone does show them for what they are, a bunch of racist, idiotic drunken louts with very a very small level of support and membership. I just wish we would stop effectively glorifying these fools.

Bob, it’s not UAF members who have been caught setting fire to a mosque, breaking into houses, smashing the windows of Asian-owned businesses and trying to incite further violence during the London Riots. The EDL is a violent organisation, from top to bottom, and I maintain my invitation to you to browse the Facebook pages of the EDL and it’s local chapters to get a better look of what these thugs are planning to do to our country. You live in America, so I don’t think you have a say in this. We have to live here. And an organisation whose leaders consistently call for “Paki-bashing” and whose members have been caught doing so, is certainly not good for England.

I actually agree with the ‘trolls’ this time. I think that the EDL should march in peace…from pub to pub…and everyone with a camera should film the march and put it on YOU TUBE.

That way, for prosperity sake, the world…and future employers, good educational institutions, the police, and others who want to protect themselves, thier interests, companys, neighbourhoods, children, and nation can see them for who they are.

bob have you ever seen an EDL ‘march’? The EDL plan for them to begin and end with a pub for a reason you know… they are effectively glorified pub crawls on a large scale.

Yes, people have a democratic ‘right’ to demonstrate, they don’t have a right to trash various town centres or tie up extraordinary amounts of police resources because they tank up on larger before heading out. There are genuine protests in the UK and other nations, none of them cause the amount of disruption and chaos the EDL ones do.

And the UAF group may not be much better at times but at least they don’t act like a bunch of pissed football fans and can actually be spoken to civilly and won’t brick you for disagreeing. And at times the UAF and similar groups have not even ‘counter protested’, especially when the EDL were just starting out. Those ‘protests’ culminated in near riots as the EDL entered ‘Asian’ areas with the simple aim of finding someone to fight. So yes, lets let these peaceful football hooligans have they pub crawl shall we…
