JihadWatch Zombie Eric Allen Bell Thinks He Hit it Big On Eric Bolling Show

Posted on 03 July 2012 by Garibaldi

"Can I haz cheeeezeburger?"

“Can I haz cheeeezeburger?”

Remember JihadWatch zombie Eric Allen Bell (real name Eric Edborg), the failed D level-movie producer who moved to Murfreesboro, Tennessee and decided to make a documentary about the concerted anti-Mosque campaign by local conspiracy theorists and religious wing-nuts? During the time Bell was filming his documentary he used to constantly email us, asking us to publish his writings and advertise his documentary, his articles were usually so terrible that we declined. There was always something strange about Bell, and this strangeness manifested itself when Bell joined the ranks of the JihadWatch looniverse.

When Bell’s documentary failed to achieve the payback he had hoped for, (he expected to make money off of the venture, just like he does from his GlobalOne.tv site, a new-age spiritual mishmash with adverts from psychics) he turned to funding from the Islamophobia movement.

His fortunes in this regard gained some momentum, he became fast friends with Robert Spencer, who tried to plug him into the Islamophobia network the best he could. Unfortunately for Bell, because he is ignorant about most things (especially Islam and Muslims), and because he is an opportunistic charlatan his gamble on bigotry failed.

Soon after his conversion to Islamophobia, armed with nothing more than a quick anti-Muslim crash course from Robert Spencer’s indoctrination program, Bell decided to debate a Muslim apologist by the name of Nadir Ahmed. The debate was a set up, the Glazov gang decided to try and “gang up” on Mr. Ahmed–humiliation ensued. It was clear that when it came to the topic of Islam and Muslims “even an illiterate 12 year old Afghan child memorizing Quran all day in a madrassah could defeat Eric Allen Bell in debate.”

Bell was so distraught after the humiliation that he remarked, “may be time to take a sabbatical from my jihad against jihad”.

Bell’s short sabbatical is over, he is back to his “jihad” against Muslims, he believes that his humiliation has subsided and people have forgotten that he doesn’t really know much about…well…much.

He’s been busy marketing himself as a “liberal” turned counter-jihadist who stands firmly against the religious freedom of Muslims in Murfreesboro. That’s how he is selling himself now, as a former PC Liberal who has “awakened” to the the threat of Islam. In this regard Bell received attention on the usual run-of-the-mill right wing sites, as well as in USA Today and the Huffington Post. The comments on the aforementioned stories about Bell were quite blistering, essentially cementing him as a micro-version of a flip-flopping Mitt Romney, who doesn’t know his ass from his mouth.

Bell, undeterred by such humiliation is going whole hog, believing in the Hollywood myth that any publicity is good publicity. In this vein Bell’s hit the gold, he finally made it…to the Eric Bolling Show on Fox News. (h/t: CriticalDragon):

Fox’s Bolling Can’t Get Enough Of Guest’s Inflammatory Anti-Muslim Comments

JUSTIN BERRIER (Media Matters)

Fox News’ Eric Bolling continued his campaign against American Muslims today, endorsing the views of a filmmaker who claimed Islam is “the worst, most deadly idea in the history of the world.”

Bolling’s guest was Eric Bell, a filmmaker who produced a documentary on a mosque in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Bell claimed he originally saw “the Muslim community as victims” and that he had an “inclination to stick up for them.” Bell further claimed that after doing “some serious research about Islam” he found that Islam is “a radical, savage religion” and “the worst, most deadliest idea in the history of the world.” According to the Huffington Post, Bell said in a different interview that “the biggest threat to human rights is Islam.” Not only did Bolling not push back on Bell’s inflammatory rhetoric, he responded to Bell by saying he would “[l]ove to have you back and maybe expand on it a little bit more.”

At the end of the program, Bolling replayed the worst of Bell’s anti-Islam comments and announced that he would return the next day for another interview, hyping Bell as someone who “told the truth about radical Islam.” But during his interview, Bell did not limit his attacks to “radical Islam,” he attacked the religion itself. Bell attacked Islam’s prophet Mohammed before claiming Islam “is a radical, savage religion” and called it “the worst, most deadliest idea in the history of the world”:

BOLLING: What is actually happening? I only have a couple of seconds. Tell me what you found.

BELL: I found that there’s a man who raped a 9-year-old girl, who owned slaves, who killed his critics, who beheaded a tribe full of Jews named Muhammad who is the highest moral example in Islam for 1.6 billion people. And that this is a radical, savage religion. The people aren’t all radical, thank god. But the religion is the worst, most deadliest idea in the history of the world. And we need to make sure that we keep a close eye on it in this country.

Bolling’s endorsement of Bell’s views came just days after a resident of Texas was indicted for “threatening to use violence” against the Murfreesboro mosque. In addition, The New York Times reported that the construction site of the mosque “has been repeatedly vandalized” and construction equipment at the site “has been set on fire.” Other mosques around the country have also been subjected to vandalism and arson. But it should come as no surprise that Bolling endorsed Bell’s extreme anti-Muslim comments, as he has a history of extreme, anti-Muslim comments himself.

    @CriticalDragon

    unfortunately, you are correct. Muslims are an insignificant segment of the population when it comes to numbers when voting. Not to mention that the Muslim community has a very hard time uniting for a common cause due to several factors that divide it. The only way to challenge the Right-Wing establishment is for individual Muslims to breakthrough into the mainstream and do it from there. Muslim writers, actors, businessman, athletes, and other Muslims in high profile positions in society should be able to challenge the anti-Muslim/Arab discourse emanating from the Far Right.

    @Solid Snake

    Unfortunately since Muslims are an insignificant of the US population, it may not have much effect come election time, unless we can get more non Muslims like myself who happen to be independent or Republican, angry enough at the republican party, that most of their candidates will loose the election. But even than it probably won’t stop this unless we can make it really obvious that their Islamophobia was a major factor in them loosing.

  • Solid Snake

    @JSB

    Up to your old antics, old chap? You’re fighting a losing battle my friend. This is the internet, where the first casualties are spelling and grammar! HAHAHAHAAA!
    lol just kidding…keep fighting the good fight!

    Its amazing how the Right-Wing drove away one of their most supportive minorities, the Muslims. I remember going with my father to our local elementary school on voting day, he was telling me how Bush is going to help Muslims and Arabs. He told me how he wasn’t voting for a Democrat because he didn’t agree with some of their social policies. That was tthe first time Bush was voted in. Now, claiming to be a Muslim/Arab and a Republican elicits many confused reactions from people. All I hear from the Right-Wing is anti-Islamic/Arab discourse. The main Right-Wing media organ, Fox News, consistently features rabid anti-Muslim/Arab guests and constantly expresses blatant anti-Muslim/Arab sentiment without protest from the main Republican/Right-Wing party.

    And now even the Democrats have gotten in on the ant-Islam/Muslim/Arab game. Well at least we have third parties to vote for.

    Yes, I remember you telling us that. I’m glad you saw the error of your ways as well.

    @CriticalDragon1177: I agree. People most certainly can change. As I’ve mentioned before, I was myself quite a Jew-Hater for a number of years.

    Never be too quick to judge-up against Africans! as much as Fox News is sooo chezeeee, empire is everywhere lurking (for dumb clients)!

  • Wanderer

    Listen to Bolling trying to make Bell sound like a credible filmmaker, as if an endorsement from Michael Moore is all you need to be taken seriously. I am thankful we don’t have Fox News in South Africa.

    CriticalDragon1177 Says: “If the Mosque was a synagogue and he was talking about Judaism instead of Islam, and he said, “This is a radical, savage religion. The people aren’t all radical, thank god. But the religion is the worst, most deadliest idea in the history of the world. And we need to make sure that we keep a close eye on it in this country.” How many people would not see that for what it is? How many people wouldn’t call him and antisemitic? Even Robert Spencer’s disgustingly hypocritical Boss, David Horrowitz would be rightfully offended and certainly fire him on the spot.”

    Bingo Critical! Bingo!! The sad part about the Islamophobia imbecility its not the trash-worthy spewings of the ignorants, but the double-standard of those that don’t seem to care to see the exact pattern and are silent about it.

  • Géji

    lol, seriously, what happened to this guy since the short period he’d joined the Islamophobia wagon? this recent picture of him isn’t quite the same as his picture just a year ago. The guy balloon-up! so is’t he’s since eating his portions with Spencer, or is’t that just because the Islamphobia wagon being fully abundant in crap anyway naturally thus his meals got richer!?

    @BuddhaShrink,

    Fox News sucks!

    Garibaldi,

    By the way, I just thought of something. No one mentioned this here before, so I will. Someone should point out to bell, that perhaps the reason so many liberals hear “Muslims” when he says “Islam,” is because he’s basically demonizing Muslims, in the way that he criticizes Islam. If you listen to what he says, he’s either being very sneaky or he’s not thinking things through. How else could we keep an eye on Islam, without keeping an eye on Muslims? There’s no Islam, without Muslims. If he really wants people to stop thinking “Muslims” when they hear him say Islam, than first and foremost he needs to stop acting like we need to be suspicious of Muslims. Its obvious given what he says that that’s what he thinks, even if he accepts the fact that not all Muslims are violent or extremists. He’s either not thinking things through very well, or he’s being deceptive. Because its obvious what the implications of what he is saying is, if you just think about it for a moment or two.

    If the Mosque was a synagogue and he was talking about Judaism instead of Islam, and he said, “This is a radical, savage religion. The people aren’t all radical, thank god. But the religion is the worst, most deadliest idea in the history of the world. And we need to make sure that we keep a close eye on it in this country.” How many people would not see that for what it is? How many people wouldn’t call him and antisemitic? Even Robert Spencer’s disgustingly hypocritical Boss, David Horrowitz would be rightfully offended and certainly fire him on the spot.

    So we know from study after study, those who depend on Fox News for information are less informed than those who watch no news at all. Thanks Garibaldi for providing us with yet another example as to why this is true.

  • http://www.youtube.com/user/GargamelGold?feature=mhee CriticalDragon1177

    @Garibaldi

    You’re Welcome. Anyway, I’ve made bigger mistakes than that when I’m in a hurry, so no big deal.

    I was writing this article so quick that I forgot to hat tip Critical Dragon as well! Thank you Critical.

  • Garibaldi

    @Just Stopping By, thanks for the catch.

    @Phoe,

    I don’t know what to tell you other than people change. As much as I hate to admit it now. I was once an Islamophobe myself. I used to actually admire people like Spencer and Geert Wilders. In fact I have an old Google account that I will no longer use, because I’m now so embarrassed and ashamed of some of the stupid things I said.

    Maybe one day, Eric will come to see the mistake he has made as well, before it is too late, and than he will turn around and denounce people like Spencer. We can at least hope, that something happens that gets him to accept what a incredibly stupid mistake he has made.

    1. A hundred years ago, he would have been using the derogatory ‘Moslem’ not Muslim- so were progressing.
    2. ‘Spread by the Sword’ yea, maybe 15% at it’s peak but from historical wisdom, Conversion comes from a constant diametric responsive reality. The more you bang on Muslims, the more will convert. How many generations of future Muslims will bloom from the wars on us since 2001 or from last century’s imperial malfeasance. The 12th century mongols were more angry than these tele-clowns and destroyed Baghdad, our ‘age of reason’ HQ. What happened- the Mongols recognizing the value of Islam, learned it and built mosques in whole central Asia and even inroads within China.

    3. A western punk may perpetuate a beer guzzling, video-centric, downhill lifestyle that maybe has kids in a maybe staying marriage, and maybe sets the bar for ‘white standard virtue and ethics, leading onward ho.
    But no, there’s a good chance if not single, has one kid allowed to go gay, free roam whatever toxic social tundra grass and eat it. -Or neither father nor son stand for any greater picture beyond the daily gains and their insular-world bubble. (this is generalities & way 2many fit this bill)
    Now Add One Drop Islam -
    I go into a Perth Mosque with blue sky and distant sea breeze wafting and see inside for friday prayers standing shoulder to shoulder allowing no breach solidarity the usual pan-Asian pious with a local, arab, local, malay, local. Half the locals in that mosque were wearing beach T’s barely over tattooed shoulders and past the knees billabongs – They were rough, but alot of beginners & you take the fortitude of 1 convert, keeping life simple and in tangent with larger natural dynamic, you can expect, girlfriend promoted fast-track to wife, an empowered matriarchy established, 4 kids, good base ethic education, stamina in adversity and a well concreted lineage foundation with 1.5 billion brothers to connect to.

    Sheesh. ‘Civilization Survival 101′ is our ‘A’ score while the west has few base templates / fractured unverified written Christianity, some corrupted offshoots, some 1 track scientology songs, or indulge some snazzy stuff but temporal. Or when fully devolved, hippies left blind clawing on trees caressing the beautiful signs of god, filling their heart with false indulgence but definitely not god.

    Seriously, ‘The West’ -pull up your pants and quit fiddling your desires in such a fever. Your civilization is getting on in the years and it’s unbecoming your of your ‘Madonna’. (seriously italy- her concert is like- heresy)

    PS For Catholics who really want to respect Blessed Mother Mary, we keep her reputation intact and has she her own chapter in the Quran, to refer upon. My Apologies to any Christians if earlier I was a bit harsh.

    This is so bizzare! I TOTALLY remember this guy from the Park51 (“Ground Zero Mosque”) Facebook FAN page. He was always plugging his movies, which I found not very impressive and always trying to be a friend. He used to be up in arms about right wingers and came off as a super liberal social justice fan who wanted to be taken seriously. I would definitely describe him as a friend of Park51 before I read this article, because that’s the impression he gave.

    It’s clear that he wanted to take the up-and-coming news issues and desperately have something to contribute to them, so he chose the whole Park51 debate from a liberal angle, and when nobody paid attention, he tried the totally opposite direction, which worked because in Fox news, fear and phobias are always up-and-coming.

    Even on the Park51 page, where he was one of the regulars, I felt like he was kinda trying too hard – he seemed way pumped about debunking Islamophobia, to an extent where I felt a little pity… like nobody was caring and he was trying so hard. But his movie clips just weren’t that good… :( Anyway, total trip to see this nobody get the “somebody” status that he was so desperately seeking, hahahaha!

  • Isa

    Although I have no evidence to prove this, I have a very strong feeling that Bell either got “paid off” by someone in the Islamophobosphere to “change” his ideology, or he willingly went in that direction so that he could make some money. After all, Islamophobia is a Big Business right now.

  • mindy1

    I want to do a brain scan on him, should be interesting…
