Rev. Deacon Robert Spencer Thinks Garibaldi is Nathan Lean

Spencer resembles someone here.

by Garibaldi

Hate group leader, Far-right Catholic fanatic and anti-Muslim Crusader/terrorist-inspirer, Rev. Deacon Robert Spencer of Our Lady of the Cedars Church, a full-time paid shill for racist David Horowitz has been pretty sore that I exposed the fact he is an ordained deacon. The only person that he should be upset at however is himself, he’s the one who irresponsibly left an internet trail that could easily be found by anyone with basic google searching abilities.

It is understandable why Rev. Deacon Spencer, who claims to be an objective “reporter” on so-called “Islamic violence” was so upset, any remaining veneer of “objectivity” and feigned concern for “freedom” was permanently abolished; once again Robert Spencer’s sectarianism was exposed through his own words and deeds.

This point is buttressed in a post yesterday by Rev. Deacon Spencer in FrontPageMagRag, it is the first post by Rev. Spencer on new Pope Francis I. What does the good Deacon have to say? Well, he slams the Second Vatican council’s positive statements regarding Islam as reflecting “the outlook of a vanished age,” equal in its irrelevance as statements by the likes of Pope Benedict XIV of the 18th century and Pope Callixtus III of the 15th century. (By the way, Rev. Spencer is opposed to Vatican II for more reasons than just statements regarding Islam).

Bizarrely, Spencer still cites the two Popes quite approvingly, the hostility they had towards Islam and Muslims is strikingly evident in two quotes Spencer reproduces,

…Pope Benedict XIV, in 1754, reaffirmed an earlier prohibition on Albanian Catholics giving their children “Turkish or Mohammedan names” in baptism by pointing out that not even Protestants or Orthodox were stooping so low: “None of the schismatics and heretics has been rash enough to take a Mohammedan name, and unless your justice abounds more than theirs, you shall not enter the kingdom of God.” Pope Callixtus III, in a somewhat similar spirit, in 1455 vowed to “exalt the true Faith, and to extirpate the diabolical sect of the reprobate and faithless Mahomet in the East.”

Spencer absurdly believes the Vatican II reforms are in parity with quotes about “extirpating” Islam. Look up “Extirpate” in the dictionary, it still means “to root out and destroy completely.”

It appears Rev. Deacon Robert Spencer is setting himself up for a lifetime of disappointment. Pope Francis I will not be the kind of fanatical anti-Islam/Muslims-rolling-back-Vatican-II-type-pope that Spencer wants him to be. After all, the new pope is named after St. Francis of Assisi whose two chief concerns were to convert people to Christianity and to help the poor.

In fact, St. Francis came to oppose the Crusades (read: The Saint and the Sultan by Paul Moses) which Rev. Deacon Robert Spencer falls all over himself to defend, as he loves to remind us of the Crusader slogan, God wills it!

The story goes that St. Francis’ parents wanted him to go out on the Crusade so that he could be knighted.

He later set out for the Crusades in Northern Africa, but while on his way to join up with his batallion he heard a voice that asked him where he was going.

Francis responded “to the Crusades” and the voice asked him “why he served the squire instead of the Master.” The voice told him to return to Assisi where he would be told what to do. Later, after much prayer and penance, Francis was praying at a small chapel outside of Assisi, San Damiano and he thought he heard a voice that came from the crucifix. The voice said, “Francis, go repair my Church, can’t you see that it’s falling into ruins.”

The new Pope Francis I will focus on repairing the Catholic Church which is struggling in many ways and will not focus on breeding Crusader-esque civilizational conflict.

Rev. Deacon Spencer thinks I am Aslan Media editor Nathan Lean, I reveal my true identity

Rev. Deacon Robert Spencer’s irrelevance both to Catholicism and scholarship on Islam is only matched by his delusional indulgence in conspiracy theory. Unable and unwilling to respond to numerous Loonwatch rebuttals of his faulty pseudo-scholarship and “police blotter reporting,” and a very long outstanding fear to debate Danios has now given way to Spencer claiming to have uncovered my identity–unbeknownst to me I am actually supposed to be Aslan Media editor Nathan Lean!

What is Rev. Spencer’s smoking gun? A cross-post from the hate site Logan’s Warning claiming “evidence” that I, Garibaldi, am Nathan Lean. Recall the only time we’ve mentioned Logan’s Warning, a post titled, Amusing Islamophobia Blog Wars: Logan’s Warning vs. Brigitte Gabriel, in which Christopher Logan attacked Brigitte Gabriel for even hinting that there might be such a thing as a “moderate Muslim.” The heresy! Logan’s website is replete with an abundance of commenters who call for Crusading violence against Muslims and racism against Arabs, as was shown in screenshots in my post.

So it’s no surprise that Spencer would cross-post from Logan’s Warning, as we know “birds of a feather flock together.” It is also unsurprising that Spencer, with a track record for weak scholarship would be so gullibly convinced by Christopher Logan’s “evidence.”

Logan’s “evidence”:

Evidence 1: Recently in writing about Mr. Spencer, Garibaldi wrote this in a comment on his own article about Spencer’s private life:

GaribaldiOfLoonwatch Mod Leftwing_Muslim_Alliance • 13 days ago

He is not celibate, he’s married. In the course of digging on the internet, I also learned the name of his wife and children, though that isn’t really germane to the discussion so I won’t advertise it.

Who else has dug on the Internet and found the names of Mr. Spencer’s wife and children? Nathan Lean. Spencer has written of Lean: Nigeria Jihadists threaten country’s top spies by publishing their home addresses and names of family

Four months after that, he sent Mr. Spencer an email calling him a “dumb fuck” and adding “But, having a look at this, I kind of pity you,” which was followed by a link containing a photo of a woman in the same city. The woman has the same surname Spencer; apparently Lean thought she was his wife.

Spencer apparently thinks this is evidence. Anyone who has access to google can find out the names of Rev. Deacon Spencer’s family, it’s all over the internet. I thought Spencer was supposed to be in mortal fear for his life? If so he’s doing a poor job of covering up the identities of his family and place of residence. The fact is we have had people who’ve wanted to share information regarding his personal life and whereabouts since 2010.

One commenter on Spencerwatch named “Abdullah” wrote on the site in 2010 saying:

Abdullah says:

I have all the information on Spencer, his address, real date of birth, and information on his family. I want nothing more than to share it, please e-mail me.

We responded to Abdullah by letting him know that we were not interested in Spencer’s personal information:

admin says:

Abdullah,

That will be unnecessary. We have no interest in Spencer’s private life. We are only interested in exposing the shallow, deceptive, and bigoted nature of his anti-Muslim work.

– SW Admin

My comment is consistent with our long-held position that our only interest is rebutting and exposing Rev. Deacon Robert Spencer’s faulty arguments, lies, hate, deception and distortions, we can care less about Spencer’s family.

Evidence 2:
Garibaldi wrote of Mr. Spencer in a comment:

But the shaggy walrus beard and so forth indicates its him.

Reza Aslan said to Mr. Spencer: The Incredilbe Reza Aslan automated insult generator

I told you. I’m into women not walruses.

Nathan Lean works for Aslan.

Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. I freely admit here and now that I actually picked up the walrus reference from my interview with Reza Aslan, it still gives me a chuckle!

Evidence 3: Garibaldi interviewed Aslan for Loonwatch. Most of the interview was made up of nasty ad hominem attacks on Mr. Spencer: https://www.loonwatch.com/2011/11/exclusive-loonwatch-interview-with-reza-aslan/

I’ve also interviewed Haroon Moghul. Does that mean I’am Haroon Moghul as well? And why am I Nathan Lean and not Reza Aslan? Or maybe I am all three-in-one, like a super stealth Islamist-Leftist trinity?

Evidence 4: Jonathan Schanzer wrote a scathing review of Lean’s book for the Wall Street Journal. Loonwatch published a petulant and defensive response piece viciously attacking Schanzer. Who wrote it? Garibaldi. https://www.loonwatch.com/2013/01/bush-era-neo-con-schmuck-jonathan-schanzer-shills-for-nasty-islamophobia-movement/

Yes, Schanzer did get the vicious Garibaldi treatment, but that was more so because he’s a Bush era, warmongering neo-Con schmuck who wrote an Islamophobia-denial piece in the mainstream Wall Street Journal that sought to exonerate war criminals like his former boss George W. Bush and Islamophobe pals such as Daniel Pipes and the useful idiot Zuhdi Jasser. I fail to see how this can be described as evidence and not more appropriately as “worthless conjecture 4.”

Evidence 5: Nathan Lean has frequently called for opponents of jihad terror to be denied free speech rights:

Editor-in-Chief of moderate Aslan media endorses cyber terrorism

Nathan Lean is a Thug

Garibaldi wrote a piece at Loonwatch celebrating the vandalism of AFDI’s anti-jihad ads: https://www.loonwatch.com/2012/09/mona-el-tahawy-and-spray-painting-pamela-gellers-hate-ads/

Reza Aslan also called for that vandalism: Reza Aslan Calls for fascist vandalism of AFDI pro-freedom ads

Loonwatch is actually consistent in its opposition to hacking, we ourselves have been victim to vile hatemongering “counterjihad” hackers. As for my article it actually did not celebrate Mona Eltahawy’s protest of the racist AFDI/SIOA hate ads. In fact I was critical of her, writing,

Mona’s method of protest was therefore ineffective, aesthetically unappealing and not the best expression of street art. It is unclear if Mona was going to spraypaint a message before her confrontation with Hall, but using a hot pink spraypaint can to completely erase or cover the hate ad, which is what she was doing, is a bad way to register such a protest. It is poorly planned, poorly executed and at the end of the day strays from the goal of highlighting the most important aspect of such a protest: the message.

I happily admit however that I am not really moved to condemn any protest against the racist AFDI/SIOA hate ads. Just as I wouldn’t condemn protests against ads describing Native Americans as “savages,” or Blacks as “N—–s.”

Interestingly, this most recent foray into conspiracy theory by Rev. Deacon Spencer wasn’t even convincing to Spencer’s most ardent fans. Kinana of Khaybar, in what could be the most understated comment on JihadWatch ever wrote,

This is entertaining, but to me does not add up to sufficient evidence that Nathan Lean is Garibaldi.

One also has to wonder if Logan and Spencer even thought about asking themselves why Nathan Lean, who has been speaking, writing and publishing publicly for quite some time would decide he needed to be anonymous? He is already calling out Spencer, Geller and other Islamophobes under his own name.

As for my real identity…

I am actually….

<drum roll>….

the second love child of Malcolm X and Stanley Ann Dunham, and my name is Barack Hasan Shabazz!

There you go, the secret is finally out! Thanks a lot Spencer!

Caught on tape: California University Lecturer Smears Student Activists as anti-Semites with Ties To Terrorists

images

Is it a coincidence that Rossman-Benjamin gave her speech smearing student activists as being “anti-Semites with ties to terrorists” at Ahavath Torah Congregation, a synagogue led by the Islamophobic Rabbi Jonathan Hausman? The same synagogue has given a platform to the wild eyed bigot Pamela Geller, the anti-Muslim neo-Fascist Dutch politician Geert Wilders, as well as Wafa Sultan, who has called for “nuking and crushing” Muslims.

Caught on tape: California university lecturer smears student activists as anti-Semites with ties to terrorists

by Alex Kane (MondoWeiss)

Student activists in California have exposed inflammatory remarks made by a university lecturer who is the head of an Israel lobby group that tries to pressure college administrations and state officials into investigating what the lecturer calls anti-Semitism. Activists have started a petition calling on the University of California President to condemn the statements made last year by Tammi Rossman-Benjamin, a Hebrew lecturer at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC). The remarks were only recently publicized after students discovered them through a YouTube video of Rossman-Benjamin’s remarks.

Last June, Rossman-Benjamin gave a presentation on what she calls “campus anti-Semitism” at the Ahavath Torah Congregation in Stoughton, Massachusetts. She unleashed vitriolic comments smearing student activists who work for Palestinian rights as anti-Semites with ties to terrorist organizations, though she did not back up her statements with evidence. Rossman-Benjamin is the head of the AMCHA Initiative, a Zionist pressure group that targets professors and student groups for alleged anti-Semitism, though the actions AMCHA goes after are activism for Palestinian rights.

“They are generally motivated by very strong religious and political conditions–they have a fire in their belly. They come to the university, many of them are foreign students, who come from cultures and countries where anti-Semitism is how they think about the world,” said Rossman-Benjamin, referring to students involved with the Muslim Students Association and Students for Justice in Palestine. “These student groups often have strong ties to international campaigns to demonize and delegitimize Israel as well as to organizations like the Muslim Brotherhood…[They] have ties to terrorist organizations.” Later in her speech, Rossman-Benjamin also claims to have met with state legislators in California.

In response to Rossman-Benjamin’s remarks, activists from UCSC Committee for Justice in Palestine have started a petition that has so far garnered over 850 signatures. They are calling on the University of California President to “take a clear stand against hate speech directed at marginalized communities, and distance itself from extremists like Tammi Benjamin and the Amcha Initiative that work to smear and silence student human rights campaigners.”

So far, the University of California President’s Office has stayed silent. In an e-mail response to an inquiry from Mondoweiss, Shelly Meron, a media specialist with the president’s office, wrote: “We have no comment on this.”

Rossman-Benjamin did not return an e-mail and a phone message for comment on this story by the time of publication.

The petition from the UCSC Committee for Justice in Palestine also states that Rossman-Benjamin’s remarks “reflect the worst stereotypes and slurs leveled at Arab and Muslim communities in the post-9/11 era. They have absolutely no place in a university environment and it is completely unacceptable for a University of California lecturer to be making them, especially about students.”

Multiple students have also filed formal complaints with the University of Santa Cruz’s Hate/Bias Response Team. A school official told one student activist who preferred to go unnamed that they will look into the complaint and may investigate it and refer it to higher offices and take corrective action if appropriate.

Rachel Roberts, civil rights coordinator for the Council on American Islamic Relations in San Francisco, condemned the statements from the Hebrew lecturer in an interview.

“Her comments are an example of the ways in which Muslim students and Arab students and students organizing for Palestine are disparaged in a way that’s completely unfair to them. I personally don’t see how any reasonable individual could possibly believe that our students have ties to terrorist organizations overseas,” she said. “It’s ridiculous, it’s an attempt to sow fear.” Roberts’ organization has been working in coalition with other social justice groups to fight back against smears from legislators and others in California that conflate solidarity with Palestinians with anti-Semitism.

Other people who signed the petition, including alumni and former professors from the UC system, have echoed the student activists’ condemnation of Rossman-Benjamin. “I have experienced firsthand the intimidation tactics and attempts to silence dissent on Israel on the UCSC campus,” wrote Lisa Nessan, who described herself as a “Jewish UCSC alumna (’00) and a former Santa Cruz Hillel Foundation employee.”

Nessan went on to write that “Tammi Benjamin’s racist and islamophobic remarks are the antithesis of the type of tolerance and diversity that is expected on a University of California campus.” Robert Weil, who described himself as a “retired Visiting Assistant Professor, Lecturer and Union Organizer on the UC Santa Cruz campus,” wrote that he “can attest directly to the chilling effect that Tammi Rossman-Benjamin has had on those of us who hold critical views of Israeli policies and who support the struggle of the Palestinian people. She is a disgrace and a threat to the spirit of free academic debate and the right of all citizens–on and off campus–to express their ideas without intimidation.”

The activists’ petition–and the video that sparked it–shines a light on the tactics of Rossman-Benjamin. Through her organization, the AMCHA Initative, Rossman-Benjamin has targeted professors who show solidarity with Palestinians and who support the boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) call. Her modus operandi is to conflate support for Palestinian human rights and strong criticism of Israel with anti-Semitism.

As Mondoweiss has reported, Rossman-Benjamin was behind a 2011 federal complaint against the University of California at Santa Cruz. The complaint charged that the university ignored concerns that a hostile environment for Jewish students was being created on campus due to criticism of Israel. The U.S. Department of Education took up the Title VI complaint, and continues to investigate, according to the student activists’ petition. Rossman-Benjamin also unsuccessfully tried to get the California State University system to distance itself from a tour on campuses that featured Israeli professor Ilan Pappe. Her attempts to get state officials to investigate a professor who supports the BDS call also failed.

Still, activists say the remarks from a lecturer employed by the University of California is a glaring example of a hostile climate on campus when it comes to organizing for Palestinian rights. Last year, the California state legislature passed a bill that conflated activism and the BDS movement with anti-Semitism and also claimed that student activists had ties to terrorist organizations–similar rhetoric to what Rossman-Benjamin used at her Massachusetts appearance. That state legislation also applauded the release of a “campus climate” report on Jewish students in California that has been criticized for suggesting things that would impose restrictions on Palestine solidarity activism.

JihadWatch Zombie Eric Allen Bell Returns and Adds Antisemitism to the Islamophobia

The “Glazov gangbangers”

by Garibaldi

Eric Allen Bell (aka Eric Edborg), who has been mostly silent over the past few months, (no doubt taking a “sabbatical” from his self-proclaimed “jihad against jihad” again), returned to the looniverse of hatemongering and kooky conspiracy theories.

This time Bell is relishing in antisemitism and putting forward ideas picked straight out of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion.

Bell got into it with some of his assumedly now “former” Facebook followers. Bell tells “Clark Banner” that he is just speaking truth to power, exposing the social taboo surrounding “Jewish control of banking and media,”

EAB jew conspiracy #1

Bell clearly doesn’t know what conspiracy theories are either, they are not simply “theories without evidence.” What he is referring to is just one category of the obvious phony and fake conspiracies that exist. Usually conspiracy theories are based on some evidence, though such evidence varies in degree of reliability, factualness and the way it is framed and contextualized to create a narrative.

Bell also believes the Oscars are part of a Jewish supremacist conspiracy,

EAB jew conspiracy #3

“Erick Morgan” used to “look up to” the old bigot Eric Allen Bell when he railed against Muslims being intellectually and genetically inferior and called for the nuking of Muslim holy places but now he finds Bell repulsive:

EAB jew conspiracy #4

This protege of Rev. Deacon Robert Spencer has exposed himself to have some very kooky and racist beliefs not only about people of Muslim background and the religion of Islam but also about Jews and Judaism. Will we hear swift condemnations from Rev. Deacon Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller who hailed Bell as a former “liberal” who saw the light of “Counterjihad?” Aren’t they embarrassed and ashamed of supporting and allying with someone who supports this vile antisemitic nonsense?

Don’t hold your breathe. They will likely continue their strategy of pretending such views aren’t held by their friend.

What if she does love, respect, or admire Jews? What are you basing your doubts on? The fact that she is a Muslim? Also, in some languages the term Hebrews is used in place of the word Jews. Sometimes it is considered derogatory but I am pretty sure Nur didn’t know that (I didn’t know that myself until this thread made me search it up).

      ‘Israel-bashing’ does not equal ‘Jew-bashing’.

Excellent point, Garibaldi! Conflating attacks on Israel and some kind of anti-Semitism is like conflating attacks on a Muslim-majority nation and some kind of Islamophobia.

    • It would probably blow his mind that some of us not only support a single state solution, but that Israeli policy we might argue over does not inherently make us supporters of the authoritarian shit heads that rule nations around the country in question.

New Zealand First MP: Ban Muslims From Flights

NZ First MP: Ban Muslims from flights

By Kurt Bayer KurtBayerAPNZ , Matthew Theunissen

New Zealand First MP Richard Prosser has spoken out in defence of his “Wogistan” rant which has been slammed as racist by Muslim leaders and politicians.

In a column for Investigate Magazine, the Waimakariri list MP suggested young Muslims shouldn’t be allowed to travel on Western airlines because ‘most terrorists are Muslims”.

He accepted that most Muslims are not terrorists, but said it’s “equally undeniable” that “most terrorists are Muslims”.

“If you are a young male, aged between say about 19 and about 35, and you’re a Muslim, or you look like a Muslim, or you come from a Muslim country, then you are not welcome to travel on any of the West’s airlines,” he wrote.

Prime Minister John Key was “appalled” by the comments, while the New Zealand Muslim Association called them “senseless”.

But in an interview with Newstalk ZB’s political editor Barry Soper, Mr Prosser stood by his controversial stance.

He denied that the use of “Wogistan” was racist, citing mentions of it being a “mythical place”, which could even have been “a real place”.

“Look, people can read things into it if they want,” he said.

“I have a particular style in my Investigate column which is, um, reasonably blunt, and I speak a lot of things that other people are talking about but won’t necessarily say.

“I don’t think it’s anything derogatory particularly, I don’t have any real time for the worst extreme elements of Islam who treat women in a poor fashion. So, I certainly think it’s appropriate for me to make those comments.”

Asked if he was tarring all young male Muslims with the same brush, Mr Prosser said it was a profiling policy that has made Israeli airline El Al “one of the safest airlines in the world”.

NZ First Leader Winston Peters initially said there was “an element of truth’ to what Mr Prosser wrote but that his MP had failed to balance his attack by acknowledging that the majority of Muslims were peaceful and law abiding.

In a subsequent statement, Mr Peters said Mr Prosser had “wrongfully impugned millions of law-abiding, peaceful Muslims” and the article did not represent the views of NZ First.

Mr Prosser said Mr Peters doesn’t vet his columns, which he’s been writing in Investigate for more than a decade, claiming they were separate from his MP duties and party policy.

He believed it was appropriate for him as an MP to make his views heard, saying: “This is what we are here for. We are here to represent and speak about the issues and concerns that people have.”

Mana Party leader Hone Harawira said Mr Prosser’s comments were racist, and without basis in fact.

“It’s kinda like saying that no 19- to 35-year-old white guys should be allowed to go anywhere because they cause so many wars around the world.”

Asked whether the NZ First MP should have kept his comments to himself, Mr Harawira said: “It’s best that they’re actually expressed openly because when people hold views as extreme as that, it’s best that we hear them.”

Act Party leader John Banks said the comments were “crazy” and “bizarre”, while Labour Leader David Shearer believed they could hurt New Zealand’s reputation in other countries.

In his article, Mr Prosser also said: “I will not stand by while [his daughters’] rights and freedoms of other New Zealanders and Westerners, are denigrated by a sorry pack of misogynist troglodytes from Wogistan.”

The 9/11 hijackers were Muslims, as were the London “tube bombers”, Mr Prosser said, along with the Taleban and al-Qaida.

“There is a pattern here, I promise you,” he wrote. “These are angry, young Muslim men who hate the West and want to destroy it.

“They attack us, and our institutions and infrastructures, and our way of life, and our values and beliefs and precepts, because we are not like them, and for no other reason.”

Prosser, 45, has previously made no apology for the strength of the controversial ideas he has been pushing for almost 10 years.

In 2011, he called for the burqa to be banned, while he also wanted bank tellers, dairy owners and taxi drivers to be armed.

Exclusive: Reverend Deacon Robert Spencer of Our Lady of the Cedars Church

robert_spencer_exposed (1)

by Garibaldi

For quite some time it has been known that Robert Spencer, according to his own testimony, is a Catholic of the Maronite Melkite tradition. However what has not been discussed has been the extent of his involvement with the Church. Spencer attempts to portray himself as a “freedom fighter” (nothing could be further from the truth), fighting “Islamization” and the “savage” Muslims. Presenting himself as an “objective” scholar (though he has no qualifications when it comes to Islam) and a blogger while downplaying his other prominent roles in life.

In light of the recent and welcomed news that the Catholic Diocese of Worcester disinvited Spencer from a speaking engagement at an upcoming Men’s Conference, it is clearer why he was invited in the first place: he is an active Catholic deacon.

In a 2002 article by Shawne K. Wickham, a certain Robert Spenser (his name is spelled wrongly) is cited as studying to become a Melkite deacon. Spen(s)er discusses the idea of “bringing heaven to earth,”

Robert Spenser, who is studying to be a Melkite deacon, recalls an old story of the emissaries who were sent out into the world by the Slavic king to investigate various religions, and happened upon a Byzantine church service in Constantinople. “We didn’t know if we were on heaven or on earth,” they would report back.

“I think the idea of bringing heaven to earth, and having a taste of heaven on earth is one of the reasons people come here,” Spenser said.

In 2002 Spencer (this time with his name spelled properly) is listed as “Associate director of Educational Services” at Our Lady of the Cedars Church:

Associate to the Director of Educational Services – Robert Spencer of Manchester, NH. Robert Spencer is in the Diaconal Formation Program and has been active in the home-school movement.

A 2006 discussion thread titled “Deacon Robert Spencer on C-Span tonight” on the Byzantine Forum leaves no doubt that Deacon Robert Spencer and JihadWatch Robert Spencer are one and the same.

A 2011 official Melkite Greek Church directory lists Spencer as “Rev. Deacon Robert Spencer”

Spencer, Deacon Robert Our Lady of the Cedars E-mail : robtspencer@myfairpoint.net

In 2011, Spencer also wrote an article for Crisis Magazine, a Catholic publication on his Church titled “We are Non-Roman Catholics.

A 2012 PDF document from Our Lady of the Cedars lists Spencer’s ordination at the top of the masthead.

This information also provides further insight into the reasoning behind Spencer’s anti-Muslim/Islam hate activism. What has been known for quite some time through Robert Spencer’s own statements and declarations (such as his 2003 interview with the Washington Times and his “debate” with his former college Professor Peter Kreeft) is that his Crusade against Islam and Muslims is colored by an extremist Christian supremacist theology that views Islam and Muslims as the ultimate existential threats to “Christendom.”

Additionally, and this is perhaps the real question, it speaks volumes about the Our Lady of the Cedars Church. Why would they have someone ordained who is designated as a hate group leader? Why would they have someone in their ordained clergy who makes a living telling people that Muslims are violent criminals bent on destroying the West?

Is this what the Catholic church is all about? I happen to believe it is not, especially considering that surveys of Catholic Americans show that the majority have positive views of Islam and Muslims. The fact that Spencer is out of step with mainstream Catholicism is also underscored by the fact that the National Catholic Reporter applauded the cancellation of his speech by the Worcester diocese.

If anyone should understand what it feels like to be discriminated against based on religion, it is Catholics. They have faced a history of prejudice in the United States, thus it is odd that such a hostile, and at the least, very controversial figure would assume a leadership role in their church.

And presumably, a portion of his income from his anti-Muslim rants goes to the church. There is one link that shows him as a “platinum” donator to a church function, and another one where he gives a “generous” gift to have a Pantocrator icon installed in the church.

Lastly, we must call out Deacon Spencer’s hypocrisy: In the Melkite tradition, women are not allowed to enter the Holy Place, where the altar stands, and girls are not allowed as altar servers. But of course Spencer rails about discrimination against women in Islam yet he doesn’t notice such blatant discrimination happening in his own tradition. A case no doubt of,

Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye. (Matthew 7:5)

Update II: Barth’s Notes: Robert Spencer and the Melkite Greek Catholic Church (h/t: Jai Singh)

Spencer here follows the example of the late Paul Weyrich, whom he regarded as a mentor-figure, although Spencer’s Melkite affiliation also reflects his personal circumstances: he is of Greek Orthodox heritage (family displaced from Turkey) and married to a Catholic, and so a form of Catholicism that follows an Orthodox style has obvious attractions.

Some of Spencer’s books include the name of the priest of his church among the acknowledgements, although the church itself does not appear to promote the kind of anti-Islam polemicising for which Spencer is notorious. In 2006 Spencer promoted a report about a speech given by then-US Melkite leader Archbishop Cyril Salim Bustros, in which Bustros made criticisms of Islam; however, Bustros did not resort to the kind of rabble-rousing rhetoric and sloppiness that are Spencer’s hallmarks.

Wrong. In the Eastern Churches, a married man may become a deacon or priest, but cannot marry after ordination.

    • Jack

In the Orthodox Christian tradition, followed by the Byzantine Catholic Churches, which include the Melkites, a deacon is addressed as Father Deacon Firstname.

In the same way, a monk, whether in orders or not, is Father Firstname, and a nun is Mother (not Sister) Firstname.

Does the Qur’an Say Jews Are “Apes and Pigs”?

Free_Qurans

by Inconnu and Garibaldi

The following article deals specifically with the claim that the Quran teaches that Jews are “apes and pigs.” There is an important fuller discussion to be had on the relationship between Islam and Judaism and Muslims and Jews, a history which has seen its fair share of antagonism and hostility but that is an article for another time.

Amongst self-declared “Islam expert” Robert Spencer‘s many theories about Islam is his claim of “Qur’anic anti-Semitism.” He uses contemporary examples of Muslim maledicta, usually from MEMRI, an organization uniformly devoted to such a cause, then superimposes the modern concept of antisemitism through the prism of said maledicta onto basic texts of Islam. Hoping to link in the mind of the reader a narrative of an inherent, nefarious, transhistorical “Islamic” antisemitism akin to or greater than Christian European antisemitism.

This is just patently false, as Norman Stillman has pointed out in the Encyclopaedia of Islam, Jews have, in the basic texts of Islam,

“none of the demonic qualities attributed to them in medieval Chrsitian literature, neither is there anything comparable to the overwhelming preoccupation with Jews and Judaism (except perhaps in the narratives on Muhammad’s encounters with Medinan Jewry) in Muslim traditional literature…Mediaeval Muslim theologians devoted only a very small part of their polemics against other religions and doctrines to Judaism. There is nothing in Islam comparable in quantity and rarely in sheer vitriol to the Adversus Judaeos literature of the Church.”

None other than Orientalist Bernard Lewis confirms this in his book The Jews of Islam:

‘For Muslims, [hostility to the Jews] is not part of the birth pangs of their religion, as it is for Christians. It is rather the usual attitude of the dominant to the subordinate, of the majority to the minority, without that additional theological and therefore psychological dimension that gives Christian anti-semitism its unique and special character.’

Undoubtedly there are Muslim clerics and leaders today, some very prominent, who have or do engage in antisemitism (there are also many voices who oppose antisemitism).

There should however be a resistance to conflate, the way proponents of the so-called “New Antisemitism” often do, such antisemitism with those who espouse legitimate criticism of the state of Israel and Zionism.

Of particular note has been the contribution of self-described Islamiyoon (Islamists) over the years who have engaged in crass and vitriolic antisemitism. Initially, early thinkers who influenced Islamism sought an accommodation with Zionism. The example of Rashid Rida, an influential turn of the century Muslim scholar, activist and thinker is useful. Initially,

“Rida called on Arabs to take an example from the resurrection of the Jewish umma. Although he had perceived the Zionists’ objectives in Palestine before many others, he nevertheless called, until 1914, for an accomadation with them so as to benefit from the European Jews’ wealth and knowledge, on the condition that they not try to take over Palestine or establish their state there.

….

Rida’s discourse on the Jews underwent a sharp change in the late 1920s. The long, two-part article that he published on the Palestinian question after the 1929 riots gave a new twist to elements already present in his more circumstantial article of the previous year; this time, he accentuated the anti-Jewish line. Rida drew on various sources, combining assertions that reflected the Muslim tradition that was the most hostile to Jews (whereas he had only recently availed himself of the most pro-Jewish strand in that tradition) with shameless borrowings from the most hackneyed commonplaces of the European anti-Semitism of the day. Among these commonplaces was the fantasy of the all-powerful Jewish conspiracy made popular by the worldwide dissemination of the famous Russian anti-Semitic forgery known as the Protocals of the Elders of Zion, which Rida did not cite, although it plainly had a pervasive influence on his text. (Arabs and the Holocaust, p.111-113)

Recently, President Mohamed Morsi, who has already been criticized for being silent in the face of antisemitic statements was exposed for engaging in hateful and bigoted rhetoric that is all too common amongst some Islamists.

Video of him from pre-Arab Spring days shows him calling Jews “apes and pigs.” Morsi claims he was taken out-of-context and that he really believes in respect for all religions and peoples, statements which we find rather convenient now. The reality is too many like him have contributed to misperceptions of Islam and Muslims, providing Islamophobes with fodder to assert and propagate falsities in their war on Islam and Muslims.

This however doesn’t let Islamophobes off the hook.

Take Robert Spencer’s recent post on Morsi’s screeds, he writes,

When video came out a couple of weeks ago in which he called Jews “apes and pigs” (which the Qur’an calls them in three places, 2:63-65, 5:59-60, and 7:166), Morsi said he was quoted “out of context.” (emphasis mine)

Spencer claims the Qur’an says Jews are apes and pigs in three places, implying “all Jews” are referred to this way. This is a lie. Let’s examine Spencer’s claims in detail. Here are the verses he cites:

AND LO! We accepted your solemn pledge, raising Mount Sinai high above you, [and saying;] “Hold fast with [all your] strength unto what We have vouchsafed you, and bear in mind all that is therein, so that you might remain conscious of God!” And you turned away after that-! And had it not been for God’s favour upon you and His grace, you would surely have found yourselves among the lost. For you are well aware of those from among you who profaned the Sabbath, whereupon We said unto them, “Be as apes despicable!” and set them up as a warning example for their time and for all times to come, as well as an admonition to all who are conscious of God. (2:63-66)

Say: “O followers of earlier revelation! Do you find fault with us for no other reason than that we believe in God [alone], and in that which He has bestowed from on high upon us as well as that which He has bestowed aforetime? – or [is it only] because most of you are iniquitous?” Say: “Shall I tell you who, in the sight of God, deserves a yet worse retribution than these? They whom God rejected and whom He condemned, and whom He turned into apes and swine because they worshipped the powers of evil: these are yet worse in station, and farther astray from the right path [than the mockers].” (5:59-60)

And then, when they disdainfully persisted in doing what they had been forbidden to do, We said unto them: “Be as apes despicable!” (7:166)

The verses in question reference a specific story in which a community of Jews who lived by the sea — which according to several early Islamic exegeses is the town of Eilat — had people who fished on the Sabbath and deliberately broke the law, for according to Jewish law, all work was forbidden on the Sabbath. In punishment for this breach of the law, God transformed the Sabbath-breakers into apes; only 5:60 speaks of God transforming some of the sabbath breaking Jews into swine.

Yet, note that the verses in question do not say, “All Jews are apes and pigs.” They do not say, “All Jews are descended from apes and pigs.” They do not say “All Jews are either apes or pigs.” Do some Muslims say so? Absolutely. Do they cite the above verses as “evidence” for their claims? Absolutely. Does that mean that the verses in question say so? Absolutely not.

In fact, Robert Spencer himself has admitted in the past that these verses do not apply to all Jews. Spencer in 2010:

In traditional Islamic theology these passages have not been considered to apply to all Jews. The classic Qur’anic commentator Ibn Kathir, whose commentary is widely distributed and respected among Muslims today, quotes earlier authorities saying that “those who violated the sanctity of the Sabbath were turned into monkeys, then they perished without offspring,” and that they “only lived on the earth for three days, for no transformed person ever lives more than three days.”

But such interpretations, of which Spencer is clearly aware does not prevent him from projecting the antisemitic statements of some Muslims, such as Morsi’s upon the entire religion of Islam itself when it is convenient for him to do so–as if he suffers from amnesia about what he has written in the past!

Our response is: How do the antisemitic views of some Muslims constitute “proof” of Quranic or Islamic antisemitism? Is the fact that some Catholics hold Jews to be “enemies of the Church,” “Christ killers,” etc. “proof” of inherent New Testament or Christian antisemitism? Does the fact that some Jews hold the view that “racism” is a value that “originated in the Torah,” or that “non-Jews exist to serve Jews” proof of Judaism’s racism and xenophobia against non-Jews? No, of course not! Then, how can that same logic apply to Islam?

Clearly, the verses in question speak of a specific group of Jews, the Sabbath-breakers, who were transfigured into apes and swine. There is no general smear of Jews as such in the Qur’an. So why say so Robert?

But wait! There’s more! Spencer never mentions that in the classical commentaries on these verses, there is a debate whether the “transformation” was literal or metaphorical. According to Muhammad Asad, an early 20th Century convert to Islam who penned a translation and commentary of the Qur’an, many early commentators believed it was a metaphorical transformation:

According to Zamakhshari and Razi, the expression “We said unto them” is here synonymous with “We decreed with regard to them” – God’s “saying” being in this case a metonym for a manifestation of His will. As for the substance of God’s decree, “Be as apes despicable”, the famous tabii Mujahid explains it thus: “(Only) their hearts were transformed, that is, they were not (really) transformed into apes: this is but a metaphor (mathal) coined by God with regard to them, similar to the metaphor of ‘the ass carrying books’ (62:5)” (Tabari, in his commentary on 2:65; also Manar I, 343; VI, 448; and IX, 379). A similar explanation is given by Raghib.

As we can see classical authorities are not in consensus on the issue of Jewish sabbath breakers being transformed into apes and pigs, some hold it to be a literal transformation while others metaphorical.

Regardless, however, the fact remains: the Qur’an does not say that the Jews are “apes and swine” despite the rantings of Morsi or the pseudo-expertise of Islamophobes such as Robert Spencer.

      Well according to this link

      http://www.viewzone.com/moslemprophecy.html

There is a pretty long hadith where the Prophet PBUH said: ‘Prayers will be neglected, carnal desires will be pursued, transgressors will become leaders, it will not be possible to distinguish the faithful from the false, telling lies will become desirable, payment of Zakah will be taken as a burden, the believer will be deemed the most disgraceful…….’

I must say though, cant find anything on it’s authenticity and ive never heard of the Mudkhal.

    • Solid Snake

Well, i dont have specific sources its just something I know but there are many ahadith talking about how there will come a time where people will enter Islam in droves and leave in droves, and hadith saying the people will become so ignorant of Islam that no one will know how to fast or pray. Things of that sort. Also hadith that say that there will come a time where the Quran is dishonored and Islam becomes strange to the people.

Its also the logical flow of things. The farther away you get from the source the less people will follow. And the more distractions in the world, the more things to enjoy and get lost in the less time people will have for religion.

That is why it is best to be aware of what is happening. If you pay attention to how things change you wont get caught off guard and you can prepare. Inshallah Allah keeps us on the true path until the end.

Islamophobes Spencer and Greenfield Push Fabricated Mohammad Al-Arifi Fatwa Story

Mohammad Al-Arifi

Mohammad Al-Arifi

I want to hat tip Rookie who first alerted us to the story about a fabricated fatwa that allegedly gave Syrian rebels permission to engage in “intercourse marriage/gang rape,” the fabricated fatwa was attributed to a Saudi preacher by the name of Mohammad Al-Arifi.

Robert Spencer was pushing the false story on his JihadWatch and made a grudging update to the story quite some time after it was revealed to be fabricated in which he couldn’t help but take a dig at Shi’a Muslims.

Daniel Greenfield, premiere Genocide-inciter at David Horowitz’s FrontPageRag also published an article on the fabricated fatwa that attempts to paint it as real. Greenfield’s article has no update and in fact was headed with an incendiary picture from an older hoax being pushed by Islamophobes regarding a supposed “mass pedophilia wedding” in Gaza in 2009.

Greenfield titled this picture: “Hamas Muslim Child Brides“:

Hamas-Muslim-Child-Brides

I debunked this absurd hoax back in August of 2009 in the article, Anti-Muslim Blogosphere Runs Amuck: Forced to Eat Crow. Clearly, Greenfield wasn’t phased and continues to push this lie despite it being debunked  over three years ago.

AlterNet, which it self was fooled but had the decency to apologize for its mistake has the full story on the fabricated fatwa:

Exhibit A in How an Islamophobic Meme Can Spread Like Wildfire Across the Internet

January 2, 2013  |  Editor’s note: On January 2, AlterNet was one of several outlets that published what turned out to be an article based on a false report. We would like to apologize to our readers for the error.

On January 2nd, the story of a Saudi Sheikh issuing a fatwa that condoned ‘intercourse marriage’ or gang rape in Syria exploded over the internet.

According to various sources, Sheikh Mohammad Al-Arifi had stated that foreign fighters in Syria had the right to engage in short term marriages to satisfy their sexual desires and boost their determination to fight against the Assad regime. Syrian girls and women from age 14 upwards were considered fair game and apparently secured their own place in heaven if they participated in these ‘intercourse marriages’.

By the evening a simple Google search of the words, ‘Saudi Sheikh’ , Syrian, and ‘women’ brought up some 5 million references and at least 3 pages of links to articles spreading the news. Not surprisingly there was immediate online uproar too, though as one commentator put it, much of the discussion was about whether these arranged temporary marriages technically constituted ‘rape’. This in itself is worrying.

There was also skepticism from many quarters about the veracity of the report, particularly among savvy Mideast experts.  Rightly so. The story, much like the one a few months ago about Egyptian Islamist MPs proposing laws that permitted sex with a deceased spouse up to 6 hours after his/her death, turned out to be a gross lie.  Sheikh Al-Arifi has issued a denial via his Facebook page. Over the next few days, the various websites and media outlets that spread the story will no doubt issue their retractions. But the story also raises many questions.  For starters, where did it come from? AlterNet inadvertently picked it up from the overtly anti-Islamic Clarion Fund site. Others pointed to the Iranian regime backed Press TV as the primary source on December 31 2012.  But the earliest English language reporting comes on December 29 from an obscure YouTube news site called Eretz Zen, tagged as a YouTube channel by a “secular Syrian opposed to having [his] country turned into a Taliban-like state.”

What’s extraordinary and depressing is that a slew of websites picked up the story and ran with it, some claiming legitimacy because the other had posted it and clearly no one bothered to do some basic fact checking. Arguably this is just the nature of the net and minute by minute news updates. The story was too sensational to give up. But one would imagine that if a similar story emerged about a Christian cleric or a Rabbi, someone, somewhere would have paused before posting it. Sadly, in the case of stories about Muslim clerics or Islamists the same red flags don’t seem to apply.

Perhaps western journalists are so ignorant of Islam and the cultures in the Middle East that they are willing to believe anything. It’s nothing new — after all Western notions of the East were always immured in sexual decadence and the allure of harems. That was a trademark of the patronizing Orientalism of the past. Today we have a phobic version of Orientalism — expecting and only seeing and reporting the bad and the ugly.

    • Solid Snake

Oh and I think western journalists do not fact check stories involving outrageous claims about Muslims because there are no negative consequences to be faced from misreporting about Muslims or Arabs. Their reputation remains as it is in the eyes of the majority of the Western readers. They don’t lose readership, they don’t face lawsuits, nothing. If a journalist were to recklessly publish an outrageous claim of this scale against a prominent political figure, or Non Muslim religious figure in the West they would undoubtedly face some type of consequence. Whether it is loss of readership, tarnishing of reputation, questioning the quality of the paper, etc etc. While I think those are all proper responses to lousy journalism and misreporting, I just wish people react that way when it is about Muslims. A paper or website should be held to journalistic standards no matter who they are reporting about.

Pamela Geller Stokes anti-Muslim Hatred

I agree with this point by Nick Lowles and have observed it myself,

We are entering a very dangerous period where ‘Counter-Jihadists’ and Islamist extremists are feeding off each other’s extremism to justify their own activities. I’ll be writing more about this shortly.

Though in all fairness this has been going on for quite some time now, though it seems to be escalating.

Geller stokes anti-Muslim hatred

by Nick Lowles (HopeNotHate)

US ‘Counter-Jihad’ activist Pam Geller is stoking anti-Muslim hatred by producing a poster for the New York subway which declares Muslims as ‘savages’.

The advert, which will go up in ten subway stations next week to coincide with the opening of the UN General Assembly, reads:

“In any war between the civilized man and the savage, support the civilized man. Support Israel. Defeat Jihad.”

The New York City Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) initially refused the posters but have been forced to by a court order.

Geller told Sky News: “I will not abridge my freedoms so as not to offend savages.

“I won’t take responsibility for other people being violent.

“I live in America and in America we have the first amendment.”

These posters are obviously designed to stoke up hatred against Muslims and coming so shortly after the Innocence of Muslims film, again produced by Counter-Jihadists, will create a reaction from Muslims and give ammunition to Islamist extremists.

We are entering a very dangerous period where ‘Counter-Jihadists’ and Islamist extremists are feeding off each other’s extremism to justify their own activities. I’ll be writing more about this shortly.

What we are seeing is that Jewish money is now being used to promote hatred of Muslims. This is why they finance groups like the EDL in the UK and several anti-Islam films. While Jews do not allow non-Jewish immigration into Israel, or even allow non-Jews there to marry Jews, they promote third world immigration into all western countries:

[Snipped: Links to hate sites are not allowed. Ilisha]

If multiculturalism is going to ease tensions between races, why is it promoted everywhere except Israel.

In fact, the Zionists are setting us up for another war to benefit Israel and their pockets.

    • “What is wrong with these people? Stop selling oil to enemy states”… “And bankrupt themselves?”

There are plenty of customers for the most vital product/s of industrial civilization e.g. China. Furthermore, energy is just one aspect, the other includes chemical industry precursors.

Not only that, the Global Village IS symbiotically inter-dependent.

The Muslim nations sit astride one of the most important strategic regions on the planet i.e. betwixt 3 continents. They have vast amounts of the most important natural resources for industrial civilization. Just one example is Europe’s need for energy in the form of solar energy from North Africa (DESERTEC).http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=can-north-africa-light-europe-solar-power

China & India are scrambling to grab resources e.g. Africa. The North Atlantic treaty Organization is morphing into the North’s Anywhere Treaty Organization. AFRICOM is being peddled.

PNAC is in full flow. The existentialist rhetoric of dead-ender Zionism is dragging in the Abrahamic cultures into one big catfight in a M.A.D. scenario. I do not think that a militantly secular world government backed by its own armies is the solution to a diverse world, just a panacea.

“Freedom” > not that simplistic, both nations have differing RELATIVE (not ABSOLUTE) Freedoms.

      Garibaldi,

Another excellent new article from Nick Lowles at Hope Not Hate:

Muslims rise up against Islamist extremes but ‘Counter-Jihads’ remain silent

posted by: Nick Lowles | on: Saturday, 22 September 2012, 09:15

While the anti-Muslim haters of the self-defined ‘Counter-Jihad’ movement whip up fear and hatred against all Muslims, over in Libya there is a real, grassroots ‘Counter-Jihad’ operation going on. Tens of thousands of people have protested against Ansar al-Sharia and other Islamist groups, who people believe were responsible for the assault on the US consulate and the deaths of four Americans, including the US Ambassador.

Militia compounds have been taken over and the headquarters of Ansar al-Sharia has been set alight.

While the assault on the US consulate might have been the spark, this popular uprising reflects a more general unhappiness with the activities of the Islamist militias since the overthrow of Col Muammar Gaddafi.

So you would imagine that the self-defined ‘Counter-Jihadists’ would have been cheering on this popular anti-Islamist uprising. But no, they were too busy spreading their general anti-Muslim hatred.

Pamela Geller’s Atlas Shrugs website focuses on her anger that CNN cut short an interview about her new poster campaign on the New York subway, in which she describes Muslims as “savages”.

Robert Spencer’s Jihad Watch reports on US collusion with the Muslim Brotherhood, whilst the English Defence League website simply tells the “Muslim world” that they “should get used to being offended.” Over at Gates of Vienna, probably the most important international ‘Counter-Jihad’ blogsite, they carry a clip from SUN TV where “Michael Coren talks about the House of Civilization versus the House of Islam.”

In fact, I’ve just spent the last 30 minutes going through as many of the so-called Counter-Jihadist websites that I can and I cannot find a single mention of the popular protest in Benghazi. But then again they wouldn’t report it as it does not find into their general mindset that all Muslims are the problem.

“What is wrong with these people? Stop selling oil to enemy states”

      And bankrupt themselves?

In what way are they enemy states? I know that the freedoms available in the US are anathema in saudi arabia and I find it very disturbing to see UK politicians pretending to respect the saudi state but the oil producers and the oil providers need each other. It’s a symbiotic relationship, while oil keeps flowing the west turns a blind eye to the human rights abuses endemic in the oil producing states. It won’t last though. Saudi internal oil consumption is predicted to outstrip saudi oil production in the next couple of decades.

    • Rights

Those who use the First Amendment or any other part of the US Constitution to advance nefarious purpose neither understand nor respect that amendment, or, for that matter, the Constitution. Such people are mischief makers at heart. I think Pamela Geller is such a person. While she may not want to abridge her freedoms – and no one should want her to – I doubt that the freedom she envisions and the manner in which she exercises it are the same that the Amendment meant. Technicalities of jurisprudence and polemics aside, common sense says the free speech the First Amendment meant is not the kind that slaughters the very souls of millions of fellow citizens. Speech that inflicts extreme pain and terrorizes the minds of millions of people leaves the realm of speech meant by the First Amendment. It becomes hate-speech, pure and simple. Geller’s speech is of the soul-slaughtering sort. It is hate-speech. It is an insult to the very amendment she uses to shield it.

The ‘Pro-Israel’ Network Behind the Innocence Video by Justin Raimondo, September 19, 2012 http://original.antiwar.com/justin/2012/09/18/the-pro-israel-network-behind-the-innocence-video/ he central figure in all this is reported to be one Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, a 56-year-old Egyptian immigrant: although Nakoula presented himself in an interview with the Associated Press as “Sam Bacile,” a 56-year-old “Israeli-American” real estate developer, he is a Coptic Christian, a member of a persecuted minority in Egypt — and a convicted felon. Media reports portray him as the central figure in the making of Innocence: he denies this, and describes his job as arranging “logistics” for the film. Nakoula’s role seems to have been that of a facilitator — gofer — rather than “creative director,” and in any case he hardly seems the type to have originated the idea for the movie. Having been released from jail — where he was serving a sentence for bank fraud — barely a month before filming started, Nakoula was hardly in a position to undertake such a project. Chances are he was recruited by someone else, the real originator and driving force behind Innocence— but who is that someone?

Public records show a filming permit was taken out by “Media for Christ,” an outfit run by one Joseph Nasrallah Abdelmasih. His group sponsors Christian programming in Arabic, including “The Way,” a production that has featured such prominent Islamophobes as Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer. The Geller-Spencer collaboration goes back to the protests against the New York City “Ground Zero” mosque in which the duo achieved national notoriety: Nasrallah was one of the speakers at their rally. The idea for just such a movie as Innocence showed up on Geller’s blog in February, in a post entitled “A Movie About Muhammad: An Idea Whose Time Has Come.” Ali Sina, an ex-Muslim and board member of Geller and Spencer’s “Stop the Islamization of Nations,” exhorted Geller’s readers to support his movie project:

[Quote:] We are entering a very dangerous period where ‘Counter-Jihadists’ and Islamist extremists are feeding off each other’s extremism to justify their own activities.”

The always-excellent historian William Dalrymple eloquently made exactly the same point in his brilliant book The Last Mughal. Dalrymple also provided a slightly modified version of the relevant quote at the end of this Guardian article: http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2007/may/10/comment.india

“In a curious but very concrete way, the fundamentalists of all three Abrahamic faiths have always needed each other to reinforce each other’s prejudices and hatreds. The venom of one provides the lifeblood of the others.”

I am sorry, too, that she (and a disproportionate number of Islamophobes) are members of my tribe. Most are die-hard Zionists who reject multiculturalism and seem to also hate Blacks, Hispanics, and gays too.

I at first thought it might be a “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” or “the enemy of my friend is my enemy” thing. But upon further reflection, the same xenophobia, racism and malice that motivates Islamophobia also underlies Zionism.

Pamela Geller Spreads Loon Hoax: “Nigerian Muslims Crucify Cat Over Muhammad Film”

Pamela Geller, premiere anti-Muslim loon hoax perpetrator loves creating fictional stories and passing them off as real news. She has a particular penchant for fabricating stories about Nigerian Muslims, in her racist eyes all Africans look the same.

Recall her attempt to frame the Congo gas tanker explosion over a year ago in which hundreds of Congolese were incinerated as an instance of Nigerian Muslim on Christian violence. Anything goes for Geller if it dehumanizes Muslims, the more so to incite her followers towards her Ayn Rand inspired view of Muslims as “savages.”

In her recent lie against Nigerian Muslims she claims they crucified a cat in protest of the anti-Muslim movie, “Innocence of Muslims,” (h/t: Robert4 & Paul)

Nigerian Muslims Crucify A Cat on the Cross to Protest Freedom of Speech

September, 17, 2012

An anti-freedom, anti-life, culture produces little else other than new and different ways to kill, murder torture, destroy. That is their contribution to humanity — anti-humanity.

“Muslim Youths In Nigeria Crucify A Cat On The Cross To Protest Anti-Islam Film” Nigeria News

Geller is frolicking in hate land again, her post has been picked up in the Islamophobia echo chamber, with JihadWatchIsrael ForumExposing Liberal Lies and thousands of others reproducing her blogpost. The above picture originated in Ghana not Nigeria, and surfaced nearly a year ago, reported by Ghanaweb.com in the article “Society for animal protection decries crucifixion of cat” and on the Cat Defender blog,

October 22, 2011

There are numerous reasons to be thankful to the Internet but the use of it as a forum in order for cat-haters to showcase the end products of their unspeakable cruelty and moral depravity is not one of them. The recent posting on Facebook of a photograph of a bound, black and white cat that was crucified by Ghanaian youths is a good case in point. (See photo above.)

Whereas the fate of big cats, elephants, primates, and other endangered and abused animals justifiably garners widespread attention from conservationists around the world, little attention is paid as to how companion and farm animals are treated on the “Dark Continent.” It therefore is difficult to gauge from afar whether the shocking manner in which this particular cat was abused is indicative of how most cats in Ghana are treated or whether this is merely as isolated case of moral degenerates seeking worldwide acclaim.

The photograph was posted online by someone who calls himself Kwabina Daniels, a.k.a. Popkon Sika-one. He possibly could be one of the youths shown in the photo but even that has been called into question by the Ghana Society for the Protection and Care of Animals’ (GSPCA) plea for the public’s assistance in identifying those pictured.

“To Facebookers and friends of the supposed perpetrator of this cruel act, it was fun and perhaps the most award-winning picture,” David Nyoagbe and Amasaba Adul-Yakeen Aluizah of the GSPCA said in a joint statement released to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on October 5th. (See “Society for Animal Protection Decries Crucifixion of a Cat.”) “It took friends of animals all over the world who begun (sic) criticizing this dastardly act for the picture on (the) Facebook page to be taken off.”

To its credit, the GSPCA promptly condemned the killing and even went so far as to add that cats should be fed regularly, provided with veterinary care and sufficient space in which to exercise, and not be subjected to either threats or molestation. Beyond that, however, its position is a good deal more ambiguous.

The GSPCA concluded by accusing the youths of insulting Christianity. “If this is not blasphemy, then what is?” it plaintively asked in the GNA article cited supra.

For whatever it is worth, the CIA World Factbook claims that nearly sixty-eight per cent of Ghanaians profess to the Christians as opposed to only sixteen per cent who claim to be Muslims.

There is no evidence that these youth who crucified the cat were Muslims. Considering that Ghana is a predominantly Christian nation, a more reasonable assumption would be that the perpetrators of this crime were Christians–such an assumption based on no evidence would, however, still be wrong.

It’s beyond disgraceful that Geller would use such a crime to dehumanize Muslims–it’s despicable. Such actions are par for the course with the anti-Muslim movement that seeks above everything to obsessively subjugate Muslims and crush/erase their religion from the face of the earth.

Update:

I’ve also been alerted to Sheila Musaji’s piece which is well worth reading: Geller & Spencer Create “Muslim Cat Crucifixion” Lie to Inflame Hatred.

UPDATE II:

A Danish website by the name of Tosseanstalten has more on the origins of the story. According to their research the picture does not emerge from Ghana but Angola. Read the translated article: Loony Bin in Severe Pickle.

      PART THREE (To Elliot)

      You wrote:

With ample truth supporting Islamist Jihad as a genuine threat to Jews, Christians and all who are not part of Dar al Islam, it is regrettable when a horrible situation is mischaracterized to support a just cause.

      RESPONSE:

The concepts of Darul-Harb (House of War) and Darul-Islam (House of Islam) does NOT apply today.

The notions of “houses” or “divisions” of the world in Islam such as Dar al-Islam and Dar al-Harb does not appear in the Qur’an or the Hadith. Early islamic jurists devised these terms to describe the legal rulings for the islamic expansion. The very first use of the terms was in Iraq where Abu Hanifa and his disciples Abu Yusuf and Al-Shaybani. On the other side in the levant Al-Awza’i was leading in this discipline and later Shafi’i. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Divisions_of_the_world_in_Islam

That was DURING the Expansionist era, the Crusader Christians were doing the SAME THING. The “notions” DO NOT apply today because Islam has expanded, the Muslims CANNOT expand any-longer but ONLY fight back (Self-Defense). IT is American Christians who’re EXPANDING their Empire today, not Muslims:

By looking at America’s many wars throughout history, it becomes apparent that it is not radical Islam that propels the country to war. Rather, it is America’s trajectory of war and conquest, which has always been in the direction of expanding hegemony. In the start, the country expanded by occupying American Indian lands, portraying its indigenous population as inherently violent and warlike. In 1823, U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Marshall wrote: “The tribes of Indians inhabiting this country were fierce savages, whose occupation was war…” [2]

The American Indians were thought to be an existential threat to the United States (a classic case of projection or role inversion): John Quincy Adams, for example, wrote that “the savage Indians” were out to “wage an exterminating war” against the “peaceful inhabitants” of the United States [3]. It was the same message then as it is now: we must attack them before they attack us. https://www.loonwatch.com/2011/12/we-re-at-war-and-we-have-been-since-1776/

Westerners have dehumanized the Natives as they dehumanized the Iraqis:

The fascist lunatic Hugh Fitzgerald on hideous Iraq, its largely hideous people and enjoying the spectacle of civil war:

“En passant par l’Irak…and then leaving at long last, and while removing all the planes, all the helicopters, all the Humvees, all the Bradley fighting vehicles, all the trucks, all the tanks, all the everything — now remember, boys, don’t leave any war materiel behind, including computers, including absolutely everything, god knows American taxpayers have spent or committed nearly $500 billion to hideous Iraq and its largely HIDEOUS people, and nothing should be left behind. http://spencerwatch.com/who-is-hugh-fitzgerald/

Anyone who calls others HIDEOUS is the MOST hideous, that APPLIES to you (Hugh Fitzgerald). History is repeating Itself; the act of dehumanization is happening again. By the SAME people now playing VICTIM are demonizing a NEW people (Iraq), they don’t consider them Humans!

The Christian Right-Wing warmongers and Dominists are the THREAT to Humanity. Zionism is the THREAT to Humanity:

      PART TWO:

      Here’s a commonly Misunderstood passage: |

O ye who believe! take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors: They are but friends and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily Allah guideth not a people unjust. (Q. 5:51)

      Here is the explanation TROLL:

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4D9aB21DwM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cnQvbnni_fg

      The Prophet Muhammad said:

It is narrated on the authority of Ibn Abu Laila that while Qais b. Sa’d and Sahl b. Hunaif were both in Qadislyya a bier passed by them and they both stood up. They were told that it was the bier of one of the people of the land (non-Muslim). They said that a bier passed before the Holy Prophet (may peace be upon him) and he stood up. He was told that he (the dead man) was a Jew. Upon this he remarked: Was he not a human being or did he not have a soul? And in the hadith narrated by ‘Amr b. Murra with the same chain of transmitters, (the words) are:” There passed a bier before us.” (Muslim)

Again Abu Zubair heard Jabir say that the Holy Prophet (may peace be upon him) and his Companions kept standing for a bier of a Jew until it disappeared from sight. (Muslim)

The Quran doesn’t say to MURDER the Jews, it commands Muslims to fight ANYONE (pagans, Jews, or Christians) in Self-Defense (2:190-3, 4:75, 8:61, 22:39, 60:8)

      Here’s one misunderstood Hadith:

“The Day of Judgment will not come about until Muslims fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Muslims, O Abdullah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Only the Gharkad tree, (a certain kind of tree) would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews.” (Sahih Muslim, 41-6985)

This is a very misunderstood Hadith! IT is a PROPHECY about Judgment Day when Muslims shall fight the Anti-Christ’ ARMY comprising of 70,000 Persian Jews according to the Hadith:

“Dajjal will be followed by 70,000 Jews from Isfahan, they will wear (robes) al-Tayalisah (Persian shawls – (today’s Shia)) which are seamless.” [refer Saheeh Muslim]

So the Hadith is about PERSIAN JEWS fighting for Dajjal (the Anti-Christ) on Judgment Day (or near). That Hadith doesn’t extend to ALL JEWS, only the 70,000 Persian Jews who shall fight FOR the Anti-Christ (Dajjal)!

That Hadith is restricted to a GROUP amongst the Jews, the followers (soldiers) of the Anti-Christ! There’s no General and Open-Ended command to KILL the Jews. IN contrast, Luke 19:27 is a Genocidal Command of Jesus Christ that APPLIES to all Jews (Millions of people), Jesus doesn’t differentiate the way Prophet Muhammad did (above). The Quran distinguishes between Combatants and Civilians (Q. 4:75, 8:61, 60:8).

And indeed, among the People of the Scripture are those who believe in Allah and what was revealed to you and what was revealed to them, [being] humbly submissive to Allah . They do not exchange the verses of Allah for a small price. Those will have their REWARD with their Lord. Indeed, Allah is swift in account. (Q. 3:199)

Not all of them are alike; a party of the people of the Scripture stand for the right, they recite the Verses of Allah during the hours of the night, prostrating themselves in prayer. (Q. 3:113)

Indeed, those who believed and those who were Jews or Christians or Sabeans [before Prophet Muhammad] – those [among them] who believed in Allah and the Last Day and did righteousness – will have their REWARD with their Lord, and no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve. (Q. 2:62)

We are FORBIDDEN to harm Jews and Christians UNLESS they fight us (2:190, 22:39). Contrast to the Genocidal Luke 19:27, the “pagans” of Q. 9:5 comprise a GROUP (soldiers) of that Time who BROKE the Covenant; by the Historical Context and Setting Q. 9:5 is NOT general. There’s nothing in Quran like Luke 19:27 or Psalms 5:5. And there’s NOTHING in Luke 19:27 that Differentiates between the Jews (as the Quran does), Jesus says to “KILL THEM ALL” as a General Command!

But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them–bring them here and KILL THEM in front of me.’”

But those mine enemies,…. Meaning particularly the JEWS, who were enemies to the person of Christ, and hated and rejected him, as the King Messiah; and rebelled against him, and would not submit to his government; and were enemies to his people, and were exceeding mad against them, and persecuted them; and to his Gospel, and the distinguishing truths of it, and to his ordinances, which they rejected against themselves: (John Gill, Exposition of the Entire Bible)

Luke 19:27 extends to WOMEN too! Yet, the Quran commands Muslims to FIGHT FOR women (4:75), not a SINGLE passage in the Quran condones KILLING women! The Bible condones the KILLING of women (Num. 31:17-20, Deut. 2:34, 3:5, 20:16, 2 Chron. 15:13, 1 Sam. 15:3, Ez. 9:6) and GOD is silent! Here’s the Contrast between the Quran and Bible:

Narrated By ‘Abdullah : During some of the Ghazawat of the Prophet a woman was found killed. Allah’s Apostle disapproved the killing of women and children. (Bukhari Volume 004, Book 052, Hadith Number 257)

Ibn `Abbas says: The Messenger of Allah, when dispatching his troops, would tell them, ” ..Do not behave treacherously, nor misappropriate war-booty, nor mutilate [those whom you kill], nor kill children, nor the people in cloisters.” (Musnad Ahmad, Sunan At-Tirmidhî)

Another narration records that he said, “…Do not kill a woman, nor a child, nor an old-aged man’ (Sharh as-Sunnah Al-Baghawî) Narrated Anas ibn Malik: The Prophet said: Go in Allah’s name, trusting in Allah, and adhering to the religion of Allah’s Apostle. Do not kill a decrepit old man, a young infant, or a child, or a woman; do not be dishonest about booty, but collect your spoils, do right and act well, for Allah loves those who do well. (Sunan Abî Dawûd)

And again, “Do not kill a child, nor a woman, nor an old man, nor obliterate a stream, nor cut a tree…” (Sunan Al-Bayhaqî)

      IN CONTRAST, the Bible says:

Now kill all the boys. And kill every woman who has slept with a man,18 but save for yourselves every girl who has never slept with a man. (Numbers 31:17,18)

This is what the LORD Almighty says: ‘I will punish the Amalekites for what they did to Israel when they waylaid them as they came up from Egypt. Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy [a] everything that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.’ (1 Samuel 15:2,3)

”…Lior’s enthusiasm for Shapira’s tract stems from his own eliminationist attitude toward non-Jews. For example, while Lior served as the IDF’s top rabbi, he instructed soldiers: “There is no such thing as civilians in wartime… A thousand non-Jewish lives are not worth a Jew’s fingernail!” (https://www.loonwatch.com/2010/09/shocking-religious-defense-of-killing-non-jews-with-video/)

No civilians in wartime? That is the WAR-DOCTRINE of Judaism and Biblical Christianity, not Islam. Even if the “violent passages” of the Quran are GENERAL and OPEN-ENDED (as Spencer claims), it’s ONLY directed to the Combatants (not Civilians). IF the War-passages of the Bible are GENERAL (which is Debatable) then Jews and Christians are KILLING women and children (Civilians) with a CLEAR Conscience (they have Religious Basis). Yet, the Muslims are always ATTACKED (verbally and physically) for being VIOLENT when those “Islamic Extremists” are following the Bible’s war doctrine (not Islam) without knowing it (destruction, women and children). The Bible has a SUICIDE BOMBER, his name was Samson. Read up ‘The Samson Option’, Herem, and Perpetual Servitude.

Hence, the Bible is MORE violent than the Quran. Luke 19:27 is much HARSH than Q. 9:5 and Sahih Muslim, 41-6985 (above).

The above Hadith is NOT General and Open-ended call for genocide! Islam distinguishes between Combatants and Civilians (Q. 2:190-3, 4:75, 22:39, 60:8), Judaism and Biblical Christianity DO NOT. The SOLDIERS of the Anti-Christ are NOT civilians, they are 70,000 combatants. Compare that to the MILLIONS of Jews that Jesus KILL when He returns (Luke 19:27). And what about the TWO MILLION people that Yahweh massacred in the Bible?

“Whoever harms a dhimmi (Jew or Christian) has harmed me” (Tirmidhi).

The Prophet, may Allah bless him, said, “Whoever killed a Mu’ahid (a person who is granted the pledge of protection by the Muslims) shall not smell the fragrance of Paradise though its fragrance can be smelt at a distance of forty years (of traveling).” (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith 2930)

“Whoever oppresses a dhimmi or loads a work that is over his strength or takes something away from him by force, I am his foe on the Day of Judgment.” (Abu Dawud, Kharaj, 31-33)|

      COMPARE the following:

And say: “The truth from your Lord (has come in this Qur’an). ” Then, whoever wills (to believe), let him believe; and whoever wills (to disbelieve), let him disbelieve.} (Al-Kahf 18: 29)

But those enemies of mine who DID NOT want me to be king over them–bring them here and KILL THEM in front of me.’” (Lk 19:27)

If it had been your Lord’s will, all of the people on Earth would have believed. Would you then compel the people so to have them believe? (Yunus 10: 99)

There is no Compulsion in Religion, Truth stands out Clear from Error (Q. 2:256)

All who would not seek the LORD, the God of Israel, were to be PUT TO DEATH, whether small or great, man or woman.” (2 Chron. 15:13)

Needless to say, there’s no substance and weight in your statement because it BACKFIRES on you! You ignore the “scriptural exhortations” throughout the Torah, Talmud, and other Jewish Texts to unfriend, hate, and murder Gentiles.

“Jehovah created the non-Jew in human form so that the Jew would not have to be served by beasts. The non-Jew is consequently an ANIMAL in human form, and condemned to serve the Jew day and night” (Nidrasch Talpioth, p. 225-L, TALMUD).

“Murdering Goyim is like killing a wild animal” (Sanhedrin 59a)

“To communicate anything to a Goy about our religious relations would be equal to the killing of all Jews, for if the Goyim knew what we teach about them, they would kill us openly” (Libbre David 37)

“If a heathen (Gentile) hits a Jew, the Gentile must be killed. Hitting a Jew is the same a sshitting God” (Sanhedrin 58b).

“Jews must destroy the books of the Christians” (Shabbath 116a)

“When a Jew murders a Gentile (“Cuthean”), there will be no death penalty. What a jEW STEALS FROM A gENTILE HE MAY KEE;PP “(sANHEDRIN 57A).

“All property of other nations belongs to the Jewish nation, which consequently, is entitled to seize upon without any scruples” (Schulchan Aruch, Choszen Hamiszpat, 348

“We have to recognize that Jewish blood and the blood o fa goy are not the same thing |(NY times, June 6, 1989, p 5)

“One million Arabs are not worth a Jewish fingernail” (Rabbi Yaacov Perrin, NY Daily News, Feb. 28, 1994, p. 6)

We implore YOU by the Moral Principle of Honesty to produce BRING FORTH these “scriptural exhortations” so the Muslims can EXPOSE you.

The following Saying of Jesus applies to you perfectly:

How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. (Luke 6:42)

There’s a great deal of audacity inconsistency and blatant hypocrisy and IRONY on your statements, the clear distortion, misinterpretation, and Corruption of the Islamic Sources by Trolls (such as yourself) is appalling to the HIGHEST degree. As though Islamophobice eisegesis hasn’t gone FAR enough, it apparently has reached its peak.

The Grand Mufti of Egypt Mufti Sheikh Ali Gomaa wrote:

“…The world is sorely in need of such lessons, which represent the authentic teachings of the Koran and the prophet of Islam. It is important to separate these noble messages from those that are bandied about by those who have no competencies in religious interpretation, Koranic hermeneutics or the history of Islamic thought.

Where does the Quran say to HATE Jews? I challenge you to FIND a passage in the Quran like this:

The arrogant cannot stand in your presence. You HATE all who do wrong; (Psalms 5:5). Where does the Quran say “hate?” IT never says “Hate the Jews”; the Quran divides the Jews and Christians into the Good and Evil, condemning the Evil and praising the Good. The Righteous Jews are HONORED in the Quran (Q. 3:113, Al-Jathiyah:16)

The religious dissociation of Abraham and other religious personalities from the main body of Jews and Christians was an inevitable consequence of two strands among Jews and Christians. The Qur’an continuously praises the one strand, and condemns the other, e.g., ‘From among them (i.e., the People of the Book) there is an upright group but most of them perpetrate misdeeds’ (V, 66). They were asked to live up to the Torah and the Evangel (V, 68), but, like the proprietors of all organized religious traditions, Jews and Christians quarrelled among themselves and each claimed that the keys of salvation were firmly in their exclusive grasp: ‘The Jews say the Christians have nothing to stand on and the Christians say the Jews have nothing to stand on, and they both read the Book’ (Fazlur Rahman, Islam, pg. 27)

The Jews are addressed in two roles in the Qur’an: in their role as an earlier community of believers, prior recipients of revelation, and in their role as a group living in Yathrib(the city that would become Madina), whose interests sometimes agreed with those of Muslims, and sometimes not. The Jews are sometimes praised for values that they held on to, sometimes chastised for values they abandoned in the former role, and revelations concerning their latter role guided the politics of the early Muslim community, which did sometimes involve opposing the Jews in Yathrib in military campaigns. What has happened is that verses that were revealed for a very specific circumstance were deemed to be normative, and verses praising the values that the Jews maintained have been habitually ignored. While the Qur’an was revealed during a time of conflict with a Jewish community, it does not espouse anti-Semitism as a value. It’s a bit like saying that Christians should despise modern Romans because of the persecution that the early Christian community endured from the Roman empire. (http://www.islamicboard.com/clarifications-about-islam/20751-what-qurans-view-jews.html)

Yahweh, the GOD of the Bible, murders the Jews:

But the LORD killed seventy men from Beth-shemesh because they looked into the Ark of the LORD. And the people mourned greatly because of what the LORD had done. (1 Samuel 6:19)

”God is always killing his chosen people. And, as usual, the people repent and ask Moses to pray to God for them. He does, and God tells him to make a bronze snake, so all the people who were bitten and haven’t died yet could look at it and be cured. Oh what a miracle, God saves a few people from the snakebites that he himself caused! God didn’t kill quite as many of his own chosen people as he was going to! Wingnut Islamophobes Create Another Hoax Story: Muslims Rape Horse

The sick servile minds of the Islamophobes know no depths of depravity that they aren’t willing to revel in; EDL Review takes them to task for circulating lies in the Islamophobic looniverse.:

Muslim Horse Rape Story EXPOSED

(EDL Review)

Islamophobic sites like IslamVersusEuropeBaredNakedIslam and Vivienco, have been posting and regurgitating a story claiming that a 53-year-old ‘Muslim’ inhabitant of El Ejido abused, and raped a female horse (click on the names for their articles). But the story has been manipulated and has been a petty attempt to demonise Muslims.

First of all, it’s extremely strange that these sites have provided no or little source or reference to the story they are mentioning. Secondly, the author fails to give the name of the rapist, and only gives the initials ‘M.A’. Why? Is it so we don’t find out that this incident never even happened? Thirdly, earlier news reports (like this) only say the man was ‘African’. There was no mention of his faith.

A real-looking picture of a dead horse has been added into the manipulating articles, giving the impression it’s the same horse that was ‘raped’. As you can see, BaredNakedIslam even claim it is.

But this picture isn’t even of the incident! It’s a four-year-old picture that has been used previously in a Spanish news article titled ‘Wild horses cause three accidents in recent days Carnota’ (here), explaining how some Spanish workers were injured when crashing into horses on a road!

Clearly, these websites have been manipulating people by twisting things for their biased agenda. Only the gullible have been believing them without checking their accuracy, like the English Defence League (EDL) Surrey Division.

Note: We have exposed sites such as Vivienco before when they circulated a similar duck rape article and blamed it on a Muslim. The story was alsomanipulated. Read about it below.

The link provided indicated that three different accidents had occurred when unfenced horses roaming the hills of Galicia strayed into the roadway in January and February of 2008. The climate of Galicia, on the north coast of Spain, is a lot colder and foggier than most of Iberia, and at night, especially, it was not possible to see these dark bay horses, let alone stop. One woman wound up in the hospital; as I can make out, two adult horses and a foal were killed. The mayor demanded that those who owned horses put identifying marks on them, and that horses be kept from accessing the roadway.

I know that much, and I never studied Spanish. I have only as much of the language as I picked up in the streets of Miami after it was run over, yet it is clear to me none of these horses are rape victims. What we’re seeing, then, is no misconstruction, but an intentional malicious lie.

Given that it wasn’t even the right horse, the rest of it is likely baloney, too (I shouldn’t have said that, because now these freaks will claim Muslim women disport themselves with baloneys). But why a horse?

Well, have you ever checked out a stallion? A man who could make an impression on a mare would be, well, unusual. And that’s what these Islamophobes are quaking in their boots about. WHAT IF THESE PAYNIMS ARE ENDOWED LIKE STALLIONS? AND THEY’RE INVADING US! Some similar idea, I understand, was behind all the Victorian “invasion literature”. Only now that all the Romanians and Roossians and such have proven to be as normal as anyone else, they’re obsessing about AYRABS, who are so formidable they kill MARES! How can a feller compete any more?

      P. S. There was a case of duck rape, but it was in Miami some twenty-seven years ago. The perp was American, and already no stranger to the Jackson Memorial psych ward.

It’s also important to note that there’s hardly ANY sources that give us early stories before the Islamophobic sites started publishing. It’s definitely strange… and even stranger that they didn’t even provide these crucial sources.

    • Fred

And yeah, its a case that happened in Almería, Spain. Where the majority are Christian.

      @Zakariya Ali Sher

Other sources also state the man was African, so it’s just a compilation of silly stories. Nevertheless, what Islamophobes are failing to realise is that religion has no part in this. You’re right though, they’re implying it does and are deeply stupid about it.

    • @Garibaldi

Anyway, even if it were true, it would be a logical falacy to say that because this sick man happened to be a Muslim, this would somehow reflect poorly on Islam, or Muslims for that matter, but these sites usually aren’t very logical, in addition to being dishonest.

    • @Garibaldi

Not surprising that they have practically no sources backing them up on this. This sounds like something they would make up out of thin air.

    • Zakariya Ali Sher

Ummm, to be fair, the early story cited in this article describes the man as ‘magrebí,’ a Spanish cognate with the Arabic Maghrebi, implying that he was Moroccan (or at least North African) in origin. And while there are Moroccan Jews, it is still a Muslim majority country. Even without giving his name, being Moroccan is enough for many people to equate this with ‘Muslim.’

Now… that said, his actions most certainly are not in accordance with Islam. Abuse of animals is considered a sin in Islam, and so is bestiality. This individual was presumably non-practicing. At most he MIGHT have been raised Muslim, but he certainly wasn’t following the precepts of the faith. Not that it would matter either way, since he’s clearly a sick, heartless individual and should be punished to the fullest extent of the law, regardless of whether he is Muslim, Jew, Christian, Atheist or whatever…

Of course, the bigger implication here is that once again we have the Islamophobic right wingers attempting to imply that Islam endorses bestiality. That is a very unusual claim, especially considering the stereotypes on Islam and sexuality, but it is a particularly insidious one. I think part of the reason is because it is so easy to make up things about Islam, given the general ignorance of their target audience. But then, why bestiality in particular? I think its mostly because it serves to alienate Muslims from the rest of society. It paints us as ‘different,’ ‘exotic,’ and of course, ‘savage.’

But then, it runs into a couple of big problems. Perhaps most amusingly, secular Western democracies have actually legalized bestiality, amongst them Germany. According to wikipedia, France only outlawed bestiality in 2004, and the Netherlands in 2010. Denmark apparently tried to outlaw bestiality and failed.

Muslim men seem to have quite a range of species they like to have sex with. They like goats. I have heard some like camels too. Sometimes, they might have farewell sex with their dead wives, as the Egyptian “fatwa” proved. But they might also like horses. And if they don’t like any of it, they like to blow themselves up and do it with 72 virgins in heaven.

    • Khalid

@AJ haahahahahaha, you guessed it, we got something BIG in the works for next time

    • Garibaldi

@AJ, ha! I’m sure they are willing to go further up the Mammalian species, probably ending up talking about Muslim men raping Whales…

I’ve always thought the right-wingers engage in a lot of projection when it comes to stories like this, but then I always knew they were degenerate slime.
