Tulsa DA refiles hate crime case in December attack on woman

Tulsa County prosecutors have refiled a state hate-crime case that was dismissed two months ago pending a potential federal prosecution that hasn’t developed.

With a decision reached that federal authorities were not going to take the case, the Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office last week refiled three misdemeanor counts against Stuart David Manning, 43, of Tulsa.

Manning is charged with assault and battery, malicious injury to property, and malicious intimidation or harassment because of race or color, which is how Oklahoma’s hate-crime law is worded in state statutes.

He is accused of violating the law by hitting a woman in the forehead and vandalizing her vehicle while repeatedly calling her a “Muslim b—-,” according to an arrest and booking report.

The woman told police that the man — alleged to be Manning — got upset because he thought she parked too close to his vehicle in the 1500 block of North Lewis Avenue on Dec. 13.

Manning was initially charged Jan. 10 with the same three counts that he faces again. He was free on bond when the original case was dismissed Feb. 27. Manning’s arrest and booking report describes the woman as being from Lebanon and says she has a “thick Middle Eastern accent” and the appearance of “someone that typically is of the Islamic faith.”

A prosecutor said the woman is not a Muslim, but prosecutors have also said that would not preclude a hate crime charge.

9/11 Museum Board Member Debra Burlingame ‘Has Espoused Anti-Muslim Views’ (The Daily Beast)

      http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2014/04/29/the-9-11-museum-s-muslim-problem.html

What’s behind the museum’s actions? A theory advanced by Gudaitis is that Debra Burlingame, one of the 11 members of the museum’s program board, which decides content, has espoused anti-Muslim views. … In 2010, she issued a press release denouncing President Obama’s support of the “Ground Zero Mosque.” That place of worship, she claimed, would spread Sharia law across the United States, leading to the “subjugation of all free people, including secular Muslims who come to this country fleeing that medieval ideology, which destroys lives and crushes the human spirit.”

Burlingame also recently wrote a letter attacking the Liam Neeson film Non-Stop because the hijacker in the film is a military combat veteran and “worse, the flight’s quiet hero who comes to the aid of the protagonist, thereby saving the day, is a Muslim doctor.”

Fascists allowed to use ‘Remember Lee Rigby’ slogan on Euro-election ballot papers

The Electoral Commission has been forced to make an embarrassing apology after allowing an extremist party to use a slogan featuring murdered soldier Lee Rigby.

The watchdog had given the green light for Britain First to use the description “Remember Lee Rigby” on voting slips for next month’s European poll.

Commission chair Jenny Watson said: “We are deeply sorry for the offence that has been caused and I have apologised to Lee Rigby’s family. We are particularly sorry at the pain that this will cause them, particularly since polling day falls on the first anniversary of Drummer Rigby’s murder.

“The party description ‘Remember Lee Rigby’ that was registered for use at the European Elections in May by ‘Britain First’ should never have been permitted. We are sorry that the decision we made means that voters in Wales will now see the description on the ballot paper when they vote.

“We have looked carefully at what can be done to stop this from happening and we greatly regret that we have not found a way for the ballot papers to be changed. We will ensure the description is removed from the register for future elections.”

The Commission said it had signed off the slogan for the party to use across the UK. However, Britain First has opted not to deploy it in Scotland, and is not believed to be fielding candidates in England.

It is not clear if any individuals are facing disciplinary action over the error.

Huffington Post, 26 April 2014

According to a report in the Echo, Britain First have been conning pensioners in Southend into donating to their funds by masquerading as a charity campaigning for better conditions for the armed forces. In London, the Daily Mail reports, Britain First have been filmed “harassing an innocent Muslim family” while protesting against Anjem Choudary.

BNP’s proposed election broadcast features vile anti-Muslim animation

BNP’s proposed election broadcast features vile anti-Muslim animation

Vile cartoons of Muslims swilling alcopops and chasing pre-pubescent girls, as well as graphic depictions of Lee Rigby’s murderer, could be broadcast on the BBC and ITV this week, submitted as the BNP’s official party election broadcast.

The party can submit a five-minute broadcast to major channels ahead of the May European elections.

An 10-second clip, leaked to The Huffington Post UK, shows an animation of a girl and the BNP’s bulldog mascot looking at a billboard which says ‘Muslim Grooming Gangs At Large’. She is then confronted with a gang of Muslims in traditional dress, swigging blue WKDs, as a background song to the tune of ‘All Things Bright And Beautiful’ mentions how “there’s some who prey on little girls from takeaways and taxis”.

The girl walks past a burqa-wearing Big Issue seller with a small boy, with a sign saying ‘Sale’ around his neck. She encounters a black silhouette, with blood red hands, a clear reference to Woolwich soldier Lee Rigby’s murderer Michael Adebolajo, as the song references those who “kill with knives and axes”.

The BNP has party election broadcasts scheduled ahead of May’s European Parliament elections. The five-minute broadcast will go out on prime-time BBC and ITV on Tuesday.

Simon Darby, the BNP’s press officer, said the description of the clip matched that the party had submitted to broadcasters, though he said he was angry the video had been leaked ahead of time. “I haven’t had any indication it isn’t going to be broadcast, as is,” he said. “It’s going to get an enormous audience, at peak time. Usually they try and put it in the middle of the night.”

The party has been teasing images of its cartoons on its website, counting down the days until the broadcast. The cartoons on the website match the style of cartoon in the clip seen by HuffPost UK. The BNP website told members: “We’re counting down the days till it’s here… and believe the hype – it’s well worth the wait!”

Nick Lowles, of anti-fascist group Hope Not Hate, told HuffPost UK he would be astonished if the clip were broadcast in its current form. “It is inconceivable this could be broadcast, especially since the BBC have rejected less extreme broadcasts in the past,” he said.

Huffington Post, 26 April 2014

I have to agree with Nick Lowles here. British TV doesn’t exactly have an unblemished record when it comes to promoting Islamophobia, but based on the HuffPo’s description of the BNP’s proposed broadcast it is difficult to believe it will be accepted in this form. Or indeed that the BNP leadership ever imagined it would be. Their purpose presumably is to attract publicity by getting the broadcast censored and then scream about the establishment capitulating to Muslim demands for the suppression of free speech. While this will feed into the prevailing atmosphere of anti-Muslim hysteria, the BNP still won’t get any of their candidates elected.

The twat that wrote this drivel about how nasty the BNP are for daring to say bad things about muslims must be feeling a bit subdued after the (yet another) story about muslim peadophile gangs specifically targeting white kids for their sex slaves and turning to prostitutes – Rotherham – bet the islamaphobes make hay on this one (truth is they have a great deal to make hay about because the evil this religion exports is endless) . . . words fail me about idiots like you, when are you going to wake up to this evil entity in our midst? They come to our country plant bombs in our streets, rape our children, preach hatred against us while raising 7 or 8 kids on our tax money – and then there’s deadheads like the prick who writes this crap – no other religion behaves like this. What do you think would happen if English immigrants did this in their country?

    • Razainc_aka_BigBoss

First of course this a serious tragedy and issue is serious. It should be condemned for heinous act that it is. Of course the story can be covered without demonetization but that is not what will happen in most cases. But it is already linked to Islam from the simple fact that the group claims to be representing it.

The media does not even usually know the basic idea this is a group criminals NOT FUNDAMENTALISTS, since even the most hardcore conservative type Muslims don’t condone this it is a being done by a criminal group. But usually in the media just will resort overly simplistic coverage and Islamophobic pundits will get more fuel for their propaganda.

Here is what will likely not happen a common sense way to help the victims and their families. Helping the victims and their families should be real goal but that is NOT the goal of most media nor of a lot of the self professed Islam experts.

Second I will tell you about the minority prayer which is basically please don’t let be someone from our religious/ethnic group.

A lot of minorities say this in a tragedy for the simple reason that if someone else did it we would not have to worry about the backlash, the politicization of it to take away our rights and using the tragedy to blame and demonize us for the crimes of a few. that why we minorities worry about these tragedies.

    • SarahAB

I like Mindy, but I voted up adc714’s comment because I really don’t think worry about Islamophobia should be the first response to such an incredibly distressing story – a story which doesn’t seem to be getting quite as much coverage as it should, at least not here in the UK. I think the response of most people – Muslim and non-Muslim – has been horror, and I can only think of one response (and that just a tweet) about the issue which could be said to be anti-Muslim. I’m sure there’s plenty more out there, on jihadwatch etc, but I don’t think that should distract others from condemning the kidnapping unreservedly, without first worrying about the Islamophobia factor.

    • Razainc_aka_BigBoss

    • SarahAB

I completely agree that this is all about attention seeking and free speech martyrdom. The ‘official’ broadcast is full of references to the fact it has been censored, and of course people can see the original online (at least that’s my understanding – I haven’t actually seen it). I considered discussing it in a post I wrote on another aspect of censorship but decided that it would be better to ignore it completely.

Greece: Athens mosque blocked again by politics

Parthenon Temple in Athens

Greece: Athens mosque blocked again by politics

Appeal presented against the project, referendum proposed

by Furio Morroni) (ANSAmed) – ATHENS –

The saga of the Athens mosque, the realization of which has been delayed for years and seemed a settled issue last November, continues. Work for the construction of the Muslim temple has been blocked again, this time by political maneuvers and an appeal presented by a university teacher, two navy officials, a cultural association and the ultra-conservative bishop of the Metropolitan Seraphim of Piraeus, all of whom are against the presence of the worshipping place in the Greek capital, the only one in Europe still without a temple for its more than 200,000 residents of Muslim faith. Precisely because of the legal recourse – and the fear that a judge may rule for the complainants – the infrastructure ministry has made it known that it has not yet signed the contract to carry out the 946,000 euro project on which the tender was won five months ago by the consortium composed of four of the largest Hellenic businesses: Aktor, Terna, JP & Avax and Intrakat. The preceding four tenders for assigning construction were not successfully completed since the participating companies withdrew after threats and intimidation received from extremist right-wing groups, like the neo-Nazi Chrysi Avgì (Golden Dawn) party and residents of the Votanikos neighborhood, where the place of worship is supposed to be built, all of whom are contrary to the presence of Muslims in their zone in fear that it could become a gathering place for Islamic extremists or even a “den of terrorists”.

In the meantime, in view of the next local elections, the story of the controversial mosque has also become the subject of political fighting between various Athens mayoral candidates, further complicating the issue. The latest obstacle, if it were necessary, was raised by the Nea Dimokratia (centre-right) candidate Aris Spiliotopoulos, ex-minister of public education, who proposed holding a local referendum on the construction of the Muslim temple, even though he himself voted “yes” (together with another 197 MPs) when parliament approved the project on September 7, 2011. Yesterday morning, on screens of the private television broadcaster Skai, Spiliotopoulos reiterated his position against the construction of the mosque because it could, among other things, attract illegal immigrants “for which there is no more room in Athens”, and its presence “could cause a third world tented city on the sacred hill of the Acropolis”.

He then added that the people of Athens know better than the education ministry – which is responsible for religious affairs – or the mayor where the mosque should be built, and thus it is the capital’s residents who should decide if it can exist in the city. Finally, after having reiterated that his opposition is not based on religious motives, but rather on the opportunity for choosing where to build the structure, he called once more for a referendum. Various observers have interpreted the position taken by the Nea Dimokratia candidate as a wink toward extreme right candidates. Meanwhile, for his own part, the incumbent mayor who is also running again, independent Giorgos Kaminis, emphasized the inconsistency of his adversary, and observed that the behavior of Spiliotopoulos is “contradictory” and not befitting a politician. To reduce costs to a minimum in times of serious crisis, the Greek government has decided that the mosque will not be built from scratch, but made from the renovation of a pre-existing structure. Gardens and prayer areas will be made outside the mosque, which will not have a minaret but will have the capacity to hold 350 worshippers. Four adjacent buildings will be demolished. In their place, nine new structures will be built destined for administrative offices and hygienic services.

The decision to not authorize construction of a minaret did not, however, satisfy those who oppose the project, who do not want the government to spend public money for the creation of a Muslim place of prayer in a country where 96% of the population is Greek-Orthodox. In any case, given developments in the case and renewed opposition to the project, the Muslims of Athens almost certainly will still have to wait a long time before being able to pray in their mosque. (ANSAmed).

Firstly, the ad hominem attacks by calling me “idiot” and “moron” kind of dilute your point.

Secondly, again my comment was the Greeks should be able to decide. I pointed out Saudi as an example of a country that decided not to allow other places of worship. It’s their wish. Similarly, it’s the Greeks people’s choice as well. What’s wrong with them deciding for themselves?

I’m just going to let sit your rant against Europeans and churches (which is humorously contradictory btw)

What about what Christianity has done to other parts of the middle east ? Should we curtail Christianity or blame it for the actions of its followers?

    • Chameleon_X

Great. How about we keep and honor the U.S. Constitution, and us “locals” here get to vote on whether we want to deport anti-American elements such as yourself off of our island? You reject the Constitution, so we would be happy to honor your preference, as well as your desire for a “local” vote.

    • sasboy

The basic rights of individuals to worship and express themselves are not subject to the will of the majority. This controversy reflects extremely poorly on Greece. It is hypocritical how many Greeks never lose an opportunity to criticize their former arch enemy Turkey for supposedly treating its Christian communities badly even though Istanbul and other large Turkish cities have many churches at a time when in Athens Muslim residents have their basic religious freedoms trampled on.

This controversy, as well as the violent tactics of the Golden Dawn do not suggest Greeks are in any position to give homilies to other countries on religious and other human rights.

    • Ali

There’s 60 muslim countries. Almost all have churches. And no, Pakistan does not “demolish as many churches and temples as they can”. Tribal people and their rioting is not related to the 200 million people who live there nor is there any relation to the government.

    • Rizwan

What if local citizens of Dearborn, MI decide that they don’t want a church?

    • Rizwan

Over to human rights activist Pamela Geller for her scholarly opinion.

    • Just_Stopping_By

So, you believe that people’s rights should be dependent on the laws and actions of other countries?

If only the Greeks had ever thought of having citizens each get an equal vote in deciding laws for their own country. Now that would be an idea!

    • Nikos Dandoulakis

If muslims want a mosque, they should build it and support it with their own money.

The return of ‘puppy jihad’

Pamela-Geller-Puppy-Jihad

The return of ‘puppy jihad’

You may remember from last year the laughable story about the Muslim Brotherhood using puppies as weapons by dousing them in petrol, setting them on fire and then throwing them at the Egyptian army. Both Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller reduced themselves to objects of ridicule by taking that nonsense seriously.

Well, apparently this form of urban warfare has caught on elsewhere. Under the headline “Puppy jihad: New levels of cruelty reached by Muslims in Jerusalem”, Geller reports that Palestinians in the West Bank town of Abu Dis have attacked an Israeli police patrol by throwing four puppies at them, resulting in the death of the animals so callously used as missiles.

Quite what military advantage the perpetrators hoped to gain from their action is unclear, as in this case the puppies weren’t even set alight. But according to the report reproduced by Geller, Palestinians now prefer to throw soft, furry animals rather than rocks at Israeli state forces.

Geller happily repeats this story, which originates on a Facebook page rather than the Israeli press, while quoting the same hadiths that Spencer used to explain the first case of “puppy jihad”. In the present case, Spencer has so far failed to endorse the report. Perhaps he reasons that, having made a laughing stock of himself once, there’s no point doing so a second time.

It is dumb, I was on a website that had videos of children they considered Muslim setting fire to a puppy for fun. They seem to think that represents all of Islam. Animal cruelty is everywhere, there was a famous video by “the young Turks” about a poor kitten that was burried from the neck down in concrete by Mormons.

Would it be fair to say those cruel Mormons represent all of Mormonism? Or Christianity for that matter? There was another vid of a European girl drowning puppies, do I say she represents all of Europe?

People who are creul to animals will get punishment from Allah.

Pamela Geller Suggests Banning Muslim Pilots In Response To Malaysia Airlines Disappearance

      http://www.rightwingwatch.org/content/pamela-geller-suggests-banning-muslim-pilots-response-malaysia-airlines-disappearance#sthash.IA1PuIz4.dpuf

Investigators from around the world are still trying to piece together what happened to the Malaysia Airlines flight that disappeared without a trace earlier this month. But not so Pamela Geller.

Geller has been following the story with enthusiasm at her blog, Atlas Shrugged, seizing on every theory that might involve terrorism by Islamist radicals. When it was announced that the holders of two stolen passports on the plane were Iranians, Geller wrote, “an Iranian connection would not surprise me at all. Iran is not afraid of Obama.” When she heard that a Uighur Muslim with flight training was on the flight, she latched onto that.

And now, as investagors turn their attention to the plane’s pilot and copilot, Geller writes that “we are all sitting ducks” unless Muslims are banned from piloting commercial airliners.

Entebbe style hijacking, perhaps? Whatever it is, it’s an evolution in air travel terror.

The Captain disabled the signaling system on the missing Malaysia Airlines jet before he spoke to Malaysian air traffic control, without hinting at any trouble.

How is the TSA going to screen for this? No Muslim pilots? That’s never going to happen. So we are all sitting ducks until the next time.

Public prosecutor challenged to act on Wilders’ Moroccan comments

Geert-Wilders-extremist

We’ve highlighted Wilders blatant racism in the past, here he is, at it again.:

Public prosecutor challenged to act on Wilders’ Moroccan comments

Moroccan organisations in the Netherlands said they will make a formal complaint against the public prosecution department if it does not take action over Geert Wilders’s latest anti-Moroccan statements.

The chairman of the national Moroccan council LBM said on Saturday the “the ball is now in the department’s court”. Mohamed Rabbae, a former MP for the left-wing green party GroenLinks, said: “We will wait until Monday to see if the department put its own policy [to protect citizens against discrimination] into action.”

Wilders has stated several times in recent days there should be fewer Moroccans in the Netherlands. Several commentators have noted this is the first time he has referred to a nationality, rather than “Muslims” or “Moroccan criminals”.

“Wilders has crossed his own boundary,” the Volkskrant said in an analysis. “Until now, Wilders has always managed to balance on the dividing line between what is and is not discrimination in the eyes of the law.”

Speaking during campaigning for the local elections in Almere on Saturday, Wilders said: “I can’t formulate it any differently. Less immigration, less ‘Islamisation’ and fewer Moroccans.”

His comments have also been condemned by prime minister Mark Rutte, who nevertheless did not rule out the VVD forming a local government coalition in Almere or The Hague with the PVV. Wilders party is only fielding candidates in the two cities and may become the biggest party in both.

Meanwhile, Wilders has also said he plans to take legal action against everyone who says he is like Hitler, broadcaster Omroep West reported. Earlier this week, a local Labour campaign leader compared the PVV politician with Hitler but withdrew the comments on Friday. Wilders told the broadcaster he believed in freedom of speech. “But I have had enough of abject, sick-making comparisons with Hitler,” Wilders said. “They are a serious insult to the PVV, PVV politicians and our voters.”

Various commentators have pointed out that in the past Wilders has said the Koran as a book is “worse than Mijn Kampf’” and has compared the prophet Mohammed with Hitler.

In 2011, Wilders was found not guilty of charges of inciting hatred and discrimination against Muslims and non-westerm immigrants by judges in Amsterdam. The court ruled that some of Wilders’ statements were insulting, shocking and on the edge of legal acceptibility, but that they were made in the broad context of a political and social debate on the multi-cultural society.

It is absolutely ironic the hypocracy of some people. Some are for freedoms only when it applies to them. Some people say they are in favor of freedom of speech, but only if it doesn’t upset me. Or they are for freedom of religion as long as it is monotheistic or not pagan. There are even so-called Americans who are against the proposed statue of Satan being on the courthouse grounds in Oklahoma. “Paranoia is a thought process believed to be heavily influenced by anxiety or fear, often to the point of irrationality and delusion. Paranoid thinking typically includes persecutory beliefs, or beliefs of conspiracy concerning a perceived threat towards oneself (e.g. “Everyone is out to get me”).”

“Making false accusations and the general distrust of others also frequently accompany paranoia. For example, an incident most people would view as an accident or coincidence, a paranoid person might believe was intentional.”

One of the most persistent myths about the Netherlands is that it is a bastion of racial tolerance. In reality, the Dutch have a history of race baiting and religious intolerance in their political culture and the brutality of their colonization of South East Asia is a matter of historical record. Contemporary Dutch racism against immigrant newcomers is exemplified by, but not restricted to Wilder’s chilling threats and incitement against immigrants, mostly Muslims. Most countries in Europe have become less tolerant towards intolerance, tolerance towards intolerance is a hallmark of the politics of a country mistakenly depicted as tolerant.

The anti-fascist publication Expo has reported that Kamil Ryba, head of the EDL’s sister organisation the Swedish Defence League, has been sentenced to six months in prison for threatening the staff at GT, the Göteborg edition of the Swedish daily Expressen.

Ryba turned up at the GT offices last December to protest against Expressen publishing the names of people who had anonymously incited racial hatred. He threw an egg and said he would come back with a knife next time. Ryba subsequently returned and left a package containing a knife and a copy of the Qur’an, which was addressed to the editors of Expressen and GT. The package was seen as a possible bomb threat and GT staff were forced to evacuate the building.

Ryba pleaded not guilty. According to GT, he claimed that by including a knife with the Qur’an he intended to convey that Islam is a violent ideology, not a religion. However, he was convicted of the offence of violating civil liberty, on the grounds that he had made threats that endangered freedom of expression. Ryba’s lawyer stated that he will appeal against the verdict.

I think it has to do with the “Skinhead” subculture.

“A skinhead is a member of a subculture that originated among working class youths in London, England in the 1960s and then soon spread to other parts of the United Kingdom, and later to other countries around the world. Named for their close-cropped or shaven heads, the first skinheads were greatly influenced by West Indian (specifically Jamaican) rude boys and British mods, in terms of fashion, music and lifestyle.[1] Originally, the skinhead subculture was mainly based on those elements, not politics or race, in fact many British Skinheads during the 1960s were Black.”[sic]

Wilders helps to launch anti-Islam party in Australia

An anti-Islam party based on the hardline views of Dutch politician Geert Wilders plans to field candidates at the next federal election, raising fears among moderate Muslims of a rise in extremism.

Mr Wilders, an influential far-right figure expected to shape the results of this year’s European elections, told followers in a video message that the Australian Liberty Alliance was being formed to “offer civil minded Australians fresh political vision and better policies”. Policies advocated by Wilders’ Party for Freedom include deporting immigrants convicted of a crime and stopping all immigration from Islamic countries.

“Many of you are disappointed by current political parties and have had enough of politicians who sell our Western civilisation,” Mr Wilders said in his video. “Like you, good people in Europe, America, Canada have had enough of politicians who don’t share our values and foolishly declare all cultures are equal, and who lack the courage to speak the truth and say that Islam is the biggest threat to freedom today.”

Australian Liberty Alliance was registered as a not-for-profit business last month by Debbie Robinson, the president of the Q Society, an anti-Islam think tank that was responsible for bringing Mr Wilders to Australia last year. The party will be headquartered in Western Australia and is expected to be launched by Mr Wilders early next year. It is yet to be registered as a political party with the Australian Electoral Commission. Ms Robinson said she intended to stand as a candidate.

Islamic Friendship Association of Australia spokesman Keysar Trad urged Muslims to ignore the fledgling party, warning it would “galvanise hardliners” on both sides of the debate. “The extremists within our community love to see something like this,” Mr Trad said. “All this does is create further division.”

Human Rights Commissioner Tim Wilson said despite Australia’s implied constitutional protection of political speech, any party had a responsibility not to “inflame prejudice”. “Australia had Hansonism and saw it for its shallowness and flaws, and I think people will see exactly the same thing with Wilders,” Mr Wilson said.

Q Society spokesman Andrew Horwood said the party would have no formal relationship with either the Q Society or Mr Wilders. He said the party would be secular, conservative and campaign openly against Islam. “Australia is a different country to The Netherlands but we will be absolutely fearless in saying we don’t believe Islam is good for this country,” Mr Horwood said.

If you actually thought this community was a tenth as violent as you accuse it of being, you wouldn’t be here throwing tripe, but hiding under your bed in a puddle of your own urine.

Pakistan’s present pathetic condition is due to the backstabbing and subservience of the bootlickers and brown sahibs like musharraf and co. If it wasn’t for that filth Pakistan could be just as great as Iran and Malaysia.

      Good one!

Nothing you’ve claimed has been proven at all. What possessed you to think you can even “debate”? It’s obvious your comments get deleted is because you’re a worthless Hindu extremist fecal fascist troll. No respectable website has an obligation to post the comments of scum like you who support rape. Then again, you’re from India where rape in part of the national “culture” along with public urination and defecation. Slither back to the Hindutva latrine you were conceived in, gutter trash.

      Good riddance to you?

    • abhi098

Respect is earned and not by demand. Those who censor truth shouldn’t throw stones on others.

EDL member charged with terrorism offences is Michael Piggin

A judge has lifted an order banning the naming of an 18-year-old man charged with terror offences.

Michael Piggin, of Loughborough, is accused of possession of items for the purpose of terrorism, including partially-constructed pipe bombs. He is also charged with possessing a document containing information likely to be useful for a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism.

Mr Piggin denies the two charges and his trial is due to begin on Tuesday.

Mr Piggin is alleged to have possessed nine partially-assembled petrol bombs, firework powder, partially-constructed improvised explosive devices, a crossbow, a variety of air rifles, a gas mask and stab proof vest. He is also charged with having a notebook containing information about the planning of attacks and the construction of explosive devices.

Mr Piggin, whose name could not previously be reported owing to his age, is due to stand trial at the Old Bailey in London.

A bit like the new Atheists who enjoy talking about how they’re so intelligent and analytical but in reality they’re probably just some fat fools trying to reach for their pint of Guinness.
